Nice to see honest people not trying to sell the more expensive products, just being honest ! Nice work dude 🤙
If it looks cooler I go faster right?
Always!
Also stickers add hp too
Yes
dude, you were just reading my thoughts. i was just doing research for dropper post yesterday.
cool.
You have my respect for giving the honest opinions dude. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for this. I’ve just found both in my local shop at the exact same price. I got the black one. Will be popping back in for the Kashima tomorrow.
Great video! Came here from MTB Podcast and they were right, it looks like the perfect partnership. :)
Wow! This will look great on my 1996 Trek Y frame with the Kashima coat on the raw 90's carbon !!!!
Nice overview! Always wondered why the price was different and if there was anything else that actually mattered other than the Kashima coat. Guess not :) Performance it is!
Cash-ima for me, looks bling with the gray.
love the honesty. even if fox won't. another great video.
Oh dude, the Transfer post is money. I have the performance series on my bike and love it. No issues. I'd like to throw on a WolfTooth ReMote on there.
Thank you for the review. Being cheap, i just got this 2018 model for my bike. It was a good deal at $135 usd.
They’re easy as hell to install too.
The best upgrade you can do.
Actually there is a difference, the Kashima Coating ist much harder, more scratch resistant and over all more resilient as well as slightly smoother. You won’t feel it at first but if you use a shock/ fork for a long time you will notice that to feel about as good as the kashima model the performance one will need more service. On dropper posts I don’t really think it would be that big a deal because they don’t need to feel plush and soft. Still they will last longer with kashima coating.
I personally think the effluvetic gold Kashima looks like ass, but it's nice that they offer it in a shade that matches the forks. Now if they could get their shit together on the shock shade. Also bike companies need to quit mismatching them. The Pivot Mach 5.5 should have all PE or all Kash. Lastly, handlebar companies need to start offering their carbon bars in stanchion colors. #rulesaccordingtome #firstworldproblems #matchydiva
NoBrakes23 those hashtags lol
I've read that the Kashima is darker on the shock because the coating is thicker.

The Rhins Ranger #iagree
You are an extremely strange person.
I'm just going to match it to the stanchion on DVO because there are no review on the garnet and the reverb has problems
I prefer the look of the black Anodize than kashima coat, I would agree with reliability with the transfer, it hasn’t failed me yet for the past couple months of owning it. As opposed to my reverb, it failed in the first few weeks of owning it..
Brand X from Chain reaction cycle is 120 bucks and works just as well as the fox and look just as good too
I will have them both thnx....
Yea, I prefer black but if my fork and shock had kc, I'd go with it on my post.
Gold kashima is the way to go!
How do dropper posts connect to the operating lever at the bars please?
Very honest! I'd pick Kashima anyway!
If I wanted to remove the externally routed post....is it easy to remove the cable?
Thanks!
That just depends on how it is externally routed, if it is just zip tied onto the frame then it should be pretty easy!
Hey, does the Transfer have an adjustable air pressure valve/chamber or is it a fixed sealed unit? If yes, where is the Schrader valve located?
Thanks for watching! The Transfer posts all do have a Schrader valve under the seat clamp where you can adjust air pressure.
@@WorldwideCyclery Thanks!
Do you know how i can get an fox Performance shock or fork and how i can get a superdeluxe coil for my Hightower lt
Internet, my dude
Would you hang your bike on the saddle when the Transfer is completely extended e.g. when putting bike on the lift at the local Bikepark ?
Yes, I would always recommend having any dropper post fully extended when storing a bike or hanging it from a rack or stand.
I must be unlucky. My first transfer post needing binning after corrosion and my second transfer is not really really slow and not returning to full height
Kashima is closest match in color to SRAM’s gold or copper?
The coating on my Fox forks looks like Zirconium Nitride. That gold dropper post looks like titanium Nitride. Just sayin
Found the performance for $189 so performance was a no brained for me, also the all black better fits my build
Kashima is dope. But yes, do it all or nothing.
Some seatposts have performance issues *cough* rockshox reverb
im literally on the way to the post office shortly to send my 2nd post off ..🤨
No shit, that's why I'm here, looking to get rid of the cold temp stickiness. I can get a raceface for 65 but I want to get a fox to match my stuff.
My fox transfer is the worst dropper I have ever owned. 2nd time back to fox in two months. Meanwhile my DNM dropper is still going strong after 3 years with zero maintenance
Get the Wolf tooth remote 100% better than the Fox cost the same
Do you need pay xtra price for lever during buying a dropper post
with fox yes
whats new with the 2018 version of the fork? any valve, seal, internal changes?
For 2018 the 32, 34, 36, and 40 get an all new EVOL air spring in which riders should notice an increase in suppleness. Hope this helps!
oh opps. i didn't mean to type fork there. im aware of the new evol air changes to the forks. i mean whats the difference between the 2017 and 2018 fox transfer droppers?
Updated internals to improve reliability and performance : )
G U Y F I E R I
I just installed mine and three ride in it is leaking downward on rough rocky rides, having to keep standing up and reset. Is there a weight limit? or setting adjustment? I weigh 220 naked and 240 with camelback full and clothing, dont ride naked much.
Forrest Miller you need to twist the dropper cable counter clock wise.
WORTH THE UPGRADE BECAUSE CHICKS DIG GOLD!
Interesting topic. They reckon that their 2014/2015 performance shox's wasn't that good and that the kasima where better. Would that be the case today or are the two very similar now?
Both are very similar now and offer great performance all around. Just depends on if you want the Kashima coating :)
The kashima is bad .. my dropper coating is peeling everywhere after 1 year but fox doesn’t warrant anything after a me year..
Won’t make a difference, it’s only color. Not to mention hydrodynamic slip is how the post works. The game
better than KS Jeff?
Tough call, both are great! The majority of customers we see go with Fox though :)
KS might have finally got their shit together, but after years of owning one that didn't work, (Even after multiple reservices,) it's hard to get another. I'm still seeing KS posts on demo bikes that don't work. After getting a Fox DOSS that simply works, I'm done dealing with garbage posts that cost an arm and a leg.
Save your money go to chain reaction cycle and buy a brand X dropper. Best 120 bucks I ever spent and it looks and works just as good if not better then most expensive posts.
Tha Joint excellent post for the money. bikediscount.de sell them very cheap..my friend got one and it preforms perfectly.
Some more expensive brand droppers, such as Syncros are just re-labelled Brand-X.
Gold is 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
There's a lot of solid droppers out there today... just don't buy a KS lev, you'll regret it.
Been running a ks lev integra for a year and a half with no issues.
@@HandcuffCharlie Same, not a single Problem. And it feels way better than any other dropper i had, including the reverb. But i've heard that a lot of people have problems with KS droppers.
Yes I do regret it. I've been on a KS Lev for 4 years now and this piece of crap lets me down at least once in a year...but I come from a RS Reverb so...
Update: figured out the ks lev issue. Your bike comes with outer housing long enough to work for the seat post being all the way out as far as it can go (if you buy a complete bike with one like I did). If you have normal sized legs and got the right size drop, it should be pretty close to all the way in your frame, in which case the lever will be rock hard and inconsistent. YOUR HOUSING LENGTH NEEDS TO BE CUT. Pull your post up in small increments and test the dropper. You'll find a spot where it works best. Cut the outer housing (and cable if you cut alot of housing off) down by the difference between your normal insertion height and the optimal one. Reinstall and you're good to go!
I have been saying this since day one and I’ve gotten people telling me the gold will perform better. Get the hell outta here. It’s literally paint
Not paint anadizing
Kashima flakes the hell off and that's down time while waiting for warranty claims to come through. Pointless.
