#11 Wearing a conservative wool blazer with a pocket square with a conservative dress shirt with a conservative hair style, giving styling advice while wearing small-hoop earrings.
When the shirt has got two buttons open, I don't see the problem with the earrings, I find they look cool. If he was wearing a tuxedo it might be different.
MutR You clearly don't get it, do you? The exact STYLE advice that he is trying to demonstrate by wearing a CLASSIC blazer with CLASSIC shirt with a CLASSIC pocket square, along with NON-CLASSIC small-hoop earrings is NOT CLASSIC NOR STYLISH. Get it now?
Just my personal opinion, but I think that you should add some form of text and numbering system if you're going to make a: Top 3, Top 5, Top 10, Top NumbersFTW. Like, talking about No. 1 of a list and as your speaking have the number 1 on one side of the screen, including the qualities of number 1 on the same side. Just my opinion xD
I get what your saying, but does it really matter? it would look nicer I do agree. tho I was surprised it bothered someone enuf to mention it. you think it'll make a big difference? maybe huh
Roshi 420 I guess suspenders are great if you are overweight. I was thinking about giving my friend a pair - Im tired of see his butt crack all the time
I agree with everything Aaron said EXCEPT for the socks. I have 2 sets of socks brown and black same style. This makes pairing with outfits so much easier and does give a polished look.
Back when I was a little chubbier, I used to wear XL and wonder why I was soo like swimming in fabric, but now I lost about 30 pounds in a year so now I wear L shirts but they seem to fit me pretty comfortable, I like to be fitted now because confidence has gained so much in the past 8 months, thank you alpha m.
you have saved my life. Due to circumstances I grew up knowing or caring so little for these kind of things. You're giving me the edge I need to look presentable. Thank you!
+Marque734 Well if this guy wearing earrings is the reason you can't take style advice from him, then your wardrobe was wayyyyyyy past fucked up to begin with.
I like matching my socks to my tie when I'm wearing one. Best practice is to stick to 4 colours that match with mostly everything: dark green, blue, brown and gray socks on the menu for me.
I don't like red ties at all. The closest I getto a red tie / bowtie is BURGUNDY. Also for a yellow tie you could get a lighter shade of blue or a lighter shade of brown. Most of the socks I own are in the colour range that I've mentioned. However I have 1 or 2 pairs red / yellow and some other bold colours, but I don't wear them often because I don't have clothes to match them. I put them on when I'm wearing a monochromatic outfit and I want a splash of a different colour. Hope it helps. To me, socks are one of my favorite garments to wear.
I was thinking I needed some kind of fashion 101... never been a good dresser.. I wasn't even looking & I stumbled into this dude's channel. Been watching quite a few of his videos... All on point with good tips. Thank you alpha you da man
Dude u r epic, I told my pals here in Egypt about u and they already do like u, yet not all of them totally understand what u r saying so I recommend u either to add some more photos & figures or to slow down :D thank u for changing the world and God bless.
you nailed it Alpha...the only thing I think you missed was hair style. I'm blessed to have hair, and I take advantage of that. I notice 9 out of 10 guys don't spend even 10 seconds on their hair when going out. If you have hair, grow it out, go get it styled and see what a difference it makes.
You know, you call yourself Alpha M. but you're nothing like the "Alpha" guys i'm used to seeing. Me personally, I'm the kind of guy who if I feel like it, I will wear socks with sandals and just not care, because I literally don't give a fuuuuuuuuuck, but that's because I'm comfortable with who I am and my fashion sense (or lack thereof). However, there are a lot of impressionable younger people out there who have no direction, so they look to anyone they can for some kind of guidance. What I like about you is how you do come across as Alpha, but you do it in a very respectful, intelligent, charismatic and caring way, and honestly I appreciate that more than you know, because I hate seeing impressionable people be influenced by bad people. In my opinion, being "Alpha" doesn't mean you're a handsome bro who gets poon left and right; it means you're comfortable with who you are, confident with who you are, and not an asshole about who you are, and every time I watch your videos (because there are definitely times when I do care about my fashion!), I always feel like I learn something without it being forced down my throat, or made to feel bad because I didn't or don't feel exactly how you do. Thanks for that, and keep rocking on.
I wore my Fendi belt with chinos and a short sweat shirt tucked like your tutorial with brogue chukkas and I felt well dressed. Your videos are helpful as much as I hate to say.
*SO "ON POINT" WITH EVERY POINT!* This vid was perfect. And point #1 is so true! Thanks to my awesome dad, a real gentleman never wears baggy pants. That's a real fashion faux pas. Thanks, Adrian! :D
Aaron u always give the coolest advice and funniest (in a good way) way to get your point across. I have watched all your video's a few times. Thank you for making me laugh when I was recovering in hospital. U have done so much to help me through my rough time by making me laugh and keeping my spirit up and it is more than I could ever repay you. Cheers Rikiya Sato, Nagoya city, Japan.
I really like and appreciate your gratitude to share your specialness in grooming with all of us with such a bold way ,it has really helped me like god .
alpha m. You should include some pictures of the things you talk about. Your videos are really helpful but the points will be a lot easier to remember for us visual thinkers out there if you use some visual cues. Thanks :)
Hey, Tony. Hey, guys. A couple observations from the distaff side: 1. Perfume and cologne is usually overdone, screams "I'm trying too hard", and is often cheap stuff. After an hour on the body, all scents smell different than they do in the bottle. When choosing cologne, put a small dab on your wrist, then rub it in hard, until the spot is real warm. Find something else to do for a few minutes, then smell the cologne. It will have changed. But, for the better? If not, fugitt it. (Twice in my life, I've caught a waft of a citrus scent, and actually stopped to look around trying to spot the wearer of that awesome cologne. I wish there were more wearing it, since personally I hate the smell of musk.) 2. If you keep an eye on the dryer, and bring your stuff out when it is ALMOST DRY, and then, put the shirts on hangars, arranging them a little, buttoning the top two buttons , and folding the rest, then just leave it all out, shirts hanging up, jeans and t-shirts sitting on the dryer for another hour or so, until completely dry, everything will look fantastic, yet not so "fussy" as it it had been ironed. Obviously, the shirts will be coming out first, t-shirts, socks and shorts next, and last, the jeans. Don't "cook" your shorts, just damp-dry. The heat destroys the elastic. And t-shirts are much easier to tug back into their original form when slightly damp.
+AutumnAsh81 I use the same belt for going to uni / for funerals/for weddings/ for clubbing/ for my job interviews/ I have one good quality Belt for everyday and all the occasions, I don't have time to adjust myself to society :) and I even use that same belt for the role plays in bed :P
Number one rule Go Cash out on some Tapered Balmain Denim and some essential Ralph Lauren and Burberry t shirts. Then Get you some Simple Louis Flats from Loubouton and get a nice Movado watch a designer belt of your choice preferably a Louis Vuitton Gucci or Ferragamo. Then get some attention catching glasses like Rayban Club masters or the Versace 4296. You can do this for the low price of $3500-$400
I nearly bought a Calvin Klein jacket. It fit like a glove and looked magnificent. But it was just too much $$ for my budget. It was a charcoal grey jacket like you mentioned in your other video , the must- haves.
hi i've been watching your video for a while now and i learn a lot..can you pls make a video or tutorial on how to dress or how to choose a pants if you have bowleg?
Slightly baggy trousers can work sometimes. Not everyone had to be in pain when trying to look good. Older, maybe taller men, can rock some jeans that are a little wide of they have a belt and some nice shoes.
Hey Alpha im a huge fan I love your videos but let me just tell u this im a young teenage boy and this videos come in handy but what I'd love to see is if u can make a video about How to budget money?
You can wear shorter pants ! ( some men fashion, skateboarders ( if you see all converse skate videos or polar skate co vids ) wears shorters pants, and it look great )
Thoughts on contrasting colours inside and outside the collars and cuffs of dress shirts? (not talking flamboyant contrasting colours like Cameron on Modern Family wears)....but more subtle like different color blues etc. And white collars on coloured dress shirts... thanks...cheers. Personally I started wearing them because I wanted the fabric next to my skin to be more comfortable...also having the inside of a white collar slightly darker cuts down on showing dirt. Also, as long as someone isnt rolling up the sleeves on a red shirt with yellow inside cuffs on purpose...I dont think it looks bad...seems to get a bad rap though...
I hate to see all the comments on videos of this nature complaining about how none of this applies to teenagers and young folk. I'm in high school, I wear a tie to school every day. I wear a bow tie and a sweater vest and dress slacks and brogues to school. No one will make fun of you for it. They will however; be jealous. And you'll be able to have any girl you want. I won several suits, I wear them all the time. If you own a suit, you will have an opportunity to wear it. I wear sport coats just to go out with my friends. I can take any advice people like Aaron give me. heck, some of these tips I don't take because they're too casual for me. Aaron suggests owning whit V neck tees. I don't wear tee shirts. They're too casual for me. There's nothing stopping teenagers and young people from dressing well. Dressing well can open so many opportunities for young folk like me. It can help you land a job, teachers will like you better, people will respect you more, you look very much older, you can take any guy's girlfriend. Just kidding about that last one though, that's a dick move. But my point is; you're never too young to better yourself.
I agree, I'm currently in college, and I normally go there after work, but it's a family owned business, so I don't really have a dress code there, so I can wear pretty much anything I want anyways, but I do get compliments usually regarding the way I dress, a lot of girls that go to class with me say I'm one of the better dressed men in campus, and I feel quite proud of that, and I just follow (some) of the tips here, and learning to mix and match my clothes, there's not much to it really...
unidigistudios couldn't agree more. I get the same comments. Dressing well isn't hard. But it opens a lot more doors. You get better service at places, you get upgraded more at hotels and on planes. People are just friendly.
People do make fun of those losers who wear ties to school. They're just too full of themselves to notice. At basketball and soccer practices and banquets, everybody makes fun of them. Coaches, cheerleaders, heck sometimes parents. Noticed this too when I would hang out with my friends from other schools too. It looks fucking retarded when you have a tie on for AP Lang (for example).
SkittlesVSnickers That may be the case where you live but certainly not where I do. I assume you live in America. I do not. People outside of America tend to be a bit more sophisticated. People don't generally dress like that where I live but I don't get made fun of.
SkittlesVSnickers I guarantee that if your clothes fit well and look polished people will take notice. People can be asses sometimes, but when you take yourself seriously, so will those that matter. I personally would not choose to wear a tie on any random day at public school. But as long as you are confident, you could wear a trash bag and look poised. Besides high school is a tiny fraction of your life. You will learn to surround yourself with positive people and disassociate with negativity. Unfortunately, it's hard to get away from these people in high school lol. Find something that's stylish and comfortable for you. I am MOST comfortable when I know I could meet any random person on the street and make a good first impression. That's a good style to hold on to.
I think the oversized shirt part can be arguable in these current months. Elongated, more drapey looking shirts are apart of fashion nowadays. While not for everyone, they are pretty flattering with how they rest and how they work. I ended up getting into it just because I had the bad habit of nuking my clothes in the dryer, and wound up just going to larges or even XL's to compensate. Since then I've really realized that a more drapey or elongated shirt can be really flattering when you have a thinner demeanor. That's just me though!
agreed. all of my plain colored t shirts are the elongated drapery ones. I like layering them though. I'll wear a black one underneath a red and blue flannel and then wear a black denim jacket over that. the lengths and proportions are all different and it ends up looking really cool.
+Morty You said "...are a part of fashion nowadays...". That implies this kind of fashion most likely will go away someday and therefore it's inferior style. Think of some weird fashion from the past everybody today laughs about. That's the stuff you want to avoid. A fitting shirt never gets out of style. Well fitted clothes in general are timeless. Next thing...don't put your good clothes in a dryer! Especially not dress shirts. Iron them while they still are a little damp.
Dude thank you , really helpfull but can u advice me on whether to show off my boots while wearing by tuking the jeans or pants inside or does it look unstylish please do reply
#11 Wearing a conservative wool blazer with a pocket square with a conservative dress shirt with a conservative hair style, giving styling advice while wearing small-hoop earrings.
What's wrong with earrings?
It's 2015 you know
I don't think there is a problem with his jacket and shirt but the earings look really silly, especially with a suit.
Macker875 Right, that was exactly my point :-)
When the shirt has got two buttons open, I don't see the problem with the earrings, I find they look cool. If he was wearing a tuxedo it might be different.

Thanks a lot alpha m.

TOP 1 Common style mistake: shining earrings !!!!!!!!
Every time I watch one video It just gets to a big 1 hour marathon
yeah same
wow you guys have some self control i lack. i cant do just one hour lol
When guys wear suspenders and a belt at the same time, it's one or the other fellas
+Peter Sok I disagree with that one
+Welther47 do you know what the purpose of suspenders are
Roshi 420
I guess suspenders are great if you are overweight. I was thinking about giving my friend a pair - Im tired of see his butt crack all the time
+Peter Sok
Right, how can you trust a man that not even trust his own pants?

I agree with everything Aaron said EXCEPT for the socks. I have 2 sets of socks brown and black same style. This makes pairing with outfits so much easier and does give a polished look.
Is it weird that I'm a girl and I like watching your videos?

The 90s called. They want their earrings back.
Well their joke would be more like. The 80s called and they want their earrings back, but close enough.
+Neo Smith stopped the video after 10 seconds, can't take style advice from this earrings
+Marque734 Well if this guy wearing earrings is the reason you can't take style advice from him, then your wardrobe was wayyyyyyy past fucked up to begin with.

This is perfect! I have a date tomorrow and you could bet I'll be using that dimple trick right away! Thanks a lot!! You're awesome
I needed this video. I need this whole channel.

So glad you said the button on the suit!
And tucking in the dress shirt!
Cut the tag off the suit sleeve
Cut the white sew on pieces off your pants!
I was skeptical about this channel at first, but great content (like this video) won me over. Subscribed.

haha...same here. I just hated this guy before. It was a grave error.
you might have the best men channel on youtube
Grown men wearing earrings wasn't mentioned.
+Teemu Laine Welp, it only took about 20 for them to become a staple of douchebaggery
Suits are awesome. Since I was a little kid I wore suits, I had to wear them in high school and now they are just a part of my life.

Cheers for the tip about the buttons on a suit! I always did the bottom button up, and had no idea it was for only for show!

I would love to see a video on how to do different hair styles. I'm growing my hair out for the first time and I want to get some ideas! Thanks!!!
you nailed it Alpha...the only thing I think you missed was hair style. I'm blessed to have hair, and I take advantage of that. I notice 9 out of 10 guys don't spend even 10 seconds on their hair when going out. If you have hair, grow it out, go get it styled and see what a difference it makes.
i wish my hair aint receeding so much :(( im 19 tho
Your videos are helpful as much as I hate to say.
wow this guy knows everything. very helpful 👍
Thanks, I had no idea about the correct belt choice and the tie dimple.

Such a likable dude.

Your videos are helping me a lot, thank you. I'm really improving my style.

I love this guy! For some reason at 3:19 it sounds like, "It takes trial and errrr." I like that he comes off really polished... but not too polished.
Thanks Alpha, brilliant as per usual !
Video on How to iron a shirt (properly) casual and formal.
great stuff!
you missed socks and sandals
Alpha have you seen the new trivago commercial? He took your advice!
Hey, Tony. Hey, guys.
A couple observations from the distaff side:
1. Perfume and cologne is usually overdone, screams "I'm trying too hard", and is often cheap stuff.
After an hour on the body, all scents smell different than they do in the bottle.

I think he meant like shorter pants that aren't tapered on the bottom part, for example boot cut jeans and regular fit
thanks again alpha for the great dress advice!! :DDDDDD making all of us look better you know...clothing wise

Whats your thoughts on henley button ups?
You are great bro
Iron them while they still are a little damp.
well .. u know sir .. u become a friend to me .. U r kinda energetic ... that's nice and different .. good day.
