We wanted our first campground as new full time RVers to be special. So in mid February 2020, we drove away from our home of 23 years and went to Wekiwa Springs State Park & Campground. We wanted to experience The Real Florida.
Florida State Parks often have larger sites, spread further apart, and with many trails than private campgrounds. This campground did not disappoint. And it is a short walk to Wekiwa Springs- about a mile.

“Wekiwa Springs State Park campground has 60 single-family full hookup campsites and is located close to the emerald springs that feed the Wekiwa River. The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RV’s. There are also group, primitive, and equestrian (with corral) campsites available. All campsites have full hookups, tables, fire rings, and grills. Wekiva Springs campground has a dump station, water, restrooms, and showers. Firewood is also available for sale at the campground.”

Hi guys. Great tour of the park. We were there in December 2019 on Site 43. We loved the park. I would warn people with big rigs that the registration parking area is tight. We have a 43' 5th wheel and needed two side by side spaces in the parking area. Fortunately some people saw us drive in and knew we would need more space so offered to move for us. Other than that the place is very big rig friendly. We had a great time there doing lots of hiking on the trails. Your tour of the park brought back good memories. Thanks!
Hey. Good point. We try to show in the tour the roads. That way you know what your rig can handle. So hopefully someone will see this comment. Ours is only 35’ but we could see it could be tight. Some parks were built before the big rigs of today. Ever been to Hanna Park in Jacksonville? Now that is tough in big rigs 🤣. Thanks for sharing. Take care. Alice

Have been here many times. Lovely park, comfortable sites and the springs and canoeing are the best. Close to Publix for groceries. Always have a great stay.

Thank you for this video, I actually have reservations for this summer with the family but after seeing this video thinking about canceling I didn't see not one lot with tents only RVs. You see our family camping tradition is to sleep in an actual tent, I am not even sure if actual tents are allowed thats why I am looking for info about this place. Love your video very detailed, thank you.
Yenissa, we camp at many state parks where people tent in different areas or in sites that can fit RVs. We tend not to film tent areas. Sorry. I would call the actual ranger station at that park and ask them.

I love Wekiwa, and will be camping there for the first time this week! I tried to go snorkeling last week, but the way things worked out, we didn't arrive until nearly eleven... and I guess the pandemic has forced the parks to reduce their max capacity. Well, they can't turn me away if I'm already factored into their numbers!

Downsizing Makes Cents I do not have the app but would very much like thane of the artist. As I was watching the Weikwa Springs campground video, the song that played; I thought that was the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. It was so peaceful.
We use a lot of Cody Francis. The first song is called “We’re Gonna Be Okay” but you might want to get the Shazam app anyway. It’s free. And you can find out any song you hear using your phone. Alice

Can you get to the springs from the campground? or do you have to drive to it?
It’s about a 10 minute walk - not like Silver Springs or Rainbow Springs where they are very far away
Has anyone gone recently?? What time do you suggest to get there with COVID going on??

Dogs are allowed but not near the springs. State parks don’t allow dogs near springs or beaches in Florida.
I never saw any rules about bikes either way.
You can always call the ranger station to make sure.
Where can I get the florida state parks passport books?
Misty, I bought mine at the Silver Springs State Park gift shop. I looked at the Florida State Park website and it reads they will have a list where to buy them. Sorry. I wish I could give a definite link. It’s a great book.
