@@Zorua3 I mean almost every reaction video on CZcams is just random person stares at a screen while eating or having no reaction but getting more money and more views than the original, or they scream out the thing that is happening while it is happening and laughing in a really shitty high pitched voice (this is general but is also LITERALLY SSSNIPERWOLF. My sister has her stuff on all the time). Every big reaction channel does this.

I feel like too many forget that a direct sequel to a game can take place in the same world can still be fun if you can do more stuff in said world.
It's like having a deck of same poker cards but you know a ton of other games that isnt poker for you to use the hand youre dealt with.
The whole reaction youtuber bit was basically taken word for word from a stream his brother Davey did 7 years ago reacting to reaction youtubers playing Beginner's guide.
It's called "Davey Wredens Livestream" on youtube, and it's one of the most meta things I've ever seen.
They spent a long time making that map for the first game, I didn't think they'd throw it away so soon, also there's no way the zelda team spent 5 to 6 years on this game without changing anything, there's so much they aren't telling us and that's what gets me excited

I agree. The weapon durability in BotW is genius. My issue with it is that the weapons dont have ENOUGH durability. An increase of 33% or a way to upgrade weapons in the late game to be permanent maybe with the fairy fountains would go a long way.
I agree with this, its rough when the good weapons in the game break easily and you're stuck with weak ones. I guess this is where fuse comes in, you can always make a strong weapon
100% agree. BOTW wouldn't work without durability but they should have given you an option to slightly increase durability (without modifiers) or to repair them.
My issue with it personally is that it just makes me end up avoiding the combat encounters because 90% of the time I'm fighting crappy enemies with crappy weapons and getting crappy monster parts in return, which isn't fun. And if you aren't fighting things, that leaves much less to do when you're going from place to place. It also doesn't help that exploration doesn't really feel like an activity to me in the same way as puzzles or combat, it's just a thing you do. But maybe that's just me. I'm open to the idea of liking TotK more but I'm also not getting my hopes up too high.

Did doug eat his words? Cuz even I felt a little put off on it being the same over-world and just the sky but then i found out pretty quickly it was changed pretty significantly and there was a lot of sky islands. Not only that, a whole ass underground section that’s the size of the whole map.

I think the durability wouldn't be such an issue if it excluded an item or two. Primarily, the Master Sword. For some reason it has all the durability in the world for fighting Ancients and Calamity shit, but you hit a bokoblin three times and the sword of legend shatters, and you gotta wait for it to repair itself. It's perfectly fine if people like the durability system, but it would be greatly appreciated if we had the option to turn it off, or at least adjust it. Sure, branches and stuff are supposed to break easily. But there is no logic to an enemy being able to hit you hundreds upon hundreds of times with their weapon, but when it's in your hands, it breaks in ten or twenty hits. Hell, make it break for enemies as well, and when their weapon breaks, have them make a mad scramble for the closest weapon around. That could lead to interesting and fun situations in which you and the enemy lock eyes before running toward that branch in the distance to finish the fight, and who ever doesn't get it has to improvise or withstand the Assault. That would make the durability so much more fun, I feel.
I like your idea of the enemy breaking their weapon. However your idea of having the option to turn it off would be fundamentally broken.
The game is designed so that weapons break. If you could turn it off you could just run to Hyrule castle with a potlid. Parry or Block guardian lasers. Pick up a royal sword and beat the game
@SquidlyTV Fair. I guess a way to balance that would be to lock off the castle from entry until you have done the divine beasts and/or obtained the master sword. But at that point it stops feeling like the original Legend of Zelda where you could just run up to Ganon's fight at the start of the game with no upgrades or anything.
Doug should've compared the ash of war system in Elden Ring, not the weapons. Thats why you dont find many weapons in dungeons, but you find ashes that can be swapped around and played with regardless of your main weapons.
