Still one of the coldest dudes in anime..dude literally commands you to break your ankles.
"Its not enough for you to just sit- fall to your knees"
Napoleon complex
Man was out here making me feel scared through the goddamn screen, a true force to be reckoned with.
Jon Brown Tbh i don’t think he has Napoleon Complex, i think he has a dominant mindset, due to his traumatic childhood, not because he feels short.

Throughout watching KnB, seeing the strong, powerful and determined characters of Generation of Miracles, you'd eventually come to think that: Who might the captain be? Who could this man be, that had such great power that lead this people to victory?
Personally, I expected a guy with a big physical appearance, and an absolute, out-showing force of control. Yet Akashi's appearance shattered all of those thoughts about the imaginary captain.
Akashi is small; few inches taller than Kuroko, making him the shortest of GoM (except for Kuroko, of course). He isn't loud like Aomine, full of expressions like Kise, huge like Murasakibara, or physically capable like Midorima. He is calm, rather quiet, but he is absolutely heard nonetheless. He doesn't outwardly show confidence; he owns it. He's smart, talented, observant and most of his strength relies on his mentalk strength, instead of physical.
He is intelligent, and his power comes from there and there alone. He won't be outmatched while facing an opponent bigger or stronger than him, he can easily disable anybody with his intelligence and observing skills. His main power, Emperor Eye, is merely a trick of ball that messes with the balance of his opponent, which he grasps on due to observation and analysis. He plays the brute game of basketball like how you'd play the delicate game of shogi. He is a proof that you do not need the brutal force to win; winning is mainly achieved by intelligence.
His mental power, his quiet confidence, his will to control, all of these gain the respect and trust of his teammates, but that's not all. As seen in the episodes, before Akashi abandoned the team, he worked with them, while never relying on them. He formed perfect strategy for his team and the team could commit, because of the bond they had with Akashi and the trust they put in him.
And another thing is that Akashi didn't run from failure. When his strategy and Emperor Eye failed, he had the will to pay for his mistakes and switch between personalities, never insisting on something that has proved wrong just because he thought he's right. When proved wrong, Akashi quickly changed routes, making sure that he atone for the mistake he made, and that even added to the respect his teammates and opponents gave him, because he's insightful and logical.
Personally, Akashi Seijuro is the most interesting character in KnB to me. I adore him, they displayed him very well, from the mysterious aura to the intimidating character he turned out to be; I fell in love with him as a character the very moment I was introduced to him.
Great job on this video, you ahve pictured and explained him very very very well. I can't stop watching this video. Very well put together.
Thank you, and thank you for sharing. Very happy that you enjoyed the video so much.
You described him well
I first thought that murasakibara was the captain when they give the intro of teiko basketball club
He's charismatic af
So basically he’s the aggressive mom friend
I love how his omnipresence was shaping throughout the anime too without a word from him. You just kept seeing how crazy each guy from the GoM was match after match that itd make you wonder how the captain of the group kept them in line. Like, how strong was this guy that earned everyone's respect and loyalty without question? Kuroko no Basket has one of my favorite antagonists because of that. From the set up in the first few sentences of the anime to the road they take leading up to Akashi.
Mellow Felloh exactly by the time we got up to aomine that was my main thought. What type of monster was able to keep a guy with aomines talent and temperament in check. It was one of the biggest mysteries in the entire show and he didn’t disappoint when he showed up. I’d do whatever the fuck he said to if I was on his team lmao
I agree with you 1000%. Once I learned that Akashi was their point guard and captain it made me start to wonder what kinda person could've been the captain of the Generation of Miracles. I remember trying to think of what the hell his "thing" was, just as Kise's thing was to be able to copy moves or Midorima's was his insanely accurate shooting from anywhere on the court. The miracles were all extraordinary people whose biggest problem seemed to be that they lacked control. So to find out Akashi's "thing" was absolute control and authority just made for the perfect piece. His set up was genius, as was his character.
Too bad they beat him in just one match unlike Aomine, with a clearly inferior team, which took them 2 tries.
@@blitsheart tho kuroko's team became stronger in the 2nd try tho you think that seirin can beat rakuzan in the year that aomine crushed seirin? lmao
@@blitsheart that's plot armor.. seirin can't win the next year since kiyoshi's gone.. which was proven since seirin didn't reach the nationals for inter high the following year and rakuzan won again.
Plot twist:Akashi is just misunderstood and when playing with all these 2 m tall guys he just wants to have an eye to eye conversation with these guys that’s why he does ankle breakers and commands people to kneel
• FBI • your not supposed to do that
Akashi was dunking in game at 5'8, don't sleep on his athleticism
Akashi is the very definition that size does matter but personality, charisma and results matter more. You sometimes see men throughout history who weren't the biggest but they had alot of heart and drive in their existence that it made them break through the physical limitation of the space they occupied and become an embodiment of what they chose to personify. In this case it was victory and absolute dominance through will with Akashi. Another excellent introspect Alec! 👍
U also have to see that he embodies Somone like Kobe he may have not been the most gifted but he was relentless with his will to win and be the best and that’s all there was just wanting to win that’s it simple that’s how he thinks
KnB is such an interesting study on genius, despite the wacky nature of magic b-ball, with the only thing tying together the GoM being their genius and their love for b-ball. Their bonds are only restored after their isolation from genius is broken, through their losses.
God I love KnB
@@jimmyichigo7410 He isn't overthinking? The anime is a good study genius as evident in this video.
@@VONisHope I don't think it's an "interesting" study of geniuses. It's too simple, and kind of obvious that any genius would at a bare minimum feel the same way as these characters. Bored because they are so used to always winning, and change when they are finally challenged by someone at their skill level.
Actually, all the people in the Generation of Miracles get pretty much the exact same kind of character development, the only difference is their personalities and powers. I was only impressed by Akashi's character because he had a "second personality" to deal with certain scenarios (kind of like Sensui from YYH) which was pretty cool. But even he had the same development in the end, simply completely changing after losing just like the rest.
@@GUDZ12345 KnB is undeniably a study on geniuses whether you find it good or not
@@dr.strangelove4665 I didn't deny that. Like I said I didn't find it an interesting study.
@@GUDZ12345 well, that's actually the point of the story? that's kuroko's main goal from the start. unlike other sports series with a protagonist whose goal is to BE the best out of everyone, kuroko's goal is to BEAT the "best" to made them see & realized the importance of basketball. GOM's character flaws started when when they keep on winning and winning to the point that they get cocky, didnt care much abt their opponents or even teammates, and even lost interest with the sport. so it's understandable that their character development would only start when they get the taste of failure. idk how would u want their development to occur when the problem started by constant victory lol
Akashi is easily my favourite Kuroko no Basket character. The moment I saw his backstory I knew that he was someone special. Fantastic video as always bro
Thanks mate.
RedCloud I had a lucid dream about being friends with Akashi, I wish I didn’t wake up....
Same bro he is so cool
i still rip "I AM ABSOLUTE!" when i'm fuckin kids up in rocket league
Akashi is responsible for some of the most badass moments in shonen.
he is actually very physically impressive, his reflexes are insane, and he dunked while being 5'8
Him and Aomine were my favorite 2 characters in this anime.
Same!
New Aleczandxr Video on the great series Kuroko no Basket? "Ah shit here we go again"
But the good kind of here we go again~
True. Most people misunderstand when people say KnB is a good anime. KnB is not a good sports anime, but it is a good anime. Its not accurate to real life sports (Haikyuu), but it has interesting concepts, a power system, cool animation, etc.
The 11 dislikes are those guys he ankle broke.

I can't get enough of him. Thank you for your excellent analysis of this character. From the first season, when you see only profiles of him until the "royal" summmon... And his musical theme... Goosebumps. He his absolutely amazing. Kamiya's voice made this character even more chilling. Definitively, one of my favorite characters.
As of right now Akashi is my favorite shonen antagonist
His overwhelming presence as well as his unexpected human side make him one of the most interesting concepts out there

"it's literally just a crossover"
I remember thinking that "it really took this long for someone in this show to do a crossover?"

Akashi is differently one of my favorite anime villains and characters.
I love that you have seen Kuruko no basket and make videos on it. I love Akashi as a character
You earned a subscriber Akashi is really underrated terrifying villlain who isn't evil
Glad this is recommended
Aomine still my fav he's my spirit animal
I'd like to give a personal thank you. I play a lot of tabletops (D&D and such) and your analysis breakdowns really help inspire me to take inspiration from various characters. I go through your backlog of content a good bit for that here and there and you uploaded this at the PERFECT time for me to take inspiration for a new concept I'm working on.
Glad to help.
When aleczandxr posts a video you already know it's gonna be fire🔥
I’m a simple man, I see the emperor and I instantly like.
When Akashi's empror eye activates, it's like he's playing shogi...
And the others are all pawns...
Omg love this video it puts Akashi in such an interestingly eerie light but he's just such a well fleshed out character. Quiet and poise without exerting his himself to show his absolute dominance.
Just got yourself a subscriber 😊. Happy to see I'm not the only one who loves the characters in Kuroko's Basketball.
I always love hearing these kinds of character analyses from you, thanks for the hard work ❤️!
You’re welcome, glad you enjoyed!
Nice one, Aleczandxr! Once I saw the Daiki Aomine tribute, I knew Akashi was next. Keep it up, bro.
That outro had me shaking, damn Alec, making Absolute perfect videos out here like Akashi himself
Gratitude.
More Kuroko's videos tbh
Seconded
Akashi is the type of leader I aspire to be to any future team or unit I lead. Skilled, logical, observant and true to his words.
Im a simple man. I see aleczandxr's review i press like.
New Aleczandxr video is muy Bueno! Loved that video just like I loved the one on our BlueBoy Aomine. People who are confident and good a manipulation WITH a clear objective or philosophy behind them are TRULY SCARY!!! Gotta be scared by Hisoka but you can find some "fun" points in his character here and there but there is nothing funny about Akashi! Dude's straight up terrifying on every level mate!
Yeees! A video about my boy Akashi!!
YOUR VIDEOS ARE SO PHILOSOPHICAL
I love them...
I’m glad you enjoy them!
Yo this is crazy yesterday was just talking about on Twitter about how you got me into Kuroko no Basket then the next day a new video heck yeah
Your videos are always so interesting, love them
Thanks.
I remember when I asked if you would make a Kuroko video and you said no. Since then you’ve made at least 2 videos. I’m very blessed
I had just gotten to his games beging when I stopped watching the series (side tracked by some other anime), and forgot where to pick up from... end of season 2 or begining of 3 and not sure which.
So thank you for inspiring me to finish and see his journey through.
idk why but I keep watching this over and over again
I just watched your Aomine and I saw this, you earned my sub
Akashi 2nd personality was born because he doesn't want to left behind.
As seen when Murasakibara disrespect him after knowing he was better than Akashi before Akashi turn into his 2nd personality that to regain his position as a leader he need to be stronger than anyone else so that Respect will be given than earning.
Which hit so hard when you play sports yourself. No wonder he train so hard to be on top stated at the fact by his Teammates Rakuzan.
Love this show, love this character, love this video. Please keep covering KnB when you can, much appreciated.
I don't take any requests from comments, sorry! And this is probably my final Kuroko video unfortunately.
We don’t have enough Kuroko no basket video essays. Thank you and good job!
Cheers!
I'm new here, and wow I love how you analyzed my favorite character of KnB. You just got a new subscriber.👍😁
Glad you enjoyed!
Great video character study. Definitely one of the most interesting antagonists I have seen in sport anime.
Cheers.
Excellent video as always
Thanks.
Good video, thanks for uploading
such a good video! excellent analysis
Thanks!
The only thing I didn’t like about the anime was that Seirin literally beat every fucking team and somehow just suddenly manages to take down rakuzan as a team that was made two years ago
Big Mod that made the entire story so shit. I would’ve preferred if they lost
@@siam6237 Yeah, logically it's obvious that Seirin should have lose, but they have plot twist armour and magic is friendship stuff. But really, what would be the point of this series if they just lose like that on the last boss?
@@KulkowaAnhe not even power of friendship is a good excuse for that bullshit, akashi zone destroyed seirin 1v5 including kagami zone under 20 seconds without help, and after that seirin got exausted out of stamina and so was kagami, yet when akashi got even stronger (personality change) and made his team go zone they lost against a tired team just and kagami double zone made him recover all his stamina suddenly lmao? And the fact akashi couldn't stop kuroko pass at the end was the most disappointing thing....it's the power of bad writing and bullshit
skellyaart Instagram he tried to block it cuz he thought kuroko will get the last shot and it was actually a lob pass to kagami that’s why he wasn’t able to stop it

That definitely was a good conclusion!
Alec: ... that someone could be given superiority simply due to others believing they possess that.

YOOO!!! What are you, Nardwuar?
Love the show and love this character analysis
akashi became the most tragic character. the death of his mother led to the eventual creation of a literal alter ego.
Never watched this anime but loved the video anyways. Keep up the great work
Lol, thanks.
top tier anaylsis. Im impressed.
We studied social structure on sociology, so I would define Akashi like this:
- An individual can influence on the social structure, change the environment in which he lives, fight for success and that is the Element of Freedom, and the social structure can also influence him that is the Element of Necessity.
also a little detail, his name is akashi which means "proof" translated which goes really well with the theme of his character.
His theme is so cool and chilling
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH DUDE PLEASE KEEP WORKING
I’m glad you enjoy them!
@@Aleczandxr
I’ve been lurking on your videos for a while but I’ve finally decided to subscribe.
Good work!
Also, I never truly considered Midorima as a “villain” as opposed to the other Generation of Miracles.
Thanks! And well, I did say “quote unquote villains” for a reason.
I don't know why I keep replaying this video, but here I go again for the nth time.
Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks Aleczanxr I asked to you make an Akashi video in your Aomine video and you did. :)
You made a great analysis of his character but I would like to add that I don't think that he doesn't understand the mentality of the underdog, I think he understands it well which is why his second personality took over when he relaized he was falling behind the other Miracles and he refused to accept that they might surpass him.
He is very confident but I believe his confidence stems from others perception of him. He needs validity from others, they need to see and recognize him as the Emperor or he won't feel superior.
He is different from Gilgamesh who has no interest in others opinions at all, and his belief in his superiority is based entirely on how he views himself. Anyone who disagrees with Gilgamesh is simply insulting him and ought to die, Akashi on the otherhand feels the need to prove to others that he is better by defeating them and verbally pointing it out.
He's quote of "Because I am always the victor I am always just, anyone who stands against me is never forgiven not even my own parents." is the most memorable line in KnB to me.
it's 2021 and akashi's place in my husbandos' lists remains absolute. he's the 1st.
No sorry he’s taken😌
In college I was lucky enough to have an English class based around comic books where we can form papers around certain topics of our choice. One of my papers focused on hunterxhunter, and I was really happy with how it came out. But man, after watching this it really made me wish I could go back and change some things. I’ve always loved your vids, keep it up!
Thank you!
Yesss !! Another KnB video ! Watched the series 6 times I think, playing basketball is probably one of the reason why. I think Akashi is second to Aomine when it comes to how interesting the character is and how much it goes trough his head. But I have to say, the relax yet fierce Akashi is better than the Emperor eye one.
please do an analysis of all the main characters of this series, these are too good!
love the death note ost at the end♡
BIG THANK.
Please do promised Neverland and break down how mother was a great villain
Sorry but I'm not interested in doing that and I don't take requests from comments!
Akashi kind of reminds me of escanor from 7 deadly sins. Everytime he shows his "Emperor Eye" it literally gives me goosebumps. Let's not even talk about when he is in the zone haha. And I'm glad he got along with his other personality as shown in the Last Game movie. His true eye prowess is even more op and badass.
7:36 well I guess that makes sense since giving a handshake could be seen as admitting that both parties are equal
I love your videos I can't watch this one though because I haven't watched kuroko no basket but I'm sure it's awesome. Have a nice day!
You too!
This man is a cold killer.
Akashi one of the best written characters in fiction. my favourite KnB character just before Kise
after watching..during the whole video i was thinking "THAT MAKES SENSE"
after finishing watching the movie, he became my favorite character
I can't ignore the basketball players with glasses.
I like to think Akashi actually knew himself far more than what the anime and manga portrayed.
The way I see it, he was genuinely having fun playing for Teiko together with his teammates. It was a breath of fresh air from all the science and math competitions he had to enter. To him, basketball was the only contest that was not a chore and was actually enjoyable. He still wanted to win, but more than anything he wanted the fun to last as long as possible.
However, we all know he is very talented, and perhaps it was his prowess as a point guard that hurled Aomine, Midorima and Murasakibara into being the monsters they are.
We know Kise is a genius outside of basketball, but for the other three, maybe Akashi was the catalyst that started everything. Maybe it was his point guard assists that made his teammates improved so fast. And with how knowledgeable Akashi is, he probably has a basic understanding of psychology as well, that unmatched skill will lead to their egos getting the better of them.
That's why he developed a phantom sixth man to begin with. He saw how things would fall apart at the rate they were going, and he can't predict what he himself might end up doing when push comes to shove. Should someone threaten the authority he has as captain, he's afraid he may end up using brute force to subdue them, even if they are his friends.
Akashi was well aware he woll snap at some point. That's why i think Kuroko was a safety switch Akashi created in order to fix things when he's no longer there. Kuroko was a backup team captain, someone who does not focus on individual skill but uses his teammates. And as we did see, when the Generation of Miracles fell apart, Kuroko was the one who, just barely successfully, put everyone in their place.
He didn't though. That's all head canon, you're making it up.
I think you should do more videos of the generation of miracles
He should only do videos on characters who deserve analysis. DOn't milk it. Someone like Murasakibara doesn't deserve a video.
@@meleronnef8411
Murasakibara completely could have a video dude wtf, honestly every memeber of the Generation of Miracles has something great to say about them.
but anyway Alcz only do what he wants so he will do videos on them if he wants.
Meleron Nef I am not saying he is supposed to do it it was just a suggestion and murasakibara is perfect for a analysis every generation of miracles could have a good analysis
I think Kuroko himself would be deserving of a video. Since it's pretty unique that he's more of a "support character" skill wise yet he's still the main character, story-wise.
I don’t have plans for any more KnB videos, sorry.
Damn, Seijuro gives me chills. His power is so OP it's crazy
