the most beautiful wing from any angle with or without flaps and spoilers deployed on a big commercial jet i have ever seen, and the spoilers deploy in a way the plane doesn't bounce like others.

Because of this global pandemic thing affecting air travel, I haven't been able to fly off and enjoy the plane journey experience. This video is the next best thing as I'm always fixated on the window view (i do my best to get a window seat).. take off/mid flight and especially landing. I last flew the BA 787-900 in Oct 2019 LHR-AUH (and return)

One of the cool things about the 787 is that it has spoileflaperons(in between both sets of flaps). It can work 3 jobs! spoiler, flap and aileron.

I didn't notice the engines spool up at landing. Did they not use the thrust reverses?
Great question, I'm actually not sure!
Could be that they threw out the reversers but kept the engines at idle or close to it. Certainly not unheard of
Is the whine this annoying when you're actually on bored and is it like it for the whole flight? I don't usually find any plane noises annoying but just making sure haha
I think it was just on takeoff on landing when more of the wing surfaces are in use, it's pretty peaceful during cruise!
It's the hydraulic motor which makes a whining sound because it's electrically operated. The sound occurs during take-off and landing to keep flaps in the selected positions.
Hard landing man...sheesh 😒 I felt that and I wasnt even on that flight....so far Air Canada and ANA has the smoothest 787 pilots man

Why wouldn't he know? He needed to slow his airspeed in the glideslope
