Watching Hull and Datsyuk play together is a treat
Мне больше нравится Дацюк и Зетенберг))
Datsyuk with those mazing movies and Hull with that howitzer. But, the truth is, Hull and Oates were the best combination.
5/3/22, 7:41 p.m.
Hull, with his experience, takes a position at the far post and Datsyuk collects the entire opponent's team and gives a pass to an empty net.
Just how good is he on reading the game !! His passes, the stolen pucks, his clever play in defense … man! … and than you look at his skills with the hands, his skating, those shots and goals … his brain is as fast , as the light. Every little move hi makes on the ice is pure joy and says you : “That is Talent, Talent and more of that Talent!”.
I realize now that I took for granted how amazing Datsyuk was as a rookie.
He was only logjammed by future HoFs such as Fedorov, Yzerman, Igor. Also dont forget Kris Draper.
Easily distracted with like 10 hall of fame players. But he snuck up on us. I'd do anything to go back to his rookie season and have another full career of him.
As did I.
I remember how in 2002, people in my high school used to say that Ilya Kovalchuk had the most amazing dekes at the time. As a Wings fan, I told all of them: "The rookie Datsyuk has the best dekes. You may not agree now but you'll see later." ... Most of them didn't know who Datsyuk was, so they disagreed with me but nowadays, those very same people are saying that Datsyuk has the most amazing dekes ever. Sadly, none of them remembered what I said about Datsyuk in 2002............................. DAMN IT. When the whole "I told you guys about Datsyuk having the best dekes over Kovalchuk back in 2002" can't sound credible just because none of them remembered anything about what I said in 2002...
Amazing hockey intelligence. Phenomenally fast hands. Absolutely unpredictable on the ice. An absolute genius...
All my favorite players are from the late 80’s-mid 2000’s wings. Yzerman, Sheppard, lidstrom, shannahan, Russian 5, McCarty ,Lapointe, Draper, maltby. What a great era to be a wings fan
Easily one of the greatest of all time, on and off the ice. Thank you for these memories.
I miss him so f*cking much. I never took him for granted but man his time flew by. I miss this.
And he was just getting started...To get a legend like this at an overall 171 draft pick - is a definition of great luck in sports management.
A God among men. Hasn't gotten the full credit he deserves. A defensive masterpiece of offensive brilliance.
This team was stacked
Best hands ever and skating and intellect.
Goal #7 is poetry in motion
With highlights like this it’s hard to believe he only had 35 points that year
Amazing especially considering he sat several times his rookie season.
Most players, even late into his career underestimated his physical play. He would either sidestep a hit or deliver a hit before the opponent could. Probably the best defensive forward I've seen play. How many steals did he have in his NHL career?
His rookie year was probably the best Red Wings team ever, possibly the best NHL team ever. If not for the roster full of HOF players he never would have sat out a game.
The THIEF. Pickpocket beyond belief.
"I think he may do this again" Damn bruh he was right.
I'm convinced he could see into the future
It's funny on his first goal the announcer say "they don't come any prettier than that". Datsyuk says "wanna bet?"
Hull & Datsyuk together...how could you ever go wrong!
Imagine stepping into the premiere league in the world as a kid from another country, and finding yourself on an even plane with some of the best players in Red Wings history.
Won my pool that year because of that amazing youngster!
He was complete player! Excellent on face offs and tremendous defensively
I really enjoyed the hits that you included in this. Pavel could be a crushing hitter when he wanted and earlier in his career he had a bit of an attitude to go with it. I seem to remember him hitting Pronger in the corner with his patented back up hit that leveled Pronger and left him on his duff gasping for air. I think Pavel has the best hands I've ever seen.
Magic Man! Wonderful skills from Pavel Datsyuk
Great video,Datsyuk very worthy of top 100...
The most jaw-dropping part of this video wasn't anything to do with Datsyuk, but when Ken Daniels says that boyd devereaux was drafted 6th overall...
Extremely weak draft class in 1996 - www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/nhl1996e.html
@@awood40 Zdeno Chara went 56th overall. Useful players like Sami Salo, Willie Mitchell and Tomas Kaberle went in the final two rounds. Wallin might have been serviceable were it not for that bad car wreck.
The legend. He is on top 3 in 2003-2015
omg! how many clutch goals and assists he delivered! CLUTCH
i miss my boy pavy :(
Same here.
Shame that he retired early but glad I followed in the footsteps. Thanks for everything Pavs! #TATS
He's still playing.
As a Michigan man just getting into the sport... I really wish i paid more attention to this sport back then. I missed out on a LOT of great hockey over the years.
If I could like it twice I would
Наш волшебник..
Devereaux was eating steak every night that season.
Thanks for digging these up. Been watching your vids a long time and you earned my sub
Great video! Thanks awood!
Thank you for this
It funny to listen to they way they talk about Datsyuk. Kind of knowing what the future is going to entail, kind of figuring him out in real time.
9:15 holy crap 59 shots on goal!?
4:22
You want to talk about another gear, look at that acceleration.
Damn awood you're a machine. Nice work as always.
of course his first NHL goal is a backhand
Worthy of being in the Top 100, don't know why people say he shouldn't be there smh
Nic Lovin because all people look at these days are stats and people don't know that stats don't tell the whole story. If u watch Datsyuk on a game by game basis he's a top 3 two way forward of all time... probably the best in my eyes but I'm a little bias
The argument starts at 10, best two-way player ever, incredibly creative, a generational talent.
Best player of all time in my opinion, and I’m a maple leafs fan.
Anybody who says that know shit about hockey. Datsyuk is top 50 in my book. And i don't even like the Wings
He's in my opinion the best player in the league from 2005-2013. I have him in my top 50 of all time.
Легенда 💪
Can you believe this was his ROOKIE season????
Паша , Ты велик и Могучь
Æė4ê[ő
Just how loaded the Red Wings were during that era
That first clip looked like it was from the 80s
No touble guys. I meant look at his stick. The rest is up to you.
Glory on ice, those Red Wings teams. When the announcer is calling out three or four legendary names on a single play, goals are almost a foregone conclusion.
Every team that year had to ask themselves “HOW THE F#%! DID WE PASS ON THIS GUY IN THE DRAFT?!?!?!?!?”
Nobody other than the Detroit Red Wings was scouting Europe or Russia at the time. It changed the whole scouting game, I mean him alone got every other team scouting Europe and Russia from that season on.
@@biggbluh it’s LIDSTROM.
8:15 the pass off the back of the goal in insane
I like the HD Quality haha, but honestly, my favorite 480p video ever!!
Dats. Period
gonna be real amazing to land another guy like him in the league in 2021 but I think Stevie Y has got a few players who might get close 🤷👍
Столько игрового интеллекта я только в Что Где Когда видел.
)))Внимание вопрос:
Как поступить, если не знаете, что делать с шайбой?
Досрочный ответ:
Доверьте это Дацюку!!!)))
Best
Our power play units Then vs. Now : (
The real goat
Where do you get these old clips?
He shouldn't have retired 😭
No one is getting any younger :(
True father time is undefeated
He didn't, he's playing in the KHL right now, captain of SKA Saint Petersburg. He wanted to play in his homeland before he retired.
He wanted to return to his family
Jesus christ, u forget this is a video of a rookie
7:10 He flipped that faceoff to himself! What the fuck!?
Каждый год шедевр,он уникум,Макдевид похож,но не то
Look at he stick. Imagine what we can do with a rifle. No spectatots expected though.
Again at 14:50!
How Good was Datsyuk , just ask Hull
This is pure filth :)
God that play at 13:40 was Russian Five shit...just beautiful tape to tape!
😃13
Павел Дацюк ЛЕГЕНДА но простите МОЯ ЛЕГЕНДА это СЕРГЕЙ МАКАРОВ
Ken daniels sounded funny back then
