Very nicely done. I'm currently learning about these in A&P class and this has been a wonderful help!

Welcome! I will eventually post more that are relative to obtaining the A&P licenses.

Just sent mine in for a 500 hr. O.H., they found both mags had cracked cases😮

Wow...could you tell before removal? Was the engine performance poor or unnoticeable?

Everything was normal, the engine showed nothing. Only thing I noticed was a drop of engine oil after every flight that progressed to a few drops and I think we found the culprit. 😕

Good video, very helpful. Could be helpful to display voltmeter/ammeter settings when in use to display what exactly is being checked. Great job on video!

Slick mags are throw away, one run mags. I have rebuilt 100 or more Bendix 200 and a few 1200 series mags.

For training purposes, we tear down for inspection, timing, reassembly, and functional test.

Slick magnetos are not throw away after one run magnetos. 500 hour inspections can be continued indefinitely. They work fine if properly maintained.

Plastic gears? These things are a deathtrap.

So that smaller nylon gear you see at 1:50 on the left is $180 cdn. So that’s about $132 US. Unbelievable. The points are also ridiculously over priced. They are shooting themselves in the foot by gouging people to the point that they kill general aviation.
