Now imagine how cool a live action Talon would be, its long overdue for a Batman 'Court of Owls' live action adaptation.
That's why I like the DCAMU so much because they're not afraid to use storylines and references of the comics that's actually good. Most of the live action of DC always use the most popular comcis as reference and is afraid to use other stories because it might hurt their profits.
This could have worked with Matt Reeve's Batman especially since Bruce's parents there have shady dealings with the criminal underworld anyway

i genuinely thought that matt reeve's batman was gonna have bruce being unknowingly used by the court as their Talon. someone mentioned that it could still be done and i would love for that to be the case.
They were in Gotham.
Nightwing was supposed to be THE current Talon cause Haly’s circus had ties to the Court and gave them Talons iirc. And his great grandfather was one of the best Talons and gave his line the name Grayson as in the Gray Son of Gotham. Technically Dick also comes from one of the five founding families of Gotham. This Court of Owls story was also planned to be given to Dick’s Batman before the New 52 reboot.
I truly believed this would be an April fools video and this would actually be a Batman and Robin movie reaction.
I would actually still enjoy that.

An interesting fact about the comics; the court of owls was interested in getting Dick because his family had a long line of Talons but it was interrupted by Bruce adopting him
I absolutely love the little moment where Damien and Bruce go to watch a movie together. It just tugs at my heartstrings
I really REALLY hope that Matt Reeves does the Court Of Owls for his second Batman movie. And have the Talons be unstoppable, undead ninjas like in the comics.
It’ll be better if he saves it for the 3rd movie with references to them in the 2nd movie
Doubtful. He just wants to do another grounded iteration of Batman, as if that's what we need more of.
They could make so in the second movie Bruce tries to become the fake Bruce we all know and love, and with that he gets more involved with his company, and someone on the board could be an informant, maybe Talon himself, and then he could report back, and that's how he gets involved with the court
Matt Reeves doesn't seem interested in supernatural/fantasy, he is more interested in realistic/grounded.
@@hoya1178 then he should probably stay away from comics and make a cop drama. Personally I would like someone to create a believable and well-rounded Batman that can carry a movie on his own with the appropriate tone but also be able to interact with his sidekicks and the Justice League in a way that feels cohesive. I feel like you can't call something the perfect Batman or even a fully realized Batman if you can't do that with the character/story that you wrote

This version of the Dollmaker is perfeckt, his design/voice everything! They should make This version of him in live-Action
He’s such a tragic villain. Abused as a child to the point of where he becomes mentally stunted. So much so that he truly believes he’s saving the kids from experiencing the horrors he faced as a child

I love that they had Kevin Conroy (BATMAN TAS) as Thomas Wayne, good easter egg in this film
Not as good as the Young Justice Dick Grayson IMO, but still good to see Nightwing.
Pretty sure, that's the case for all the animated Nightwing's. Young Justice did really well with him

God I love these DC animated movies. DC truly has the best animated content out of any comic book company. Now If only they could make their live action stuff just as good 😂
exactly right?? the movie universe is in such a horrible mess as compared to the animated universes which are neatly organized into their own continuities

It's nice that Eric points out the fighting in this one. Always thought this was one of the stronger outings in the entire DCAMU.

When Eric said "Ive seen that from somewhere, I wonder if they used reference", yes they did. They used a fight scene from Slug Street Scrappers, a SUPER old internet show about a bunch of street fighters fighting with different martial arts styles. There was some controversy because they one for one took the fight scene from Slug Street Scrappers without any giving credit.
Dollmaker is voiced by "Weird Al" Yankovic. I really enjoyed the twistedness of the opening act.

I ended up disliking this movie because the comic its loosely based on (Born to Kill) is just amazing, and it does another disservice to Damian's character. Damian pretends to betray Batman in that comic but its just to get close to an enemy in order to defeat him and the point is made that Damian refuses to betray his father despite the issues they have, in this movie Damian just does the betrayal. Like wtf.
Agreed I think it tackles to much in a 1 hour n 20 minute movie. it’s adapting grant Morrisons batman & robin plus Scott Snyders court of owls & city of owls and like you mentioned Peter j tomasi born to kill and for some strange reason Scott synder endgame with the mech

Court of Owls comic is one of the greatest I've ever read. This is a pretty solid adaptation despite the changes. Bat Mech will always be awesome

Yes, they did, especially for the Batman vs Talon fight in the climax.
A part of it was based on a CZcams video from martial artist KwonKicker. He tried to sue because he was not notified nor did he give permission, but I don't know what happened to the case.
This is one of my favorite DC animated movies. The character of Talon is honestly one of my favorites as well.

Anyone else remember in the justice league unlimited cartoon episode were they met the justice lords, flash escaped his cell and attempts to free batman using every possible combination, and batman says 91939(there the numbers I use)...the code Damien used to get the Si was 1939, shows that batman loves 1, 3 and 9

I wish we had more Tomorrowverse movies already. Their first three showings (Man of Tomorrow, JSA: WWII, and The Long Halloween) put a lot of the DCAMU movies to shame in my mind. Can't wait for more.

The fight reference is the Raid 2 I believe. This one of the best of the new DC animated movies.

Is the release order the chronological order? 'Cause they watch it by the release order. They already reacted to JL Flashpoint Paradox, JL War, Son of Batman, JL Throne of Atlantis and not this.
They also reacted to Under The Red Hood, but only because it was heavily requested.
They unfortunately skipped, the great, Assault on Arkham, because it's not part of the DCAMU 😔

Instead of Talon getting the upper hand on him, have Bruce actually win, but he’s so fueled by rage that he starts going a bit too far on Takon, then Damian shows up just in the nick of time to stop him. Would’ve been a good character moment for him. Then, because Bruce is distracted, Talon stabs him in the back.
