    Hi Arthur, good review about ramen. I had the impression before that you only did Chinese cuisine reviews but actually you have done other food reviews ranging from Asian to Middle Easterner and American fast food. Good job for covering all kinds of food.

    Excellent video. Arthur is the awesome. Love seeing him eat. I need to visit Fort Lee. I’ve driven through Fort Lee many times but never actually visited…..BTW I remember in the old days when a bowl of ramen was around $8 in Manhattan but during that time it was an unknown dish in the restaurant world by the mainstream. Most Americans just knew the instant version

      I've been racking my brains, but can't remember my first ramen experience in Manhattan. Do you remember any of the OG ramen spots in Manhattan? or the rest of the city for that matter?

      @@minutereviewshow I only remember the one a little north of Times Square, I think around 50th street. I forgot the name because this was before social media around 2005-2010 era. I know I didn’t have a smart phone because the iPhone didn’t make its debut until 2007.

      @@ramencurry6672 Yes! I think I remember that place. It was run by Japanese people, I think around 49th and 7th Ave. Yes, that place was called Sapporo. I think that was the first one that kinda made a name for themselves. But the big wave came when Ippudo hit New York in the early 2010's. Did you ever try Sapporo?

      @@minutereviewshow …..Also (in addition to my previous response) ….Ippudo ramen restaurant became very popular in NYC around 2013 or maybe a little earlier. I think Ippudo was the restaurant that exposed many New Yorkers to restaurant ramen. But the ramen restaurant I ate at before (in the earlier 2000s) was less fancy and more utilitarian. I’m guessing it’s not there anymore or changed into a more fancy version or something else

      @@minutereviewshow Yes I think you are correct. Sapporo was most likely the name. The address you mentioned sounds accurate

    This place looks okay. If i was in the area maybe i would go for this, but if you are in queens / long island area, Bayside has a few ramen spots that are really good. I love the spicy miso at both Nipponcha and Tamashii ramen on bell blvd. The Kyuramen is pretty good too but i usually order their omurice.

    Japanese 101. There is no pork bun in Japan. So this is not authentic…

    • @minutereviewshow
      @minutereviewshow  Před 21 dnem

      I believe they were trying to fill out the appetizer part of their menu. But nonetheless that pork bun was alright.

      Sir, leave Arthur alone. He knows what he’s doing. You can find pork bun in Japan or any Chinese food. I’ve seen shu mai in Tokyo I’ve seen spicy chili oil too as an option in Osaka and even minced raw garlic. Anything is possible. There’s no real rules unless if the restaurant is trying to clone a particular style
