- After having trouble with my ramp up chamber and small bump sensitivity I took my fork to NS  dynamics in Brisbane to see if they could help me out…. They come up with an ingenious way to modify the ramp up chamber to help prevent harsh bottom out.

Much appreciation for this video. Having same issue with ohlins fork that was equipped with the ebike. After tinkering with HSC and LSC, compression is great with great absorption but fork bottoms out on big jumps. Need to tinker with ramp up chamber
I’ve got my ramp up at 290 … and had top chamber at 170… still nearly bottoms out..

Dude that’s insanity. They put nearly maximum pressure in your chambers, and I know you don’t weigh 253-319 lbs. That’s what us big boys use. In case you’re interested, some reviewers have talked with Ohlins, and they said there is a negative -spring volume reducer installed in the off-the-shelf RXF 38s., and if it’s removed, that small bump harshness will go away. Then just use the recommended psi - pumping up the ramp up first. Do your sag adjustment (with all rebound and compression knobs open). Then dial it in. If in doubt, set everything in the middle, and go from there.

I’m about to buy a fork but these posts about set up issues with Ohlins have me worried. I don’t want to spend $2200 and have to ship the fork back for a custom tune on top .
Was there a fault or problem with your fork or is this how an Ohlins are out of the box ?
It’s not the fork, it is the bike company put their own tune in the fork.
Normally, if you buy one off-the-shelf, they are way better .

I weigh 80kg with kit and found 130/250psi is suitable for me. Is that normal? The tune guide suggest 100/190psi for me.
Actually I wanted to have more air in ramp up chamber, but I’m afraid it to explode but to too high pressure.
My rider weight is 98 kilos.
This is the only ride I’ve had so far with new tune… but theses trails are pretty extreme for enduro bike…. But they worked well.. I’m guess they need a little bit more tuning.

Was it the rubber hose in the ramp up chamber, mine is doing the same thing and that’s what they said they were going to do. Feels like it needs more HSC dampening, in the lock out it didn’t bottom at all
I’ve got 300 in the ramp up atm and 125 in main… seems to be doing the job… no compression on at all ..
Seems to work better with faster rebound
