@Ace They are the Hydraulic demand pumps, used for supplying Flaps, Gear etc. during the need for high hydraulic demand. Such as before T/O and Landing.
This is my dream. Maybe not the job but I have something weird with big, high tech engines and machinery. May I ask what do you love working on the most?
At 0:35 is when N2 reached maybe 25 and the fuel cutoff switch was turn on for both engines 1&2. This is a 787, which is capable of a dual engine start. In case anyone was curious 🤷🏾♂️
We don't put fuel cutoff switches on at a certain n2 during start like in older types. It's overhead start switches to start, fuel control switches to run then leave it to sort itself out.
I flew the QF787 PER - MEL earlier 2023. Seated 12K. Yes business class... I was absolutely amazed that the whole aircraft began to vibrate in resonance with the engines spooling up. They are some serious propulsion units. Then the flaps rolled out... It was a magnificent flight.... At 41 000 feet, my Jack Daniels barely rippled...
Amazing sounds love the engines start up Always gives me a buzz love flying looking forward to fly On the tui Dreamliner 787 next year to punta Cana from Manchester flying In premium class so excited
I always liked watching the preflight control surface check and engine startup, it’s pretty cool how all that stuff works. Sucked when they did the safety brief during it

My floors vibrating through speakers
@DarksdripV2 dagalindo JAL. Flight 65.
The 787/777 have serious hydraulics and Boeing is not ashamed to let everyone know they're working, Love It!!
LSp8 it sounds amazing
The 777 has a bit quieter flaps
The A220, or originally Bombardier C-series also had some loud hydraulics!

me,too
Every 787 Dreamliner I have boarded had this hydraulic sound.
That feeling through the floor. We're about to go flying :D

best sound ever!
I worked at El Dorado Airport in Bogotá and the thing i miss the most is the sound of the 787 engines firing up. Thanks for the video.
OMGosh those 787’s make some amazing noises!
Lovely engine sound, like the Millenium Falcon!! 😍😍😍😍
Wow this in headphones is incredible

the sound of 77,000 horsepower
That sounds fantastic but really loud
I like it when the plane ✈️ moved straight
Of the newer engines the GEnx sounds the best!
It sounds exactly like the GE90 during startup except the GE90 vibrations

Its Flaps

I hate to say, but that was the HYDRAULIC system that sounded like the Federal Signal Modulator *electronic* warning siren.
The fact that i knew exactly where this plane was and going just from the thumbnail. MCRD SD, and JAL is the only 787 operator that goes to SD

Blimey, wonder what mic was used to record this?
It was just my cell phone. Samsung Galaxy S6, at the time I think. Terrible quality.
@@tredunlimited in comparison to a studio mic maybe. but as far as phone mics go, its top notch even by todays standards. see my comment above lol

both of u r correct
GEnx sounds like GE90 startup
Well, if it wasn't for the hydraulic boost pumps running, you'd hear the engine start, and run better.
1:26 787 flaps
Hydraulics*
thats the over wing hydraulics to POWER the flaps! you were close though!
Which thing is activated / ignited ,& responsible for transition of sound between 1:26- 1:30 ????
