  • Russians interviewed by Reuters on Friday (February 9) in Moscow's city centre said they took a great interest in an interview given by Russia's President Vladimir Putin to conservative talk-show host Tucker Carlson on his channel Tucker Carlson Network.
The interview was released late at night at 2 a.m. Moscow time, but most of the people were aware of the interview and some even said they watched it in whole. The interview became top news on Russia's largest TV channels and was widely covered. One of the channels even launched a countdown till the start of the interview.
Putin's interviews marked the first time the Russian leader has spoken to an American media outlet since before the start of what Russia calls a "special military operation" in Ukraine.

I was very surprised when Tucker said that Americans had not ever heared voice of our president. It's odd because Russian media shows Biden's speeches, shows leaders of China, Japan, India, EU and so one.

This country is not controlled by its people. It is a network of elites that censor in a soft but effective way. Massive propaganda disguised as entertainment, and followed up with selective presentation of data.
Ideally, to them, an American would never want to hear what Putin had to say. When I played the interview a member of my own family became angry: Putin was just talking about Russian history, nothing offensive 😂 it is a disease, like sleeper agents everywhere. We are the new Soviets and I hate it. Americans are confused at Putin’s interview because they genuinely can no longer understand why a people would be deeply connected to its history and cannot understand that not every conflict is started and ended in a decade. America is so used to the slam dunk victory that it cannot comprehend that some struggles brew and continue for centuries

It’s literally mind-numbing how westerners (who have *no* idea how terrible this guy really is) just believe his words for gospel.
This man has been saying the same things over and over again since 2008. He says he isn’t going to invade, he then claims they were “threatened” (they weren’t), and then he throws his sons out into a battlefield.
Part of my country he “liberated” for an ethnicity- *that only a few people belonged too,* the grand majority were regular people who wanted to join the west. *That’s it.*

A US report stated ( from the United States Congress Research Records) that the US launched more than 251 military interventions from 1991 to 2022 and a total of 469 since the year 1798. Yet Russia's military interventions from 1991 to 2022, are only 14 but the United States is 251, it's ridiculous how the United States calls Russia an aggressor and they have 251 military interventions. Half of the United States military interventions were after 1991 (which was the end of the Cold War) but it proves that the United States took full of advanced military invasions after 1991 because of its superpower status around the planet. There wasn't another country that could stop them but during the Cold War, the Soviet Union put the United States on check mark to keep the world peace. So the United States was getting away with its aggression after the Cold War for nobody to stop them in 1991 using the planet as its war playground.

This interview is the future of how we consume our news and information. A pivot point away from legacy media. The long form interview from independent podcasts is how we can obtain unfiltered and unbiased information. As far as Putin, I found him intelligent, patient and willing to negotiate. And he didn’t say anything that contradicts what Robert F Kennedy Jr. has said repeatedly over the last year about the Ukrainian War and how it should have been avoided.

Putin didn't say anything we didn't know already! Americas economy is centered around war, has been since 2001, without a war the economy will crash which is why America needs an enemy and we've not had peace in 22 years! We know America is a Military Industrial Complex which Putin pointed out. We know that America installed Zelenski, we know that France, Germany, UK and Poland signed a peace deal that America told Ukraine to walk away from.........And we know Russia has been pushed to this point sadly. BUT, Russia IS the overt aggressor, Russia has directly caused millions of people in Ukraine to be displaced and Russian soldiers have committed w ar crimes.
As long as the American economy is linked to war they will continue to print money and give it to America companies to prop up the economy and we will never see peace again. That's the sad a real truth.

To be fair there are agendas on both sides of the quiet conversation, but it is pretty revealing that Putin has been saying the exact same things for close to 20 years and nobody in the western media and political structure seems to hear him. Russia asked if they could JOIN NATO after the USSR disbanded, glasnost and all that "let's be friends" time. The USA said "no, that doesn't suit our needs." Russia joining NATO would end the need for NATO, so I wonder what agenda the USA and European countries are advancing, and which Blackrock-like companies are really calling the shots.

Putin said nothing new in particular. He stated his position clearly and coherently. That was expectable. The interview is helpful for the rest of the world, where most people are being fed with one-sided information about it being Russia's fault singlehandedly. However, it is very important to consider both sides of the story. Russia can't just give up on everything like Gorbachev did. Russia can't suffer humiliation like Soviet Union did in late 1980s. The conflict can be resolved only thorough negotiations, but both sides are unable to meet each others' demands for now. Let's hope it happens as soon as possible. These political games take millions of people's lives.

Russia isn't asked to give up on anything, just to stop invading neighboring nations and stay within Russia's internationally recognized borders. No negotiations are necessary for Putin to have peace, all he needs to do is to call off the invasion of Ukraine and let his soldiers return home. No-one is going to take the fighting back to Russia. It is literally Russia that is the aggressor here.

The interview was very interesting with the history of Russia, but then Putin twisted the involvement of the USSR with Germany during WW2, he mentioned Poland striking a deal with Adolf but he just glanced over the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, not to mention the execution of the Polish officers in the forest near the border. There were points where Putin twisted the narrative, but he was right about CIA blowing up Nordstream 1, he constantly mentioned the promise of NATO not to expand to the east even though Gorbachev himself said that was a myth, that no such promise was made. It was refreshing I've watched the whole 2hr interview and I can say that he is extremely smart and cunning. Now I want to see Tucker interviewing Biden for 2hrs and to hear Biden talk about the history of the US, that would be a fun comedy to watch, seeing how his mental state is deteriorating and just recently he confused Mexico with Egypt.

The matter of fact is Putin has pulled Russia back into the grip of imperialist authoritarianism that the Soviets used. He has ruled for 24 years and in that time, Russian citizens have lost their freedoms and the economic prosperity that they had before 2014. He has killed his opposition and it was his choice that his country follow him into the abyss as over 500K people are dead. Countless dead so he can play 18th century emperor. He is an evil man, but that doesn't mean he can't be a charming figure.
My problem with the interview is for many Americans, this will be their first exposure to Putin because they have paid so little attention to the world. A bunch of people will watch it and start liking him while being unknowing of the situation in Russia and this man's crimes against the Ukrainian and Russian people. Hell, he was KGB in Germany. Probably crimes against the German people too.
The US is fair game to criticize, but let's not mistake his criticisms as justification for the many lives he has ruined.

Putin and Russian flails atomic bombs around like their dicks and expect that the rest of the world shouldn't care.
Ukraine would be just the beginning, because if Russia would take over Ukraine, they'd have land that penetrates deep into the Europe defences and control of most of crops and natural gas energy. Ukraine has one of the greatest natural resources. If Russia controls Ukraine, it means that a lot of resources that are sold to Europe would be controlled by Russia.
And we Finnish people from hundreds of years of history with Russia, we know never to trust the Russian government. We, out of all people of the Earth, know this probably the best. Never trust what they say, never trust their intents and never trust their 'facts'.
