What a brilliant reaction, dear Luna! There's so much to unpack, but you unpacked it well enough in your post-reaction ruminations.
This is, indeed, one of the strongest episodes and not just of season 5. It's well written, with an ingenious threading together of character and plot traits from past to present. Since season 1, Marinette's behaviour towards Adrien has been baffling and infuriating; now, we know that it isn't just silliness or craziness (though that can happen to anyone when they develop a crush on someone) but rather it's the fallout from trauma she experienced when acting on a previous crush. In a similar way, fans came to be disappointed that Chloe's redemption arc of seasons 2 and 3 was halted, but now it's clear that unpleasantness and selfishness have always been in her nature, thus her redemption was ultimately doomed.
While Adrien's rejection of Chloe as a friend is indeed a powerful moment for the series (and her "traitor" epithet at the end feels like a foretaste of what could be coming towards the end of this season), he impresses all the more with his understanding attitude towards Marinette as she struggles to make her feelings plain after their date. He knows that she went through something nasty; he knows that it's not something she can just get over, even though she knows she can trust him not to put her through anything similar. He's willing to be patient with her, and that shows that his character has matured a great deal from the clueless boy he was in earlier seasons.
I feel like Chloe is beyond redemption right now after watching this episode.

She is the worst character and I have heard that she is not back in season 6 and I said good riddance because even Tom the creator of ladybug does not like her. then why created this girl at all ? Because high school !? i don't know.

A lot of people didn't like this episode because it apparently "assasinated" Chloe's character even though she has always been a mean person who only thought of herself and creates a lot of "plot holes" even though it does quite the opposite. We've known since Origins that Marinette has been bullied by Chloe for at least 3 years and this episode we finally get to see the specific thing that she did that gave Marinette trauma over confessing to a boy that she loves.
Before this episode, one could assume that Marinette's control freak behaviour was due to a fear of rejection as a result of a low self-esteem coming from being bullied by Chloe for 3 years but after "Kwami's Choice", we see that fear of rejection was never the problem because now that she knows that Adrien likes her back and she no longer running away from her feelings due to her duties as Ladybug, she still isn't able to express her feelings towards Adrien.
Of course, similar to Chloe, Marinette having a tragic backstory doesn't excuse her actions but unlike Chloe, Marinette is willing to make the effort to become a better person and recover from her trauma.
It was established since season 1 that Marinette was severely bullied by Chloe for years, but people didn't really want to think to what extent, well, it was to the point when Marinette had little to no self confidence. Unlike the years before, the reason we don't see chloe go to such extremes to bully Marinette now, is because Marinette learned to stand up for herself and defend herself. When Marinette started dating Luka, she didnt need to be as cautious because he had no connection to Chloe, and because she got to know him better under more normal means and realized he would always be there for her. But with Adrien, its different, she is barely getting to know him after realizing that the image of perfection she always imagined him as, and was advertised as, was not the real him. Back in "Ephemeral", Marinette was able to accept Adrien much more easily because she realized that no matter what she went through, Adrien was always there for her as Cat Noir. But now, its different since they dont know each others identities, Adrien built his trust with Ladybug, but he doesnt have that same trust with Marinette just yet, so its harder for her to accept that she can love him without fear of what wrong could happen.

@@Luna-TK no problem. I should also add that what happened in Cat Blanc was not supposed to happen, it was a timeline of events that were never meant to exist, which is why Bunnyx had to step in.
this is probably the smallest part of the episode, but one of my favourites: did you see Sabrina’s face at the end? we saw something similar in Perfection. it looks like we might see Sabrina’s rebellion against Chloé soon, and i couldn’t be more excited about it!
There were some who theorized a few years ago that Sabrina would be more willing to leave Chloe the moment she realized chloe had no respect for her. Lila joining their group is really making it clear to her where she stands with Chloe in terms of their friendship.
Just wait till you watch the episodes of Protection, Emotion, pretension, revelation, and confrontation, this is where it gets all the feels💖💖😭😭😵✨

This is such an amazing episode. Now I understand Marinette's behavior towards Adrien. She's been through a traumatic experience with Kim. I didn't know she had a crush on him, and Chloe ruined that. I feel so bad for Marinette. She deserved better.
And that's exatly why I hate this episode. The writers are excusing her creepy and very much illegal behavior in the earlier seasons.

I loved Chole and I still do, but god do I hate her at the same time. I always find myself liking the mean characters and Idk why but I just do. I liked seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4 Chole because she was mean but still very likeable. Season 5 idk what happen. Wait, I do know why. Its cause of Lila and Adrien breaking up their freindship. Thats why😒

This is one of the best episodes in my opinion ! As someone who suffers from an anxiety disorder and that has been bullied during middle school i related a lot to Marinette. Im so happy that we have an episode talking about bullying, its usually a taboo topic in cartoons ❤

I dropped show at season 4 and to see marinette fall in love with kim shows poor writing lmao- like what is this show at this point? miraculous will always retain status quo nothing will change and yes i have seen leaks for ebd of s5 with adrienette kiss but adrien will be sent to london so they will always be separated so they can milk show- or they will make them lose memories or something to separate them.

* actually ep23 of s5 not end but still my point stands- in season 6,7 and up the writers will probably drag adrienette plot with either separating them or losing memories thats my prediction- yes i know at the end of s5 ep26 adrienette will be together in leaks but what makes you think in further seasons writers wont use some separating for example lila.
And also Bloom never stalked Sky and if she did it was never the amount of extreme marinette stalks adrien .Also Bloom only attacked diaspro in season 1 because she thought she was one of bad witches- Trix.
