This is so nice to be seeing this again. Working with Natalie, at the time, and since, has always been a pleasure. It is just extremely frustrating that the video editing makes it look like we only worked on speaking voice together. I guess it was a didactic choice on Esti's part. However, hours of body awareness / postural / breathing work and of the very first post-surgery singing sounds were filmed. It was a fascinated journey, as you can imagine, with a fascinating student. It was also a great pleasure to work along with the great Christine Schweitzer (from Arte Lirica Paris)
She works so hard on her artistry. Her singing is musically genius.....

La migliore cantante nel repertorio mozartiano barocco e coloratura che abbiamo mai avuto. Che poi sia stata sfortunata è innegabile… ma quello che ci ha lasciato è ineguagliabile neppure da grandi come la devia , gruberova ecc

She is a great artist and singer.
I think a big part of the problem is the aesthetics that can change very difficult in such strong personality like Madame Dessay.
The problem it is technical of course but it is also psychological (in a vocal way).
There is a limit for all of us - until when and how the vocal instrument can react properly together with the ear.And with the good amount of air in different registers...those limits are not under control.
First thing to do when you sing belcanto it is to have a strategy of fuels.
I live my comment with a huge respect for this Great artist and singer and I am happy to hear that she is back again on stage🌹
