@@brianwebb191yep I think you’re right, I been a company driver for over forty years working for lots of different places in all that time and trust me it isn’t easy making money in haulage especially if you’re an owner/ operator! Hence you need a whole lot of luck and some top rated contacts!
The truck is making good Progress keep working hard and it will pay out in the end all So most be amazing having a person who support you as Much as she dose keep it up your truck is gonne Look awasom!

All for the sake of a V8...! , i drove a 63 reg FH4 model 460 GT for 7 years , ex culina truck, plain white volvo maintainance covered all its life, just had it decaled and alloy wheels plus kelsa bars and it was a lovely truck, nice to drive and easy to keep clean, i'm no V8 fan boy, give me a volvo any day, i drove and owned the F88 in my profile pic for 25 years, it didn't make me rich, i only made good money when i drove the company FH4 and got a good wage, i'm retired now age 69.5

Would it not be better to run the truck for a few months at least to make sure all is good with the engine and running gear, before sinking money into a respray

I wouldn’t be so sure, a full engine overhaul can be very costly

Black will show all the scratches when you go through tree branches had a black car worse to keep clean. Looks good when you clean it but don’t last
black is to popular they look nice but just blend into all the other,s do something totally different than everyone else to make it stand out there,s so many colour combination,s out there i,d look around first before making a decision but looking forward to the end result

Why do you not want to choose a color yourself? The painter does not seem to be excited about having to choose it. Since it’s yours to drive, looking something up on the Internet and showing him what you like would be nice, no?

Also, black colour is hard to maintain when you will be working. All chips, scratches and dirt will be visible.
