happy february, and with it, we've got the Past/Present anthology here on the channel! this year's new take on the Springback/Valenweek formula of old. over the course of the month, we'll take a look at eight key events in the relationships of the channel, four flashing back to the past, and four in the present. this time around, we've got a look into the present with Asher!

At this point your doing gods work..
You know, now that we have all three wolf bois (talk of) proposal audios, it kind of makes sense as to why David and Asher wanted to be married, whereas Milo is fine without it. If looking at it from a completely unempowered v. empowered perspective, Angel and Babe are unempowered whereas Sweetheart is not. It's like the merging of the cultures. They'll always be mates, but getting married acknowledges the human half of the pair. Sweetheart is familiar with how all the different empowered groups function, growing up in that world themselves, so they didn't necessarily expect a legal marriage when they started dating Milo.
All this to say, (I didn't mean to get all essay-y lol) I'm very happy that it worked out for all the wolf bois, the way they wanted. (Plus Milo and Sweetheart give me aaallll the DINK vibes ✨️) Happy Valentine's! 💛

(also just want to shoutout the soundscaping that always feels *so* intentional and crafted, and never *just* a backtracking for the scene overtop of it. It shifts as naturally as the scenes do, and it makes everything feel so much more alive. Something as small as the footsteps stopping during a kiss, or the voices muffling to let you know that they're hugging, or just well placed rustling of fabric or creaking of furniture to let you "see" how the characters are moving in a medium with zero visual elements - it is so impressive.

Him being so confused about what was happening when Babe got down on the floor, a truly iconic moment for Asher 🤣🤣🤣 and then the little whispered ~babe~ when he figured it out made my heart fly straight out of my chest oh god. Each of these has felt so perfect for the characters, I never really thought marriage or proposal talks in these audios would mean much to me but each of them have touched me in different ways I didn't expect. Asher, I just want to grab your face and love you to infinity. My heart is all over the place, I haven’t even been able to fully process the sweetness, the love, the openness, the dang cute fact they both were going to propose to each other. The feeling of working hard toward something, everything you put your all into, but still questioning whether you are deserving of it all, really hit. Oh Asher, it is enough, you’re more than enough and deserving.
I find it absolutely beautiful when people embark on this journey with one another and learn more about themselves than they ever bargained for. It can be painful but so rewarding all at once, especially knowing there is someone by your side, not going to let you go. In those moments, you know, they are holding onto your hand, even when you need space, their presence is there, the support is there, the love, too, so much love.
Caring for someone really changes us in such a deep level, wanting the best for them, and practicing patience, knowing when it’s the right moment for action or to simply listen. I see this as a sapling being nurtured, through the harsh weather, but also embracing the clear skies, the bright sun, watching the sapling grow. The love and intention to see this sapling grow is what helps not only the sapling flourish but the one caring for the sapling as well.
I could feel the tenderness, the warmth in Asher’s chest. You are so special, so loved, too, Asher. I cannot say it enough, the love I felt in everything put together in this audio was astronomical. The script, the emotions coming in so strongly in the voice acting, and the careful thought into all the details, from each laugh, hug, kiss, everything flowed so beautifully. Wow, I have been left in awe, Erik, this was everything, just everything needed right now. Thank you for all you do, always.
