Just saw Sammy last night in CT. He and Michael Anthony literally defy time. There energy and enthusiasm for Rock is amazing at any age. 2 1/2 hours of non stop. Sammy celebrates every birthday in a big way. He isn’t running from age, he’s embracing the gift of life. He definitely earned all these beautiful cars he owns. Long live “ The Red Rocker”
He played in the middle of bill @ Colorado Sunday #1. July 1980) He was, without a doubt the most energetic performer i'd seen at the time. (Only Ian Anderson came close around that time.) What was really amazing was after walking off before the encore Sammy walked back out about 30 seconds & sit on the edge of the stage & said "I could be backstage in a a/c trailer drinking a cold beer, smoking a joint, but i can't leave y'all out here in this heat! It was 101° Then they launched into " Bad Motor Scooter"!! Insanely good.
