- Intermittent or failing key fob? Here’s how to renovate and fix some common wear issues with the Lucas 2 button fob used in Rover, MG and Landrover cars. The push button switches can corrode and become difficult, the button end may detach, both fixed by soldering on a new button. Battery and case also changed with parts only about £4. Make yourself a nice new remote fob! This job was on the Lucas 3TXB fob, may be applicable to other models.

Hi there , I’ve changed my ccu on my FL 1 td4 , I can’t sync my key fob ? does it need programmed or is there a procedure ?
The usual procedure to sync is keep repeatedly pressing about 4 times lock and then unlock x4. Try repeating a few times if it is able to sync it will. If it is unmatched to ccu it won’t and will need programming i think.
The ccu is unmatched to the key fob ☹️ I’ll try again to pair today 👍🏻
@@gixxercorona sounds like it will need programming then, as you can’t use any old key fob / ccu combination otherwise you would be able to open any car.

So you did not take the battery out then
I checked the voltage, which was ok at 3v. (8mins). So didn't change it. It is however often best to change the battery to save time later, see the comment at 9mins about syncing up again afterwards.
