Congrats! Short deck is definitely a different beast to normal Hold'em. 6-A deck, Aces plays for the low straight (A+6-9) and flushes beat Full Houses. It can take a bit to acclimate to short desk strategies, but there's a lot of action!
Depends which rules are being used, but three of a kind beats a straight in some games as well.
“Been a really tough year. Well not year, two weeks.” Lmaoo just goes to show how much weight a bad run can put on your shoulders.
Some of a bad run but he’s been aggressively gambling to much. He was very good when he first started because he was tricky. The more I watch the more he’s just a gambler. Just like his full house he didn’t raise or anything because he was scared. It wasn’t because he wanted to change his game. He wanted to save chips and not gamble and got paid.
@@moneymakinjosh0161 I get this is 6 months ago and he just won big but at this time that was a bad play. he said in the video no merit to raising but there is. only thing that could beat you was Q10 and some people might still pay you off with 1 pair or something they missed just to see what you had. Its worth the attempt and even better if they do end up folding (like most of the time they will) because you don't have to show your hand and that works on their minds too on ''what could he of had''? then they want to call your next raise even more. that's poker.
7:00 You say' "Let's fade the flush draw." I believe he also had a gut-shot straight A-6-7-X-9
We’ll done Ethan. Always rooting for your success. You needed the “W”!
I remember accidentally signing up to a short deck tournament without realising once. I couldn't believe the sun run I was having, with so many good pocket hands, but was puzzled how I wasn't smashing the opponents and how they always had steamers too lol. I think I actually just about cashed too, but realised half way through what I was playing lol (I think my misplaced aggression helped though).
there is no way this story is true. why do people feel the need to fabricate these fake ass stories? "I think I actually just about cashed"? lmfao.....
@@KrnRnner This was like 5-10 years ago, my memory of the event isn't great due to the timeframe we're talking. It wasn't particularly memorable, and I only thought about it because of this vid. I think I cashed and got knocked out close after the bubble, but I'm not sure as it was so long ago and I've played hundreds of tournaments since. It was very close to the bubble, that much I remember for certain, I can't remember if I busted out just before or just after, but "I think I actually just about cashed".
It was literally a £1 buy in tournament on pokerstars... hardly the most remarkable wild claim lmfao, it's not like I'm saying I won an WOSP bracelet of something. Min cash for these tournaments are like £1.20 lol. If you think that's so unbelievable it can't be true, I would hate to see how boring your life is!
I bet you think your spose is cheating on you and check their phone and shit, you need to get out more.
@@DaftFader five to ten is such a huge timeframe, lying confirmed. how can you not distinguish 2017 from 2012? especially it being a "£1 buy in shortdeck online tourney on pokerstars" during those years, yeah right..... it's not that i don't think it is unbelievable so it can't be true. it is that you are a clear liar just to discuss conversation.
my reply was 3 sentences. look at your OP comment and your reply, you talk so damn much just to talk. even as far as to randomly unnecessarily bring up spouses and cheating and getting out more? lmfao, you played "hundreds of tournaments" online and im the one who needs to get out more?
@@KrnRnner Dude, you're suffering from paranoia
I remember playing Royal Poker and being amazed at the strength of the hands I was making
It happens
Can't wait for a 2-7 triple draw vlog
He don't know what's that game and how to play it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Should totally play mixed like I told you last time…we should make it happen lol
I don’t know the first rule but that hasn’t stopped me before
Ethan Thanks for uploading this vid. I was one of the final lucky 4 with you (sat to your left on FT). I waited ~3 months for this and glad to see 3 of my hands made it to the final cut including my failed attempt against you with K high when you had filled up that boat! LOL ... it was a pleasure play with and against you... I happened to had played more SD than you but you definitely put up a sick intimidating image at the game and I was LMAO watching this vid learning you did not know much SD at the time, or so you claim! ;) ... one more thing you might find fun or funny: i found your stacking of chips in short stack of 10 super annoying AF when we were playing, but since then I've tried it in some tourneys and i must say there is a functional merit to it! So thanks for that one! ok enough of my fanboy-ing here. good luck out there and hope i play more SD against you soon or in this same event in the next WSOP.
Nice playing with you PK! Glad we both ended up making it, 10 chips are annoying but very functional true :)
I love playing short deck. Every card has a chance of changing the outcome. So much variance!!!
That J 10 hand with 33k was a tough one. I would've made that move as well. It seemed like every hand you showed had two diamonds on the flop lol
The proper way to deal with ICM/Bubble pressure in Satellites is the same in Short Deck as well as Hold Em. If you are 2nd or 3rd in chips and the largest stack shoves, & you have AA, you auto muck. Also if you are the biggest stack, and have a good lead between you & 2nd, especially 5th, than you shove EVERY hand, any 2.
Edit: If you want to know more info on this & why this is: MIT has an Open CourseWare on YT explaining Poker Strategy, GTO, ICM etc…
JT is one of the best hands in short deck and should be played like AA
I’ll take J10 over aces in short deck. Sure, you’re behind pre, but in my experience… those straights just come way more often than not in short
@@daveythehand4964 😅😅🤦♀️ so ur sure that aces are infront, but u chose to take j10s haha - that makes sense
@@slotmasteralexandrakp3485 you played short deck before? Bc single pairs are shit. Even top 2 is shit. Hell, even a set is often garbage. Straights are bread and butter; you better hope you make a full house with AA
@@slotmasteralexandrakp3485 Some people have never played 6+ holdem, and it shows.
@@slotmasteralexandrakp3485 AA will most likely never hold up in short deck. JT just hits so much of the deck which is why you play it like AA. With JT just about every flop gives you a backdoor. A lot of flops give you gutshots and open enders to the nuts. JT is just a super good hand in short deck.
Great video .
Given satty icm, The JToff is a fold to a shove on the stone bubble.
Awesome bink brother! Not a bad ROI on just 2 bullets! Now let’s spin those tournament chips up on the next one! 🏆
In this video Rampage discovers a revolutionary tournament strategy called ''showing up before level 8'', it's super effective!
When doing a split with a loaf of bread, a quarter of a loaf pre-sliced, better than no pieces of bread at all. Good going with the performance! Here's hoping more comes that way!
"I don't know what I'm doing, but I won." Hahahaha great job!!
No different than holdem for this brainless luck box ...
@@Simon-cv3qt cry beta
It’s the best
good to see your complete blind luck returning
Enjoy short deck poker but only a few online sites offer it. It is gambling time - a bit like Omaha. TJ suited is a very strong hand as it offers flush, straight draws high and low.
Chips are so precious in a satellite I mean you can even fold Aces with a 3bb stack in certain spots. That limp 400 and call off 5500 with Q9 clubs was terrible bro. If you raise called it off not so bad. But putting 400 in and thinking you’re committed for another 5k (half starting stack) is crazy
Ethan, if you really want a bracelet: play the $10,000 Razz next WSOP. It’s the absolute easiest game with the smallest field, only like 150 players per year. Nothing easier than trying to make the wheel, A2345, ABCDE, 12345. There’s absolutely no content on Razz, except for DNegs ofc. Theres no info out there about Razz strategy, GTO, nothing. Complete wild west.
It’s always 2am....... in the morning. 🤷♂️
In icm as a shortstack it's good to jam quite light but calling light is a no go
So stoked to play a live short deck tourny. That would be so so fun. Problem is, I don’t think San Diego really has any of them…
Well you can't have the first short deck vlog, but you can have the best short deck vlog. I have two SD vlogs out.
I'm a little late watching this one, I just spent 5 days in Vegas myself, nice content as usual, continue to live the dream, as for myself, I'm going to sleep for 10 days, good night 🤒
Congrats on ya wins here . Omg great game here
Short decks it's very popular in Thailand. that game have a suck out almost every hand. love to see you binged it and suck out opponent good luck from Thailand
You always smile lol when say 1 bullet gone
Bullet number 2 lol
What's your most ever bullet buy lol and how did it end
Glad to see you win, in your latest tournament. That's what we were praying for. 🙏
Ethan don't know if you know but there's a big poker competition on in the UK called Goliath
Perfect day for a rampage vlog! What's happening Ethan!
My boy Justin, hope you’re having a great weekend
There are tons of short deck videos on CZcams. Do you have Pokergo?
Maybe your funniest line of your vlog career…. “I don’t even know the rules”. Lol. Me neither.
Sorry for that and compliments for being so open about It....Oh, you said short DECK
Very entertaining. Thanks for adding a new dimension.
At 13:50, AQ made a straight. Did the dealer point to the person with pocket queens to say he won?
On that first hand you were also drawing to J or K for fullhouse
I just need you to fix the dent in the hat lol I enjoy everything else!
Hey, a win is a win. Tourney chips are just as valuable in your position since you don't have to lay out cash for a few buy-ins. Easy game, right? ;-)
It’s like 2 am in the morning 😂☠️
Congratulations on a good 👍 win
I said hi to u on the lodge stream wow guess u couldn't say hi back no biggie bro
I won one online for play chips recently. I like short deck, but not as much as regular hold em...
Hey Ethan I was wondering what you use to edit and where you get the card graphics from?
Good luck Ethan👍
I have been playing poker for over 20 years and I never even heard of short Deck poker
It became popular a few years ago.
Team Rampage all day
Congrats man! Can't wait for the live stream online tourneys!
I love short deck, thank you for this vlog! Congrats on the win! Pura Vida from Costa Rica!
Very fun I remember they had a short deck game on hcl so much action good video
Great work. Short deck pros better be on the lookout
I've always wondered how easy it would be to win a bracelet in one of those obscure poker games like 2-7 triple draw or something like that.
you called an all in with pocket 77s in short deck, but the equivalent in regular holdem would be pockett 33s. Not a short stack player but I think that was a mistake.
"A straight or an ace is equivalent to a 6" youre a poet, rampage. truly
Love short deck, but only have gotten to play it once, and ended up winning(might be why I enjoy it). Got to knock out Darwin Moon and cripple Greg Raymer in the same tournament.
I haven't seen it since in my area tho.
No women likes to play short deck
@@fabioasterix750 guess you are playing short deck on being funny or clever also.
Nah, DNegs had a few WSOP short deck vlogs this year. But you're close! :) I don't think Brad, Jaman or Andrew have VLogged it. :) Oh, wait, you meant where someone won. You have that honor, sir! :)
Andrew has a short deck episode
See.. u can do it. Congrats..🎉🍾🎈
“… I flop the nuts… and… I’m out.” Poker.
Rampage! Great Content Bro! 💥😎👍🏼
Hey, a win is a win. Congrats!
It's like the Italian game "telesina"
I can hear Mario telling you that your playing with a short deck! Lol
I Hope his deck Is not to short to have fun
Hello. Yesterday I played my first cash game at a casino, a 1/3 game and one of the hands we went 3 ways to the flop paying $12 each and I had a pair of 10s and the board game 9 4 4 rainbow. Then the person ahead of me bet $20 and we both called. The turn came a Q bringing in a flush draw and the same person bet $40 and once again we both called. Then the river came an off suit Jack and the same person bet $70. I folded my pair of 10s because I thought for sure one of the other people had me beat but the winner got called and flipped over a 9 and won. Did I make the wrong fold here or what would you have done?
Nemee was vlogging short deck 3 years ago but I guess that was before your time.
Andrew Neeme did a short deck vlog once
Been searching for this. I remember it too.
Making a flush is exactly as difficult as it is in regular hold em. Making straights and full houses are easier. Hence flush beats full house. Not cuz it’s “harder” to make a flush in this game vs holdem. There are 4 suits and 7 cards. The deck could contain a million cards and flush odds would be the same :)
You're wrong.
4 Suits and 7 Cards? What? i think you got this all wrong
You're incorrect (and so is Rampage in this instance, comparing it to a holdem gutshot). Just in terms of the odds of making a flush, your odds in short deck would be 4*9c5*31c2/36c7 ~2.81%. In Holdem this would be 4*13c5*47c2/52C7 ~4.16%. It's harder to make a flush, but easier to make a full house in short deck, hence the swap in hand rank.
@@braddemers6142 ahh my mistake. The 9c5 makes a significant enough difference vs 13c9. Your explanation makes sense
Hey Brad, how many more combinations of hands are there in 4 card and 5 card omaha, respectively, compared to holdem?
Congrats to short deck pro Rampage
Triton poker has vlog w short deck, good job
That was interesting and fun
Love short deck, especially when I hit a flush and someone mistakenly believes their full house is good!
To be fair a common mistake that Ive made myself
Congrats Shorty Champ!
Quick question on the tournament credits: can those be used for any tournament the casino hosts? Or just the remaining WSOP events?
With it being wsop I'd say just the wsop but I could be wrong
17:54 is quite hilarious.. you lose to a turned QQ, a rivered JJ.. or QT. You win vs *everything* else. AA, KK, AK, K9, T6, T7, T8, T9, KT, AT, 66..
Is a shared victory split 4 ways with it? He spent too much overall!
Awesome video. Good fun, well done!
Nice score. GG man
Congratulations great job 👏
I don't know the rules, it's an 1100 dollar buy in.
It amazes me how so many think AA or KK is a stellar hand in short deck and treat it as if it was NLH. More often than naught, your AA will get cracked by J10, QJ, KQ and even Q10 and 910.
Good shit my boy 👏🏼
This was wild
Flushes aren’t harder to make. It’s just easier to make full houses.
So if a ace counts as a 6 and 6s are in dec is a6 pocket 6s or is a6 actually 6 7
Ace counts as a 5..
i don't know what i am doing.....but neither does anyone else...oh to be YOUNG!!!
Congratulations. I just think it’s funny you say how much you love short deck, but don’t know the rules. Lol
You needed that I’m happy for you lol keep up the good work
You forgot to say it’s your boy Eithan in the intro
Good vlog!
Ethan can you do your stat's.. how much spent buyins WSOP..cash wins.... much spend on your love pad.... also share websites you follow not porn anything poker so on.. Also update those picture things brought
Most importantly a flush beats a full house
last video: What the fuck am I doing? I don't even know what I'm doing anymore.
this video: I'm so excited!
the rollercoaster of emotions that is Rampage.
Short deck is insane
It’s so fun
Nothing wrong with chopping up the lions share of the winnings…unless you have a big chip lead….
Nice work, bro.
When I first read your title to the video, I read it wrong
... I for sure thought you said you had a short "deck"
Ethan that was a really cool vlog as I have never seen a short deck tournament before. And I have just a small question if the gentleman that ended up busting on the bubble would have not been needling you so much about chopping and approach the situation in a different more polite manner would that have changed your mind in regards to chopping and like you stated the pay out to buy in ratio was ridiculous? I am just wondering as your a super nice and also very generous so was it simply the way he was going about it that made your decision? Ty for always answering comments and for being in general just a really good guy.
You played short deck fine other than the 77 hand which I'm sure you know you should have just folded.
What is ICM?
Inter Continental Missile... :)
Hello Ethan, how are you? I see you like short deck. Well, short deck is similar to hold’em. 2,3,4 & 5 are taken out and flush beats full house. Also the A can be used as a 5 in a straight, I think, not really sure how it goes. I think it’s a fun game to play. Anyway I hope you’ll do a lot better on your second bullet. Yey, you made the money. Very nice outcome on your 1st short deck tournament. Keep it up. Peace🌹
Nice dub
