The ability of the left to maintain power can not be underestimated. Despite Trumps advantage, I can not help but look at what happened in France and see how easily it could happen in the US.
There are mainstream surveys that ilistrate that left leaning voters are perfectly happy to cheat to win, because they belive there is no truth but power and there is no rule that cannot be broken to achieve the "good end" they belive in whatever that happens to be.
That's unique to the system of elections in France...
Unless you're expecting the electoral college to turn against Trump
@@authenticallysuperficial9874 They will do whatever it takes because to the left the ends justify the means. It truly is a cabal of Marxists behind the scenes controlling the media, the culture, and the DNC.
But I thought all of the clips of him staring into the distance, walking in random directions, and shaking hands with invisible ppl were all "CHEAP FAKES"
8:31 While all the points seem logical and reasonable (pun only halfway intentional), just the concept of a Libertarian in 2024 saying “listen to us-we know how to win elections.” is laughable.
I living in IL and since JB has become the governor the state has only gotten worse, it’s a slow slide down but it’s still a slide down.
Lose of credibility when you think JB should run for president.
The inability of most people to actually define what it is that is “bad” about President Trump is disturbing. Most people, it seems, mean they do not like him, not that he had destructive policies. People have made politics into a sport…and talk about it like that.
Or they just say "he's a racist." but then when you ask why they think that they find the question preposterous but still have no answer, then have to google for something.
Reason's staff put out a crap ton of stuff on why Trump is bad, why Biden is bad, why Republicans are bad, why Democrats are bad.
Are you too lazy to read?
@@MaxThaxton It's too bad that they won't put out a crap ton of stuff on why illegal immigration is bad.
So why he is bad and this is just a start, I can do on almost forever. He tried to overthrow the results of the election, he wanted to suspend the constitution ""the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution." He said he wanted to be a dictator, He wants to block almost all immigration, he wants tariffs that almost every economist says will cause even more inflation, he spent money at a rate as fast or faster than any other president. You are clearly not actually talking to anyone about this. The number of reasons is a mile long. He must be stopped.
It started as a matter of status - Trump, of Queens, is a gauche womanizer with extravagant tastes. This is low status. Bill Clinton, of rural Arkansas, is a classy womanizer with understated tastes. This is high status.
Then the Russia operation took hold. When it fizzled and was revealed to be nothing, these people took their high emotional state and transferred it on to the next media-generated outrage, and the next, and the next after that.
It's all a blended status and psychological phenomenon at this point.
I wouldn't let Biden supervise a popsicle stand in the safest theme park in America let alone hire him to CEO an icecream truck. Mentally and Cognitively not there. Physically not there and everything will get worse over time. It's that simple.
I would not either but his administration runs things, not him . Trump will intentionally try to destroy the country and his cult will not push back.
What "high ground" does Biden have?
It's the ground he stands on next to Hunter.
What high ground does Reason have to criticize other media?
Oh my god the purple hair is the worst. Why is she not at MSNBC?

Do you just create new accounts to post the same shit. I swear every episode has some moron account complaining about Katherine's hair without explaining why her opinion pissed them off.
He wont completely turn the united states into either a third world country or completely destroy it. Even if there is only a 1% chance trump will be able to do that, he will 100% try and anything great than 0% is too high .
Uh, no: "The Bear" is not about the working class; it's a melodrama about uptight brats and pertaining servants who spend fortunes on culinary experiences that artificially pat shoulders of privilege, bragging rights, reveling at income disparity. Peter's fluff here is sadly gullible, and Christopher Storer's fantasy that he's an experimental filmmaker (rather than simply being a lazy hipster full of himself), clearly sells to certain people. Critics who are finally calling out the show, are like Biden's protectors: they should have recognized all these problems in Seasons 1 and 2.
This is the response I had in the first episode when the main character decided on his first day to play the "I'm the boss" card, completely ignore any advice given by the guy who normally ran the joint, and throw out the old menu in the middle of the rush. Not to mention that not a single one of any of them were wearing hats, so I guess getting their hair in customer's food isn't a big deal to them.
Elizabeth's explanation is good, but lacks something important about the media. Many in the media thought Trump would have to stand trial before the election. They also thought convictions in the other cases would start to sway some Trump supporters, or at least prevent independents from backing Trump. As everyone has now come to accept that none of those assumptions are going to happen, all eyes started to pour onto Biden. Suddenly, the lack of focus on Biden has burned them. They never thought his candidacy was going to be that important--now it is.
People are brainwashed but many moderate Dems and independents are waking up and saw these prosecutions as the persecutions they are and so many are saying this is why they changed their minds and will now vote Trump.
I point brainwashed libs to Tulsi, Thomas Sowell, Bill Maher, Matt Taibbi, Michael Schellenberger Glenn Greenwald, etc. etc. but they still deny the reality in front of them exactly as Yuri Besmenov predicted back in 1984.
From ~9-10:30: I think equating Trump and Biden as two too old men is extreme reductionary thinking. They are in no way the same creature regardless of them having a similar age. I would have hoped for more, and I guess I got what I expected.
I watch these just to see Kathrine smile. Always makes my day.
Pretty hard to take someone with purple hair seriously.
In support of Nick's point regarding the song Born in the USA, and how audiences may interpret a work, I would point out the number of weddings that use the Police song, "Every Breath You Take", believing it's a love song (it's actually a song about a stalker). As David Byrne stated in an interview many years ago, once an artist puts a work out into the world, the audience will make it their own.
Thank you Liz. Yes, let that sh&t go. I am so tired of hearing about the coup that never was.
The news about Bidens age is "old news"? Colbert needs better writers.
About the publisher/platform distinction: if a company wants 230 protection, then they should NOT be able to manipulate (shadow-ban) content. Simple as that. Once they start editorializing user's posts, then they become a publisher (responsible for content - meaning no 230 protection).
What the problem is what Biden and Trump think about themselves? No the problem is an entire state department and entire news market who never once says this guy cant have a 1 hour speech without falling on his face
Do you think it would be reasonable for large aocial media platforms to be required to publish their editorial guidelines, some range past decisions, and their justifications.
I really enjoy the conversation, the group is overlooking the central theorem of the way the press and the White House were operating. These were people that were engaged in the currency of power, they realize Biden was the power and they wanted to be as close as they could to the power therefore they had no stake in diminishing the power.
Liz, big tech are publishers, not platforms, thus can be regulated and technically the first amendment is in fact more as a protection from the federal government and if you believe in the Constitution and federalism then there is more leeway to regulate.
Why was Nick put in a timeout in the closet?
MOAR segment titles!
Agreed
What a strange group of people.
Born in the USA? If that guy’s the boss then I quit.
I got major Legally Blonde vibes @39:34 lol
I'm from Illinois, and JB Pritzker is one of the worst Governors in the country!! Don't doubt me!
Maybe only to be out done by Maura Healey here in MA, or Gavin Newsom.

What would they be guilty of?
Indeed
"age gap discourse"
I don't get it...
I think it was playing on romantic relationships.
I normally vote 3rd party. But in 2020 I was on three hits of acid on election night and thought it would be funny to vote for Trump. One of the only times I’ve ever voted major party, but I stand by my LSD-soaked brain
I wonder why your norms aren't bothered by the people that created January 6th and made sure it happened and lasted. Odd
Yep. I wonder about that, too. These pundits are BUBBLE BLINDED and/or suffer from TDS.
By the people who created January 6 - are you referring to the 3 letter agencies?
Gordon Gecko is right! 😅
Has Matt Walsh reconsidered his tweet wishing death on all the conservatives, or just his stance on French healthcare?
Do you mean Matt Welch?
Peter should set himself a time limit when explaining anything. He spends so much time belaboring a point that it becomes completely dull by the time he is done.
I really wish Biden would drop out and Jared Polis would run. But we all know that's not happening..
I, for one, think it's disgusting that Democrat elites are trying to deny primary voters their choice of nominee. Save democracy-keep Biden on the ballot!
Happy Tuesday, Peter! You know that these are coming out on CZcams on Tuesdays for the last several weeks, right? Not Monday? Maybe they go on the podcast sites on Monday, I don't know.
Is Nick sitting in a closet? It's so bare!
I can understand Katherine saying that if you're the president, then you are not only part of the elite in-crowd, you're pretty much the center of the elite crowd. Still, Biden has a pretty long history as a career politician, which in itself makes him part of the elite, president or not, whereas Trump's political career is much shorter.
Purple hair girl saying that Trump is wrong when he claims the elites don't like him. What?
She said he was complaining about the elites while having the most elite position in the world.
She knows elites don't like him. But he himself is an elite.
Don't get so butthurt over hair color you stop listening.
@@MaxThaxton Politics doesn't work like that. Under the veneer of democracy is despotism. The gracchi brothers were elites in the roman republic too but what happened to them? Slandered prosecuted and assassinated
@@MaxThaxton lol - I guess I hit a sensitive subject. She said he was "like Biden" in this respect, which is totally false. The "elites" did, in fact, strongly support Biden (until a few minutes ago), while loathing Trump. And this was true even outside the US. And no, the "elites" being referred to here do not include Trump: the term refers to the well educated (?), liberal (leftist), upper class, who routinely mock the "non-elites" (google "basket of deplorables"). Again, this same group of people exist in many western countries. Just having money doesn't make you "elite". Musk is another example of a rich non-elitist. Read Sowell, he describes them as the "Anointed" class, and he's correct.
Because Trump. That’s why they feel entitled to lie or do literally anything else no matter how illegal, immoral, or incompetent.

Isn't small government the North Star for libertarians? Trump is clearly superior on that measure. If that's your guiding principal, that should help you make a decision. Or admit that small government is not your greatest priority.
I completely agree. They're just libs that think they're better than other libs
The guy who wants to build giant walls to stop the free movement of individuals, calls elections he doesn't win rigged and advocates they be overturned by the establishment, takes the guns first and due process later, banned COVID tests then threw billions at big pharma to make COVID vaccines, who claims absolute immunity to do anything as president, who printed the most money of any administration in American history, who adamantly defends social security and medicare and the rest of the welfare state, while working for a base that advocates that government increasingly get involved in your healthcare, your internet usage, and your sex life...is your "clearly superior" "small government" guy? 🤡🤡🤡
Decision is clear on the small government candidate this year: Chase Oliver 2024.
Reason doesn't care how large the central state is as long as that state allow drugs, abortions, and free immigration to decrease labor costs.
You're kidding right? Trump may talk about small government, on rare occasions, but he really isn't any more for small government than Biden is.
@@d.johnson "Free movement of individuals?" Tell that to the parents of Kate Steinle, among others. There is a reason that you people NEVER win elections. You're full of shart.
14:25 Brexit numbers right there 🤪
Divide and concur,,,Trump is the only way to go if you want to stay free. These guys talk too much,,,,blah blah blah
Section 230 means that they are not publishers, which means that they should not act like publishers. When they do act like publishers they should lose their 230 protection. Nick you are very wrong about how the SM companies were censoring conservative speech.
Well, Nick puts business above all else, because that is freedom, or something.
Section 230 specifically limits liabilities for online publishers. Have you ever read the law? You seem to have no idea what you are going on about.
Sad group of people here! Sour and pretentious
