If this was in 2021,Granger would have used Eddie's racism as a justifiable reason to fire him so he didn't have to listen to Eddie harp on about Union Rules and Eddie wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
What this show actually does very well is show bigots and biggotted attitudes up for how ridiculous they are. The language may not be PC by modern standards but I don't view this show as racist. The humour comes from showing us how silly we are when we we fail to tolerate and show prejudice to others.
What a load of old rubbish about a work shy racist, this isn't funny! I'd prefer to watch Bless This house, George and Mildred, Steptoe and Son, now those are funny TV shows
The language used by Eddie was a deliberate ploy to make him appear as a ridiculous racist. It wasnt meant to encourage racism but to show it's cowardice...hence the black man threatening Eddie with a spanking when all else failed. You could call it social engineering by proxy but it was embarrassing clunky crap sit com to most of us.
The way you get up from the beached whale position as a heavily pregnant woman is, you roll onto your side, get onto all 4's then push yourself up from there. I had to do it all the time, as my useless, now ex-husband, promised to exchange the mattress on the floor in his ex-bachelor pad, for a real bed, but never did. And as he was never home, I had to handle myself whatever happened. I became quite the expert at ex-beach waling myself!

It's like going back in time. Edward Heath , the then prime minister .
Indeed
If this was in 2021,Granger would have used Eddie's racism as a justifiable reason to fire him so he didn't have to listen to Eddie harp on about Union Rules and Eddie wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
If this was 2021 Eddie wouldn't be employed, neither would Bill probably
Eddski and Billski would have their jobs
Imagine the uproar if this show aired now lol
It's ridiculous these days are needed now , would sort all the idiots out
Mark Anthony best shows the English comedy love them all
What this show actually does very well is show bigots and biggotted attitudes up for how ridiculous they are.
Funny Funny show, The poms made good comedy shows back then
The best
Good comedy today's comedy is rubbish people are 'not allowed to laugh today give me the good old days
Just make it funny
Dancing in thin lines of racism and comedy. Great cultural study of that decade. Thank you for uploading in such a good condition.
Knickers! 🤣🤣🤣
I got called sambo by some yobs the other day.
This is still going on.
Don't worry about it ..I'm white and get racists comments ..
What’s wrong with that, you should have said - what’s the problem, snowflake - get over it
*Googles hinge-pins *
The way you get up from the beached whale position as a heavily pregnant woman is, you roll onto your side, get onto all 4's then push yourself up from there. I had to do it all the time, as my useless, now ex-husband, promised to exchange the mattress on the floor in his ex-bachelor pad, for a real bed, but never did. And as he was never home, I had to handle myself whatever happened. I became quite the expert at ex-beach waling myself!
This could never be played these days. But no one thought anything of it. Today people play the racist card
You make me happy when eddle booth live good meds Allah eddle booth hgfo😅😅😅
Wow I was 3 almost 4
It was a different era a thought it was funny they are getting one up on each other is specially with the cars at the scrap yard both there cars were scrap never for get that
It makes fun of the racist and shows real affection between the other characters. And doesn't crow on about grievances and privilege which just boringly infects all media now.
I just we have 4 or 5 players back come the 6th of January when we play away to to Sunderland in the fa cup mate
proper baby clothes not loincloth's 😂😂😂.
The two lead characters probably watched this episode in 2000 and think how we had come!
Not really. It's comedy, get over it.
@@Puppy-ew4be What's your problem??

No chance of seeing this anymore. When this and Alf Garnet is allowed on tv again, then normality will be restored.
I’m sure this will get beeped out soon , I suggest you record it before that happens.
