Most amazing 2nd period highlights I’ve ever seen.
It’s because 80-90% of the highlights in these vids are goals only, not many big hits, saves, blocks, fights, etc
Worst highlights ever

Whoever edited that second period deserves a reward and recognition. Amazing work!
Fans chanting, as the seconds ticked down… then silence. Brutal.
Ouch!
Just wait for the anger & silence when the Oilers get knocked out by LA
It’s beautiful.
LOL brutal
If you really know hockey you wouldn’t say a word till you see 0:00 on that clock. SPECIALLY when leading with only 1 goal.
Kings are really getting their money's worth with Korpisalo. Columbus trained him good
Definitely, he's worth every penny.
He was already an excellent goalie. He was one of the 3 good players in Columbus.
And gaveikov
Wait something is off. The Oilers have lost in Game 1 4-3 to the kings last year aswell. It wasnt in overtime, but it still was a loss with the same score against the same team in the same type of game. Maybe a repeat of last year?

There's something special watching the games on SN. You hear the announcers so happy and they progressively hate their lives as the game goes on
Ah yes, as the Canadian fan in them slowly dies
I watch Oiler games just to wait for the EMT guys to use the defibrillator on the homer announcer...
I always thought the Edmonton commentators were the biggest homers.
The Kings definitely had better goaltending tonight.

And Draisaitl looks like both his knees are really hurting. Or maybe that's normal.

@michael stuhr I believe they'll win this round but as for next, it'll depend on who they're playing. I'm hoping for any Canadian to win, even though I know Bettman won't let it happen, but I gotta say that as a Leafs fan, it's kinda nice seeing all the cocky, "we're winning the cup", Oilers fans get a reality check. No team is guaranteed anything, unless Bettman OKs it.
Man those 2nd period highlights were so fast-paced - blink and you’ll miss them!
Canes fan, while everyone was picking the Oilers I knew the Kings would give them fits. Very good team, no superstars on the team (currently) but that team plays hard and is deep. The defensive help and goalie help at the TDL really opened an opportunity for the Kings.

Amazing performance both teams are well palyede 🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
How can Desharnais argue with that call in OT? He first fumbles the puck, then argueably slashes his opponent, loses that battle, continues to fling his stick around tripping the King's player. Even in the Playoffs that is an easy call.
I think so too. You can't fault the ref on that one.
They stopped swallowing the whistle years ago in the playoffs. A penalty is a penalty in the playoffs, very little if any leniency. How is this lost on Oiler fans? This is not new news. Sticks to faces and blatant trips to stop outnumbered attacks are going to be called and its been that way for well over a decade.
Agreed. Desharnais isn’t a full time NHL’er yet, still straddling between Oilers and farm team. They need to be careful about how and when they use him, playoffs are a different beast than regular season. Everyone thinks Desharnais is a stud just because he’s 6’6”, but his inexperience and subpar talent is a real problem.
I think he's pissed he didn't draw a call when he got taken down there prior to the trip he was called for
Yeah came to see highlights after I saw everybody crying on Instagram… that might have been the most obvious call I’ve ever seen

@@EerieVonIII8574 that is awesome!
@Brian Jones (warning: long rant incoming) as a Sabres fan, hear me out, but we should keep UPL as a backup and if we’re getting a third goalie sign Alex Stalock from the Hawks.
UPL was better than people are remembering, even in March if you ignore “garbage time” (which I defined as being down more than 3 in the 3rd period) he has about a 90% save percentage and positive goals saved above expected. Plus he has crazy potential upside if he gets more consistent, he completely stole some games back in December and January (biggest case of this was when we beat Vegas in December). Nearly did in March against the Isles (they had over 5 expected goals that game) and only allowed 1 goal in regulation against the stacked post-deadline Rangers. I could easily see it becoming another Ullmark situation if he gets traded away bc he was that good at times.
Stalock doesn’t have stats that looked too good this year, but he was better than the stats let on. They were still better than Quick’s, but he was also playing in front of one of the worst teams in the NHL so he had basically no help. He’s 35, 2 years younger than Quick, so he would be able to provide veteran leadership, but would also likely be able to stick around longer than Quick would. Plus he would be cheaper and could very well play better than Quick would. Not to mention he’s already used to playing in front of a suspect defense lol
Korpisalo looks so cool with his mask on, kinda looks like Marty Brodeur. Anyways WHAT A GAME!!!

@@rb8999 That is why I wrote, looks like
I’m a Dallas fan, I played hockey in the QMJ, that wasn’t a trip because it didn’t impede his movement or cause him to fall. At best it was a slash, but again it didn’t impede the player or have any chance of injury. Nor was there any intent as he was swiping at the puck. The Kings player got hit by the stick, and when he pushed through he accidentally stepped on the stick on the ground. Even if you don’t look at the frame where he clearly steps on the stick, look how he blew a tire, with his foot going out from under him, in front of his path. If it was a trip, his body would have gone forward while his foot stayed behind him. It was a very soft call.
@@ryanu.4953 Intent does not matter. You can clearly see Lizotte stumble before the broken stick on the ground which then caused him to fall. A fall is not necessary for a tripping penalty. It was reckless stick handling by Desharnais when he had help.
Excellent resilience shown from the Kings! Without a doubt the most exciting game of the night!
A couple of rare mistakes by McDavid + soft goals by Skinner + bad D by Nurse + bad team penalties = Oilers snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Bad D by Nurse? Yes, by a definition.

Bad defense by Nurse is his game :)
Nurse wasn't a defensive liability, mcdavid was. -2. How you put that liability on the penalty kill in the last minute is some terrible coaching.
Wow. Gutsy win by LA. I’m noticing more and more Kempe is to LA what Marchessault is to us . When they’re down and need someone to come through he always does . Did it in the last Colorado game of the regular season as well(which they lost but still) . He’s a hell of a player . He’s always the one that scares me when we play the Kings. Hell of a game here. Also , just a brutal loss for Edmonton. They went 14-0-1 in the last 15 games of the regular season but like 9 of those 15 games were against non playoff teams so I think that definitely played a role in them having such a good record at the end. Not to say they aren’t a really good team because they are . I just think their defense gets exposed against better teams. This is gonna be a crazy series.

To be fair, it’s not hard to find a way to win against the oilers. What is hard to find though is an oilers defense.
This was close because of the huge powerplay differential between the Kings and the Oilers, Kings got away with way too much.
@@moj9157 No they did not. That is just stupid to think the NHL somehow wants the Kings over the most popular and best NHL player in the world. Edmonton took some extremely stupid penalties. @@btgkg9639 lmao the NHL literally starts that best player in the world at 8 PM MTN (I could do a better job at marketing and I’ve never even tried), plus, I’m mainly mad about the officiating today because of the fact that they literally called nothing in favour of Edmonton despite some things being quite obvious, like the OT call, you’re gonna call that in OT of the Stanley Cup playoffs but you’re not gonna call Foegele getting tripped a minute prior, even though the penalties were 7-3 the Oilers were still the better team and really should’ve won. Isn't that how LA scored in overtime and have a total of 7 PPs? lol The refs are very consistent in what Gary wants. The games are getting pretty predictable and unfun to watch anymore.
@KickAssets it's only not fun if you're an Oilers fan haha.
McDonut. 0-0
McDavid 0 points and the Oilers loose, shocker
They lost cause of him kid.
