I proposed to my now wife on a traditional landau, on the last illuminations Saturday of 1995! We try and have a ride each year to celebrate but have avoided the pink ones so far, getting harder each year, though, as they're taking over!
We're off to Blackpool by train in a couple of weeks, so we'll eat at Yorkshire Fisheries, as it's only a short walk to North Station.
When you're next in Blackpool get Stephen to take you to the Bispham kitchen, as not only is the food great (including the fish & chips) but he can show you his photos on the walls!
Very cruel those horse carriage rides. There have been numerous complaints to the council. The horses are lame but forced to work. They have a very poor quality of life and no quality down time. I wish people would think twice about them

Me too. All the exhaust fumes, motorbike noises, beer monsters and screaming brats, these horses are saints they don’t deserve this sort of life. They look exhausted by the end of the day.

I think the pink carriage would have been a big no for me- with another bloke anyway. Obviously the crowds thought you too were a pair of those that dance at the other end of the ballroom. Anyway the horse needed a walk as it looked bored stiff. £20 will get it a bag of oats. Great wonder a seagull did not nick that stuff while you two were peeing about. Excellent filming and beautiful colours.

Another great upload boys 😂 Yorkshire Fisheries my go to for fish and chips Deff No 1 in Blackpool but you mentioned Tower Fisheries it’s on Topping street that wee place can’t be beaten for Value for money lovely prepared fresh fish and chips lovely place to sit in and can’t be beaten for price and Value I tried the Cottage once outside Blackpool and I prefer Tower Fisheries and Yorkshire Fisheries 👍
I've just seen that Macmaster and his mate in a pink carriage, finally swopped his electric car for a horse! Surprised the seagulls didn't invite themselves to dinner!

How camp were you two in that pink Princess Carriage? 🤣😂🤣 Got to say, though, that the old Landaus were more classy, and one did make a brief appearance in this vlog, and to me they 'were' Blackpool, along with the Tower and the old Trams! And YES, Knickers, Knackers, Knockers was Cosmo Smallpiece, one of the great Les Dawson creations.
Blackpool certainly looks a lot more appealing when the sun is shining. That's not saying much, but still, it's a big improvement.

Wow! With the heavy overcast clouds gone & the sun now shining brightly, Blackpool looks like a completely different place to your previous videos from the past few days. The streets, buildings and waterfront just looked dreary, wet & plain miserable before however now with the sun out I can possibly see Blackpool's attraction as a desirable seaside "destination".

To me curry sauce that goes with chips should be mild and slightly creamy. You want the curry flavour but you still want to taste your chips!

You're actually wrong. It's all controlled by the council and all the horses are looked after. I spoke to The Councillor of Blackpool. They are very strict.

Yorkshire Fisheries seems to take the No.1 most popular chippy in Blackpool spot, everyone talking about it. What a beautiful day up there in Blackpool the town looks pretty busy. I can remember The Dick Emery Show two episodes were filmed here in Great Yarmouth mid 70s I’m guessing.
