Going for my A&P mechanic certification and watching this video of seeing this in action is so cool! Got to construct and solder a magneto synchronizer that looks exactly like that but with a different tone and works like a charm. Thanks for the video!
This was a big help. I'm taking my o&p for my power plant in a few days. I've been doing structural work for over a year so I forgot how to do some of the stuff and this cleared it up big time. Thank you.
SoCalGuy93065, that is a great point!! Yes, only A&Ps are allowed to do this. The video was made by my students in the maintenance program of a Part 147 school. Thank you.
I sort of figured that was the case - just having a little fun with people who aren't used to appearing on camera - obviously feeling a little awkward about it, and not quite sure how to end their presentation. They do seem to know their stuff, and good luck to them in their A&P careers. :-)
Just wanted to say great video, I'm currently going to school to get my A&P and I like to look back on this video to keep mag timing fresh in my memory. So thank you for this video :)

Excellent video and many thanks to the kids for teaching this old man how to set his 4371 mags.

lets just put the most awkward kids on camera.....lol
Is this some kind of a school project to make these instructional videos?
what the name of this timing tool ?
That's a magneto synchronizer. Also called a buzz box.
"Have fun with your magnetos"??? You'd better not be playing with those unless you're a certified A & P.
lighten up Francis
147 dumbass...
