    Drake, Loved the video and commentary, have also been following you since 2018 just after your Tour of the Hilltowns Cat 5 win, and Mt. Washington 2nd place finish. Good luck with all your endeavors, it's been fun watching.

    Nice video Drake. Been following you off and on since we raced the Tokeneke Classic together in 2018. And by together I mean you rode off the front of the Cat 5 race and finished with the Cat 4 guys. Awesome to see your progression, good luck with everything in the future!

    You have the Rower's Heart Rate Drake. There is gal here on Maui who was a collegiate rower. Her Cycling Heart Rate had crazy low numbers. Lowest I have ever seen for what she was pushing. That is a great pace with huge power numbers my friend. Your ability to blend your physical and thought process in a balance is obvious listening to your words. At 22 there is lots of good ahead for you Drake.

    Dude my best time is like 40 something mins. But I’m almost 60 and 200 lbs. 😂. I disagree about people saying it’s demotivating. I find it inspires me to ride. Well done !!

    Holy hell...heading up Piuma at 17 MPH is not normal. That's in my neighborhood and a regular fave...10 MPH avg. would represent a nice effort. Dude is a beast.

    Awesome work! And to think I'm pleased with myself doing this at half the watts and half the speed :-) By the way, what software did you use to stick the head unit data onto the video?

      Thank you! Garmin Virb is the software, but it’s not very good unfortunately.

Companies like Garmin are never great at software -- don't get me wrong as I have, like, and constantly use a pile of Garmin devices -- but as a very experienced software guy (decades as a AAA video game lead programmer, entrepreneur etc) I always find the software janky at best.

    Savage! Great effort. What distance setting did have for tracking the rear? 1, 2, or 3? Thinking of getting this for moto content on my channel, thanks in advance.

      This was set on the closest distance setting. I’m planning on trying out further away for future videos though, as I think it would be cool to get more context in the shot.

    I think we raced DOWN this road in 1985 when I was a junior. Nest Mountain road race. 7 miles up. 7 miles down, x 2 laps. The upward portion was Mulholland and Stunt Rd. Good work, young man.

      @@DrakeDeuel Do you know the backstory on his local KOMs? Thorfinn Sasquatch (on Strava) was found to be hopped-up on EPO after testing positive at Masters Natz. Phil retired right around this time and took it upon himself to target each of Thorfinn's KOMs. And the rest is history.

      @@DrakeDeuel Just curious, do you worry about the drone during this? I'd worry that it'd catch a runner, another cyclist, or something else.

      It has a safety feature enabled called the “height floor” where it won’t go below 8 feet, so higher than anyone else on the road most like. It’s also very good at avoiding obstacles, but it does make me a little nervous still.

      @@DrakeDeuel Just beware of FAA regs. I believe that (at any altitude) a drone must be under the user's control at all times. My 17/YO son has a high-tech drone and he's almost scared me with how far away he's sent it!

    great run brother.. 80 PSI? i weugh 126lbs at 5 foot 5 i run 68 rear and 62 front 25mm TUBELESS also wanted some tips.....so its more beneficial to be on the drops to cut wind at 4 percent gradinet? also did you stay in big ring below 4 percent grade?

      I was in the little ring the whole way up, 36t. The drops are generally less aero than hoods with bent elbows, but I always descend in the drops because it’s safer.

    Hi!! Favoulous number in watt and cadence. Do you usually before this "race" to try to beat a KOM some supplements pre race? Something like jack3d or something like that? Thanks for the advice

      Thanks, the only supplement that I’ll have before an effort like this is some caffeine. Usually I’ll take a 200mg caffeine pill.

      @@DrakeDeuel Compliments!! In the past I run i a team of under 23 in swiss now I'm amatuer racer with a an FTP of 370 but I'm weight 79 kg and my heigh is 183 cm, so I have to lose 2-3 kg. Caffeine pills like 20/30 minutes before your try to beat a KOM? Thanks ^^

      It uses a combination of visual tracking with cameras alongside a GPS signal from a beacon in my pocket

      Definitely the rim brake version of that SuperSix Evo would be faster up Piuma.
      It’s just a balance of weight/aero though, nobody is making modern aero rim brake bikes

    Land of the free, you could be fined up to 50000€ flying a drone on a road in germany :D (dangerous interference with road traffic)
