Andromeda won't really be a collision as such, because both galaxies are mostly made up of empty space. There might be a few star systems colliding or merging with each other, and the night sky would become far more interesting, but the odds of any particular star system surviving are pretty good.

The only reason why Theia is in Mars's place is because they're both about the same size and diameter in measurement. Earth, on the other hand, is about the same size as Venus.

And yes I’m for certain any planet sized object colliding with earth would result in immediate death. It’d be so quick, we wouldn’t even realize it because we’d be evaporated from the sheer heat and pressure of the shockwave.
I was really hopeful that our nukes could be used to take out potential meteors but the ones that can wipe us out are way too big for them to do any damage
100-1000 Km meteors are almost non existent in our solar system since it's formation (The biggest rocks fusioned to create planets, or they started to orbit with them.
Not to mention Jupiter and the sun gravity swallowing most of the rocks in the area nowadays.
It only leaves in earth trajectory meteors like 10-50km, and their course can be altered (It's not easy and it costs an arm, but at least it is possible if you make it in time)

I would seriously worry more about the smaller meteors for the smaller they are the harder it gets to detect them, plus they do not need to reach the floor to do heavy damage (Some 300 m meteor exploding close from a nuclear installation would seriously make me sweat).

The only reason why Venus doesn't have a moon is because it never experienced a planet-sized collision that would have given the planet its own moon. Now imagine if Venus got hit as Earth did only we wouldn't have a moon by now...

I saw a meteor once. I would have seen it if my little cousin didn’t say “LOOK” and point to the sky, she was about 5 or 6. I normally wouldn’t have looked but I saw a gold/silver line streak past my window of the car we were getting into after a long night. I turned around and will never forget the sight of something that belonged to the rest of the universe come towards our planet. I was mesmerized as it broke up into tiny little fragments and simply dissolved into the atmosphere. Ever since then I have realized how special life is and how lucky I was to live one and share that moment with my family. It may seem like it wasn’t much but when I sat in the seat, I thought: That wasn’t just a shooting star, that was the universe showing me how life is always happening and is amazing. I started to tear up thinking about how lucky I was to be in this universe and experience something truly amazing: Life. I wish other people could experience what seemed so simple at first but in the end it really dawns on you as you have a moment of yugen (A profound, mysterious sense of the beauty of the universe).
