- Russians interviewed by Reuters on Friday (February 9) in Moscow's city centre said they took a great interest in an interview given by Russia's President Vladimir Putin to conservative talk-show host Tucker Carlson on his channel Tucker Carlson Network.
The interview was released late at night at 2 a.m. Moscow time, but most of the people were aware of the interview and some even said they watched it in whole. The interview became top news on Russia's largest TV channels and was widely covered. One of the channels even launched a countdown till the start of the interview.
Putin's interviews marked the first time the Russian leader has spoken to an American media outlet since before the start of what Russia calls a "special military operation" in Ukraine.

Let us know what you thought of Tucker Carlson's interview with President Putin.
Have your say in the comments 👇
Whyyyyy!! Bc You don’t like free speech so I won’t tell you what I really think…you can’t handle the truth!
Shows Putin is 100% switched on and all this news about him being on his death bed is complete nonsense
Your Ukrainian nazi army pr bullshit has and still is costing thousands of lives
Why have you been pushing state propaganda narratives for years? Are you a media arm of British intelligence?
That's not him that's one of his doubles.
And now Tucker should interview Biden and lets see how that comedy will play out
and MSM Putin, let's see how that plays out as well lol...
And ask Biden about the pipeline Putin claims was blown up by the CIA and ask Bill Clinton about denying russia into NATO. But i bet Biden will say it's not true and Bill will say he doesnt remember
It will probably end up just interviewing about ice cream 2h long conversation 😂😂
Could not agree more
Tucker is not a very good journalist. That's why he's been fired from every new outlet he's ever worked for.
I'd love to see a 2 hour Tucker Carlson interview with Biden. I want to hear Biden talk about the history of US for 30 minutes.
They can't pump that much drugs into him to keep him upright and coherent, as we've seen regularly
After you! 😂
Biden can't competently speak for 2 mins dude your hoping for a miracle lol
He'll be talking about US piramids and how Tutanchamon was the most influential US president ever.
I can't wait. 😂😂
we'll never see a russian journalist interview Biden for 2 hours , that would be comedy gold
seing Biden sleeping for 1.9 hours wouldnt, for sure)
Just go ahead and watch this interview with Putin. We laughed hard in Russia
Sounds like an SNL skit 😆
It's quite cruel to russian journalist though. Putin is 20 years talk with western politicians, so he kinda used to tolerate dumbness, but russians in general don't used to it. It's a torture to have such an interview.
Did you ever see a Russian journalist ?
Mainly I noticed the Russians on the street seemed intelligent and rational and - normal.
In real life we are not like "russians" in Guy Ritchie movies ))
Haha, yes, but we don't just "seem," we actually are all those things!
And lacking in higher brain function.
I’m an Englishman in Moscow, and the Russian people are bright, kind, hospitable and intelligent.
Just like everywhere else
In my opinion Putin hasn't told anything new (for Russians). The novelty is that his words has been sounded widely in West.
I was very surprised when Tucker said that Americans had not ever heared voice of our president. It's odd because Russian media shows Biden's speeches, shows leaders of China, Japan, India, EU and so one.
That was his own opinion. The Western media constantly shows Putin.
@@viktorgv7937 Yes... and Biden is the lamb of God.. :)))
@@m.a3914 Yeah, they constantly show Putin but only ever small clips with no context and a twisted narrative. I have watch full interviews plenty of times and it is not as our English msm has made out, just like they've shown clips from the tucker interview.
This country is not controlled by its people. It is a network of elites that censor in a soft but effective way. Massive propaganda disguised as entertainment, and followed up with selective presentation of data.
Ideally, to them, an American would never want to hear what Putin had to say. When I played the interview a member of my own family became angry: Putin was just talking about Russian history, nothing offensive 😂 it is a disease, like sleeper agents everywhere. We are the new Soviets and I hate it. Americans are confused at Putin’s interview because they genuinely can no longer understand why a people would be deeply connected to its history and cannot understand that not every conflict is started and ended in a decade. America is so used to the slam dunk victory that it cannot comprehend that some struggles brew and continue for centuries
Can't wait to see Biden's two-hour interview with a Russian journalist
don't think he will last even 2 minutes :) him and his dementia

Why can't we just give peace a chance, I'm sure the American Russian, Chinese and Iranian people dont want war only the career politicians who stand to make billions of dollars
Nobody wants war.
Politicians must do a conversations
If only political leaders had a better sense of cooperation rather than play the economics and disintegration game that undermines their own or other nations…
But nope. They’re in bed with corporations for profit and give two big Fs for everyone else…
I mean, everyone on the american left wants to keep supporting the Ukraine war, ukranian nationalism is entirely based on crushing Russia at this point, China has thoroughly indoctrinated a part of the people to want to kill americans, and I'm pretty sure most of Iran hates the US' meddling in the middle east and would not be against pushing back.
The notion regular people are against war is a liberal lie.
Because during times of peace or war, there is always a number one, and the US will *NEVER* give that up willingly
Why do you hate people so much that you tell them to surrender their country?
I like that. I wish we could hear more what the Russian people have to say. If any Russian reads this post “hey from South Carolina wish you the best”.

Hi, there)) the overwhelming majority of Russians supports our president so you can be sure that what he says is actually our position as a nation. I personally think that it was not enough time for him to say everything he wanted, because it's not easy to explain the entire geopolitical situation just in 2 hours. And I also want to mention that he didn't use hard tactics by revealing many other crimes of the so called collective West establishment, though he could provide a lot of terrible facts and examples on that, but probably he just didn't want to humiliate good normal people in the West so he preferred not to do it.

The guy is a well controlled psychopath. Putin said, "Poland started World War 2 because they didn't work well with Hitler, so Hitler had no choice but to invade Poland"? No mention of Stalin's pact with Hitler to invade Poland together. It all makes complete sense if you are a complete idiot.
What idiot truck did you fall off. 😂
I especially loved how Putin let Carlson know that the Kremlin knew about his CIA career pursuits.
Aside from that, nothing you said is remotely true. Putin himself is reported to have been extremely disappointed with the interview and called Carlson “a snob, and useful idiot “.
everyone needs to see the full interview before making judgement
Facts Rc King!💯
I did and there weren't any real questions, like how many Russian casualties have there been and why any anti-war candidates aren't allowed in the presidential elections?
It is Putin. I have been listening to Putin ever since I could remember. He invaded my country, ethnically cleansed us for no reason, now he invaded Ukraine using same bs logic. It’s literally mind-numbing how westerners (who have *no* idea how terrible this guy really is) just believe his words for gospel.
This man has been saying the same things over and over again since 2008. He says he isn’t going to invade, he then claims they were “threatened” (they weren’t), and then he throws his sons out into a battlefield.
Part of my country he “liberated” for an ethnicity- *that only a few people belonged too,* the grand majority were regular people who wanted to join the west. *That’s it.*
I mean it’s absolutely crazy westerners think this guy genuinely wants peace or actually loves his country. Next thing you’re going to tell me is that Kim Jong Un is a smart guy (that’s the level of crazy I’m seeing right now).

A US report stated ( from the United States Congress Research Records) that the US launched more than 251 military interventions from 1991 to 2022 and a total of 469 since the year 1798. Yet Russia's military interventions from 1991 to 2022, are only 14 but the United States is 251, it's ridiculous how the United States calls Russia an aggressor and they have 251 military interventions. Half of the United States military interventions were after 1991 (which was the end of the Cold War) but it proves that the United States took full of advanced military invasions after 1991 because of its superpower status around the planet. There wasn't another country that could stop them but during the Cold War, the Soviet Union put the United States on check mark to keep the world peace. So the United States was getting away with its aggression after the Cold War for nobody to stop them in 1991 using the planet as its war playground.

This interview is the future of how we consume our news and information. A pivot point away from legacy media. The long form interview from independent podcasts is how we can obtain unfiltered and unbiased information. As far as Putin, I found him intelligent, patient and willing to negotiate. And he didn’t say anything that contradicts what Robert F Kennedy Jr. has said repeatedly over the last year about the Ukrainian War and how it should have been avoided.
People like Biden, Netanyahu, Nuland, and Zelenski would never submit to such an interview, though they have so much explaining to do. That said, it IS a perfect way to humanize and hear the actual side of the West's various "black beasts" -- who often seem much more reasonable and willing to negotiate than the West.

Putin said nothing new in particular. He stated his position clearly and coherently. That was expectable. The interview is helpful for the rest of the world, where most people are being fed with one-sided information about it being Russia's fault singlehandedly. However, it is very important to consider both sides of the story. Russia can't just give up on everything like Gorbachev did. Russia can't suffer humiliation like Soviet Union did in late 1980s. The conflict can be resolved only thorough negotiations, but both sides are unable to meet each others' demands for now. Let's hope it happens as soon as possible. These political games take millions of people's lives.
Russia isn't asked to give up on anything, just to stop invading neighboring nations and stay within Russia's internationally recognized borders. No negotiations are necessary for Putin to have peace, all he needs to do is to call off the invasion of Ukraine and let his soldiers return home. No-one is going to take the fighting back to Russia. It is literally Russia that is the aggressor here.

Putin speaks calmly and intelligently, while sending his military to invade neighboring nations, razing entire cities to rubble, and killing hundreds of thousands of people. The interview was very interesting with the history of Russia, but then Putin twisted the involvement of the USSR with Germany during WW2, he mentioned Poland striking a deal with Adolf but he just glanced over the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, not to mention the execution of the Polish officers in the forest near the border. There were points where Putin twisted the narrative, but he was right about CIA blowing up Nordstream 1, he constantly mentioned the promise of NATO not to expand to the east even though Gorbachev himself said that was a myth, that no such promise was made. It was refreshing I've watched the whole 2hr interview and I can say that he is extremely smart and cunning. Now I want to see Tucker interviewing Biden for 2hrs and to hear Biden talk about the history of the US, that would be a fun comedy to watch, seeing how his mental state is deteriorating and just recently he confused Mexico with Egypt.
And what did Hänse Dietrich Genscher say?
I don't understand why Putin had to talk about the execution of Polish officers if there are suspicions that this is a provocation? As for Gorbachev's words about "non-expansion to the east" and the lack of "papers", this is a lie. To find out the truth, you need to contact the American National Security Archive. It is there that the transcript of the meeting between US Secretary of State Baker and Gorbachev in 1990 is kept. You can verify this for yourself by typing the following phrase into Google: "16116-document-05-memorandum-conversation-between".
he mentioned Molotov-Ribbentrop agreement and Katyn investigation was fabricated, search for this information, if you want.

The matter of fact is Putin has pulled Russia back into the grip of imperialist authoritarianism that the Soviets used. Moreover, Ukraine is a Nazi state that was simply used to divide Russia and Europe. It is beneficial for the USA.
How much did the US military-industrial enterprises earn in this war? - That's a good question.
The thing is, Putin will certainly not stop at Ukraine.

Ukraine would be just the beginning, because if Russia would take over Ukraine, they'd have land that penetrates deep into the Europe defences and control of most of crops and natural gas energy. Ukraine has one of the greatest natural resources. If Russia controls Ukraine, it means that a lot of resources that are sold to Europe would be controlled by Russia.
