The carpenter cabinet maker was a true craftsman!
Dang that was a good episode, like an entirely different show. The shot of the guy just murdering that screw was gold 18:50.
Glad I'm not the only one that winced at that. 😆
Poor screw. Couldn’t even be laid to rest with it’s dignity intact 😂
The format of these is just right, stunning work, bit of info latest tools and products, bit of bats etc, keep it coming much appreciated
Lovely piece of work. No doubt he’s word of mouth at that level of quality. Well done SB for getting all that in a reasonable length video too, 👍
Love this channel, why you don’t have at least a million subscribers is beyond me. Thanks guys 👍👍
Working on it!
Nice to see a bespoke kitchen done in a small workshop. A very nice finish too. Great video guys.
Nice to see sash cramps like mine - bought second-hand abut 1973
Nice change of style for the video - a complete project with many trades showcased. Well done
Fantastic video, It's great to see true craftsmen at work taking their time to get a beautiful finish.
What an awesome job! Well done to all the trades, each one was a 'Master Craftsman'! They don't make them like that anymore....
Pure artisans at work absolutely brilliant team work and quality 👍
Beautiful. What a lovely husband and wife company too.
What a result! Thanks for sharing 😀
Fantastic video!!! That kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. Very talented build and design!! Love the foot adjustment tool!!!
Absolutely lovely finish, brilliant.
Seamless..... beautiful showcased.
I like using Ronseal multipurpose wood filler, you can sometimes avoid sanding by wiping away the excess with a damp cloth. If it looks like it's starting to dry up, just add a little bit of water, mix it really well and it's good again. I also use my finger as a more flexible filling tool, especially in corners.
Made a beautiful job of those kitchen units and the fitting was top notch too.
I built my own kitchen recently - a shaker style - simply by adding face-frames to the existing quality carcasses and making new doors, plus a bit of re-arranging of units and a new quartz top. Not quite to the standard of the chap here, but I recognised many of his tools and techniques (pocket hole drill etc :)). Lovely to watch a real pro though - absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. Makes me want to do it all again and see if I can my tolerances even closer than last time! Great video - enjoyed it immensely.
Tbh, unless you're paying absolute megabucks, the utilisation of standard quality, big box cabinetry is perfectly good. I've seen 40 year old carcasses that are still as good as the day they were manufactured. As you say, it's the visible bits, doors, drawer fronts that make the look. These can be replaced ,reworked, repainted or whatever in minutes.
That is very true.. high quality factory built units, correctly installed offer 99% of the build quality and in most cases don't budge if they are not abused...
Well done all, turned out lovely 👏👏👏
Geezers that know there stuff well done lads , stunning work 😊
Stunning craftmanship...
An absolutely beautiful kitchen.
Lovely kitchen, amazing workmanship and what a grafter.
Beautiful workmanship
That kitchen is lovely work.
That’s carpentry not kitchen fitting, absolutely beautiful job 👍
Very slick smooth production, and not a Festool or a domino in sight.
What's wrong with festool or the domino?
@@James-dv1df Over priced over hyped and over here!
@strummer6642 what cheaper alternatives are there too the domino? The maffell dowler is more as well as the lamello.
Personally I do think some of the festool stuff is ridiculous compared to others. However, what's cool is they do invent new tools such as the domino and tracksaw where everyone benefits after the patients run out?
Personally I think certain bits such as the domino, sanders and dust extractors seem worth it while the drills and multi tools seems to have limited benefits compared too the dewalt or makita
Great workmanship.
Still some good Tradesmen around. Superb.
Gorgeous kitchen 😮😮😊
What a stunning kitchen, great video .
Favourite part was in the workshop. What a true craftsman 👌🏼🧱👍🏼
Beautiful work
Enjoyed that! 👏🏼☺️
Proper quality
Love those build videos from SB
Very impressive. 🙌
Nice one Bernie 🐾
fantastic what a great bunch.
very good!
Incredible team of artisans.
Brilliant
Nice that
You’d think the dog would look more impressed with fantastic new kitchen.
Great video !!!!! thank you
That vibrate feature on the hoover is pretty decent eh, glad you made a joke of it - first time I used it, thought it was broke!
Game changer! How many curtains polls/ blinds have I had redo after living in new houses over the last 40 years?
Skill doggy approves ❤😂
Lovely kitchen. Whos house is it then? Sams or the camera mans?
Wow that dog has some skills 😂
Stunning! Interesting how the solid wood worktop was joined - normally it is just a butt joint for real wood isn't it?
There were two different types of worktop, one was real wood but there was no joint needed because of where it was placed, the other type of worktop looked to be a granite, the joints on that looked to have had a filler of some description, possibly an epoxy resin but its hard to tell as we didn't get a close-up shot.
Nice!
Thank you
Quality.
I have experienced the stark differences between Dulux retail and Dulux trade paint. The coverage and quality of finish are worlds apart. In my particular case the DIY shop has run out of stock (as had the paint after one patchy coat). The trade centre was only £4:00 dearer, but coverage, ease of use would make it far the cheaper product in a side by side job comparison.
I’ve been installing custom cabinets for almost 3 years now. I’ve seen these leveling legs a few times.. but I do all my kitchens with shims. Is this system worth it?
Can under floor heating on floorboard
Stunning kitchen, I have worked as a joiner / builder for years and building / assembling kitchens like that would be my dream job but I don’t think the money is that great (unless it’s your business)
Pay not bad but your work is scrutinised to the last
Lovely kitchen! I must admit I'd be a bit worried about putting down SLC directly onto bitumen without mechanically removing it first though... (OK the SBR will help adhesion but what if the heat from the UFH affects the stability of the bitumen??)
Looks epic. Would have been nice to see how he made the curved door on the curved base unit
As it’s painted it’s probably laminated from 2mm structural veneers and ply panel
Those decorators....where do they find these guys 😂
nice
What is the attachment being used under the cabinet run at 18:44 for?
Sorry, I should have been more patient, it's explained later on.
Beautiful work! Why could i not find trades to take such care. Ive just finished an accessible renovation, first contractor took ,£25,000 & ran - more if i include the work that had to be redone...
The last job was supposed to be finished March 2023, still waiting i have a half finished, media wall, what was suppsed to be bespoke & i thought wood -its pratically an ikea unit, no real wood in sight. & apparently bifold doors on a computer area thats part of the media unit, is just to difficult too!
Roger can anyone send you questions about building stuff? Got a cellar that i want to reduce the damp and would love your take
www/skill-builder.uk/send
beautifull ! would like to see hoe you made the curved door ?
Not bad
I couldn't focus on what you're saying about the self-levelling screed because of the good boy hanging around. I don't mind rewinding a couple hundred of times there
Will that self level adhere to the bitumen ?
yes
This looks like £50- 75,000 cost ... Amazing what some people will spend...
Lovely quality of course - a bit old fashioned styling but I imagine it's for a much older client..
yes the clients are a couple of geriatrics, trying to spend their kids inheritance any way they can.
@@SkillBuilder brilliant... 😂
Nice video, not sure about the flooring though... if you want wood then get wood and same goes for tile, never been a fan of the fake stuff even if it is more durable
What plywood was used for the carcasses
It was 18mm rotary cut, birch veneered, poplar plywood. Unfortunately no longer available, due to the war in Ukraine. You can still get birch ply, though it tends to be inferior quality, with some pugs/patches. Maple veneered, poplar ply is a good alternative, but comes at a cost.
Doesn't pre-1990s black floor adhesive contain asbestos?
No it was the thermoplatic tiles that have the asbestos but they are encapsulated so if you don't abrade them it is fine
Ear plugs mate. Use them. Metal saw like that will cause damage
Beautiful kitchen, about the same price as the homeowners' car but hopefully last for 20 years longer.
All going so well then he rated Bosch power tools
No pipe in pipe action there Rodger
Oh how the other half live 😂
Didn't know you could self level over bitumen
It was sound so there is no problem. If it is peeling you need to get rid of the flakey stuff.
Thanks Roger just saying because I did self level over linoleum glue where some people say you can and others say you can't. Thanks for replying
ceramic flooring is nice, but I'd be afraid to drop anything on it.
It’s porcelain tiles, they are unreal hard nothing like ceramic
have some spare tiles
You’re Decorating crew not wearing Whites ?
Next week we are doing a naked decorators special. Book your seat
Cutting that stone top: lots in the news about kitchen fitters getting miner's lung
yes quartz has been banned in Australia, so we are told.
Hmmm. Maybe someone should invent something to _filter_ out the _dust._ Maybe it could fit over your head like a hood, or maybe a Halloween _mask..._ We could call it a _dust mask!_ 😉
The number of times you see professionals doing stuff without the appropriate PPE is ridiculous. To be fair, we don't see the fitters face here when he's cutting the stone. He could have been wearing a mask.
Where's James then?
No longer self employed.
Fc1 is far superior
How did he lose his fingers on an iron? stay safe people.
Cable ties to restrain. Too many bleeding hearts would complain.
I’d like to start again, work harder at school, pass exams, university, work in the city or some other high paid job, or win the lottery, or be a pro sportsman…then pay for a kitchen like that.
Will a kitchen make you happy? I know lots of people will lovely kitchens who use them to cry in.
That prestonett wood filler is terrible, worst filler I have ever used.
Plasticuffs are a thing.
yes we see them used all the time but the point is why they don't just put them around the ankles rather than trying to control the head and risk suffocating someone. How far is someone going to go with the ankles tethered?
@@SkillBuilder I thought they just tied them around the wrists. Maybe it's harder to retain someone's legs when they're kicking and struggling.
No idea why people have hand built kitchens? Definitely not as good as machined kitchens.
Most of the components r machined but there’s always gonna b hand work involved
Yes, it does seem pointless.
You'll spend half your life ..opening and shutting cupboards. instead of cooking. ridiculous. lol. Just like birds and wildlife in a garden, A kitchen needs all the tools out and about. Not tucked away. ... hey ho. I get the client base, youre "catering" for... ..
Yeah all covered in grime like the top of my wall cabinets 🤡
Agree, and if you put anything in front of those tall cupboard doors you have to move it or it goes on the floor when the door opens. It'll cost them a fortune in coffee cups and wine glasses!
