I wish we could have got a more bonding moment with Luka knowing Adrien's identity because Marinette has Alya to open up to and understund her struggles with being a superhero bit Adrien never had anyone. Luka would have been a great support for Adrien in that sense.
Honestly it SUCKS that Adrien doesn't have anyone to go to for support. Plagg is awesome, but he's in dire need of a human confident. Nino is his best friend but he's a little too 'up there with the whole resistance. Chloe threw away her chance at being a sincere friend to him so she's out. Luka being pretty much a therapist for him, Marinette, and the others would make him the PERFECT confident, but they had Monarch figure out he knew LB and CN's identities WAY too soon! It feels like a waste

Luka is my favorite character and the fact that we are not going to permanently see he back again until everything is over is sad
Yes, it is a shocker and sad. But just like Alix and the love between our heroes, Luka can't be in Paris. No one is safe until Monarch is defeated for good. It's the only way.
Sad to say that Luka leaving was inevitable, he knew their identities but he couldn’t tell them that, or anyone for that matter, so he had no other choice but to try and live out his life while being cautious about his feelings since he knew Monarch was on the hunt for negative emotions. Luka wanted to know why his relationship with Marinette didn’t work out, and he got his answer, but now that Adrien is dating Marinette, Luka realizes that Adrien is facing the same problem where he is also realizing Marinette is hiding things, so he tries to comfort Adrien by telling him that people have all sides to them that others haven’t seen, but they’ll know each other better as time goes by, its just going to take time, giving Adrien the realization that he has a similar dilemma since not everyone knows his goofy nature when he is Cat Noir. Now, of course Luka will be back, but leaving Paris was his only option and by telling his closest friends his secret without actually tell them the heroes identities, he was at least able to ensure they understood is was just something he needed to do for his and everyone’s safety. What’s interesting is that Luka is the first on the team who will be traveling the world so it’ll be cool to know who he met and what he saw while away, now, how the others will handle his absence is something we will need to wait and see, especially since Monarch will still try to find him. Sad to say, Luka’s willingness to let go of complicated pasts and give others a chance as he believed anyone can change, marked his downfall. In the end, Luka learned the hard way that even if anyone can change, not everyone wants to, which is what happened with Bob.

You're on point with your analysis as ever, Luna! It's a simple episode in terms of its construction, but a very deep one in terms of its consequences. Monarch seems to be growing the ability, stronger than ever, to sense what his victims are thinking. That makes Luka a serious liability to our heroes, because he knows who they really are. Here, the creators have taken a page from Harry Potter - just as Hermione Granger modified her parents' memories and sent them abroad to protect them from evil, so Luka goes off around the world to eliminate the risk of being Akumatised and compromising Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Luka is, however, a very significant character, especially to Marinette and Adrien who each love him in particular ways. He has also proven himself to be unusually centred in his attitude and thoughts. It seems unlikely that his departure is permanent... he will be back, though it's not yet clear when or to what end.
This episode also brought the strongest confirmation yet that Rose is romantically involved with Juleka, as her song affirms that she loves her with all her heart. She went on to name other friends too, but perhaps that was to skirt around potential controversy - bearing in mind that this show is transmitted in parts of the world where there are, let's say, latent cultural sensitivites - and we can put her declaration together with other inferences from the previous four seasons and reach a fairly obvious conclusion!
At this point, you're 13 down and 13 to go before season 5 is complete. Yikes! (Got another one in there for you...)

Its so sad that Luka can't stay in Paris given he know the secret identities of Ladybug and Catnoir.
1) where you noticed the subtitles said something different…yeah. there are 2 versions of the English dub, one is the one you saw, and the other one says what the subtitles said. apparently which one you get depends on your TV provider.
2) i found this episode a bit underwhelming, considering everything that came right before it. still, i love the scene with Luka’s revelation - especially since it’s been almost 2 years since Wishmaker!
3) i love how everyone - like EVERYONE - has started freaking out during the pause in Rose’s song after “Juleka”, and then she starts saying other names and they’re just like “oh…”. myself included, of course!
I wanted Luka to bond with Adrien more!!!!!!

Hi Ivanarose!! I have actually been struggling over here, thank you for asking. My mental health has been a little bit up and down, which for some reason tends to happen during the summers. It's also a little crazy right now because my office is a mess so I haven't been able to get in to record anything... I'm going to be moving my office space very soon into a new part of the house ❤️😌
