Well, I hope it is not your vision loss that is keeping you from doing what you love. Check out my video on adaptations for traveling, if you would like a few pointers to get motivated to get back out there again. Happy travels🧳

Hi! I found your channel through the video you did for WayAround about organizing clothes.
I was wondering if you had any tips on organizing jewelry? Since losing vision I have had some trouble easily distinguishing between stud earrings of similar types but different colors.
I’d appreciate any suggestions if you could. Either way I still really appreciate your channel and videos. I have gotten some great new ideas I’ve been trying out for myself in daily life and it’s improved my thinking about certain tasks already. Thank you so much for putting these up for free so we can all enjoy them. It really means a lot.

Hi Isabell. Your comment made my day. I am so glad that the videos have been meaningful to you and you have enjoyed them. You asked a great question. Fortunately, there are lots of jewelry organizers available to help. I use several different types of organizers which allow me to categorize by color and style. For example, I use one particular type of organizer for my every day casual jewelry and a completely different type of organizer for my fine jewelry. I keep gold and silver jewelry separated, since they are difficult to distinguish. And I try to keep certain color categories together. For example, I wear a lot of silver and black so I keep silver and black jewelry together and separated from my silver and red jewelry. If you don’t want to go on memory or tactual cues, I suggest getting a jewelry organizer that hangs on the back of your door that has mini tiny pockets for earrings and individual jewelry pieces. Then, you can tag each pocket with weight tag stickers, if you would like. This would be the absolute optimal way to label everything. I wish you luck and hope you continue watching. Let me know which system you choose. I would love to know what works best for you. No worries. You’ve got this. 😊

Hi Insight,I used to be home bound for f ive months here in 2022 due to the cataracts in both eyes that affected my very low vision and eyesight,on sept.12 my right eye was operated on and a month later I am now independent and on oct.26 I am going to have my eye operated on.
The only problem that I have with low light is in the basement even though there are two areas that have light fixtures and light bulbs it is either too much light or not enough light in the basement.I rent a townhouse with my senior mom and we share almost everything to make it easier at home in Edmonton

Hi Kim. It’s great to hear that you were able to have a procedure to remove your cataract. That’s awesome! Sounds like you’re doing really well.😅

how does a blind person fold sheets or blankets properly each time ?

    • @Insight4blind

Hi Margaret! I’m so happy to know you’re still watching. It’s good to hear from you. Towels and flat sheets are folded by lining up the corners. It may take patients to develop your technique, but it can be done with minimal frustration. Fitted sheets can be a little more of a challenge. My technique for them is to fold the corners over each other and lay it out on a flat surface to work out the wrinkles as I fold. Would it be helpful to have a video on this topic?
