I actually made this cover 5 years ago, but didn't release. Recently, I went back to it and tried to "fix" as much I could.
It's decent enough. Though, I wasn't able to replicate some of the synths and at minute 1:25 it gets a bit weird. It works in Furnace Tracker but some stuff might not work. Why? Well, it's a Deflemask module (Furnace didn't exist at the time).
1:23 MAAAA-SCHIIII-NEEEE!
(thank you very much for including the third syllable which isn't present in the english version, made my day)
I've seen genesis covers of other video game music, so it's really nice to see some synthpop classics getting the same treatment!
Love the way you change the timbre of the bass on FM1 as it plays, as well as the beeping sound on FM5 in the middle! Great job :)
It's incredible how good this sounds
you are making the music I wished I had 15 years ago when I first discovered Kraftwerk as a young lad into chiptune. This is a dream come true ❤
❤
You are a gentleman and a magistrate :D
Oh hi, I like your Mario 64 covers :D
damn son
amazing
The original has a slow and subtle change in the sound you mapped to channel 3. I know this would be a pain to write, but that would make this 99% the original thing (and probably it will be marked by copyright checks, and that would prevent us to enjoy it).
How in the hell did you get the FM to say "Machina".
It would be a nice thing to know how much commands the IC accepts to make it speak through the FM channels modulating.
It's actually not that difficult, I'm just changing the values of multipliers of the individual operators as the envelope is playing. (if you want to see how the song is put together, download the file in the description and open it with Deflemask tracker )
The FM Bass isn't actually saying any words, is just sounds "close enough".
There's actually a game for MS-DOS called KGB/Conspiracy that simulates speech by doing something similar.
Thanks. My sperm donor used to play kraftwerk and Tupac when I was a kid. Sure there were others but those two were only associated with the pleasant memories. He passed in October and we've not spoken in 16 years. Ironically around the time I decided to permanently stop dating. I will be the world's greatest engineer. But I still gotta get the talents from prodigies.
I am a meat popiscle and your post speaks to me.
