This is my own interpretation of this song. Their drummer, The Rev, passed away before this album. I think everything on this album was done with that in mind. Even the album title Nightmare, because their best friend and an integral part of the band was now not there. This particular song maybe is about the pressure from producers and fans and even themselves who were wanting the next album. The pressure of their lives were building up until they felt buried alive.

Hey guys, long time A7X fan here. From what I gather from the lyrics is its was all about the emotional state of Matt (the signer) about A7X after the death of the Rev (their first drummer and best friend).
So overall, why going back to the grind and endure a dream you can't enjoy no more? Yes everyone is looking at you while you're on the stage, but is there a given understanding of the discomfort felt with the awkwardness of the situation of watching someone suffer loss?
Just my interpretation, but this song is probably my favorite from them. I know you reacted lately to MIA, but you should check out Save Me or Strength of the World if you liked the progressive/dynamic aspect of this band

The song was wrote before the rev died. The song at the beginning is the person living their best life thinking they will get into heaven only to realize it wasn't enough and to be turned away. Then the song descends down to hell to where they are stuck for eternity

This style A7X used in Buried Alive is very similar to Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven and Metallica's One with two different choruses with different tempos. There haven't been many songs that do 2 or more choruses well, but Buried Alive is one of them. Hence why some refer to this song as Avenged Sevenfold's version of Stairway.

Definitely more Avenged A7X would be great, particularly the album "City of Evil".Don't know if would do a live performance but the best live performances are Rock AM Ring, and Live in the LBC. Also try a different artist called The Agonist, they are certainly lesser know compared to avenged sevenfold but they have a ton of great songs. Especially from the album "Lullabies of the Dormant Mind".
