@@SoNewOrleans1 yes if her dementia is alcohol induced she has the chance to help slow it down by proper care. But if it’s too late and the damage is done there is absolutely no way to recover it just progresses. Dementia both my grandmothers went through it was devastating 😢

South Florida is home! She was raised in Miami and attended the Cushman School and New World School of the Arts for high school. Alex received her Bachelor of Science in television and film production at St. John's University in New York City.
Alex has had the opportunity to cover a wide variety of stories so far at Local 10. In addition to the day to day news in the fast pace South Florida market, she has also traveled to cover big stories outside of the viewing area.
In October 2018, Alex covered Hurricane Michael in the Florida Panhandle. She was there reporting before, during and after the storm. Local 10 was the first South Florida station to send a crew to cover the catastrophic Category 5 storm that ravaged large portions of the Florida Panhandle. In addition to that, Alex also traveled to Pittsburgh to cover the horrific mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in October 2018. Yes and shame on everyone who mocked her, made fun of her, laughed and insulted her, when she had bouts of memory loss on the show, when her speech was affected, when she collapsed on stage, when they exploited her in the TMZ interview. All the while, this was happening to her unbeknownst to anyone. Frontotemperal dementia and aphasia. That should be a lesson to everyone to not judge what you do not know. I truly believe Wendy set the guardianship up herself, I recall her saying on several occasions that she didn’t trust anyone including family. This was long before her decline, it’s so heartbreaking to see this play out 🥲🥲 I’m definitely praying for her and her family ❤❤

We need to overhaul the guardianship system, i’ve been through something similar recently myself and a vulnerable relative was taken away whilst the “guardian” financially abused them and stole all their money and assets, despite us being family we were frozen and blocked from all communication and knowledge on the matter, as a family we went crazy trying to contact lawyers, organisations, police, case workers, anyone who would listen and we were told there was nothing we could do. We eventually got control but our relative had been left in debt and all their valuable assets gone, they not only stripped them of their wealth but also their dignity and even though we were family we had no other option but to sit back and watch it happen.
Its just like that movie- I care a lot. Sucks

From a fiduciary perspective, Wells Fargo had an obligation to step in and protect her financially, given her son's exploitive spending. On another note, it's standard procedure for people in treatment centers not to be allowed to accept phone calls.
Though it wasn't great news, that was the most sensible update we've had about Wendy in years.

This is so sad! Something needs to be done about these “guardianships”. Guardians are just as capable of exploiting the vulnerable as anyone else. The family she be the FIRST OPTION when it comes to looking after their own family members instead of some outsider, unless it’s proven the family is causing the person harm or taking advantage of them, they should be looked after by their family.

This is the type of stuff i believe people should worry more in politics and rights pf people. Conservaterships and elderly abuse. I work in a nursing home and there are countless stories of my clients getting used for their assests by their power of attorneys or guardians that leaves them with absolutely nothing , they can even end up homeless. This is the stuff that worries me more of those exploting vulnerable people. Rather than hearing people argue fringe politics like abortion rights or drag queens. Because this is the stuff that really matters more , and many people dont even think about it but we should because its part of aging

So, I do know what she's going through. I truly hope she gets the help she so desperately needs. After hearing what Whoopie said at the end of the show just broke my heart 💔 Wendy has the same illness as Bruce Willis. If it's not one thing it's another. Bless her heart.
