Just noticed -- since they were children, they always bowed after every performance, and this one is no exception. I read that their father taught them that.
Love this song. Barry has remarked this is one song he doesn’t remember writing. 😂 I think it’s a commentary on their struggles at the time with record sales and their record company telling them they had to change their material or they would drop them. Love songs that showcase Barry’s soulful natural voice.
@@sierraseven3680 that’s an unfortunately twisted viewpoint. It’s apparent in interviews Barry struggled deeply with the loss of his brothers. He didn’t want to continue The Bee Gees after Mo died and was depressed when Rob died. He’s since written with his sons and collaborated with other artists. He’s also written songs he hasn’t recorded. He’s in a different phase in his life. That’s no reason to diminish the accomplishments of Barry and his brothers. They always worked as a team on Bee Gees songs. Barry also solo wrote for Andy, other artists and extensively produced.
They sang this song together only in live performances. On the 1972 studio recording, Barry sang alone and the song went on the vinyl LP with only Barry's vocals. Robin had a particular problem and was absent on the day of the shoot.
@@niltonbartalini9837I did notice it was written by Barry & Mo, with no collaboration from Robin on the entire song....except him singing during this performance.🎼
Listen to their album Horizontal. Its not hard rock, but its the closest the Bee Gees got to heavy rock music I think. The Change Is Made as an example

A little history part of these song: ALIVE Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb (1971) 21 October 1971 stereo 4:03, lead vocal Barry Gibb To Whom It May Concern, 1972 Bee Gees Barry Gibb - vocal, guitar Robin Gibb - vocal Maurice Gibb - vocal, bass, piano, guitar, organ Alan Kendall - guitar Geoff Bridgeford - drums orchestra arranged by Bill Shepherd engineer: Mike Claydon, Damon Lyon-Shaw, Richard Manwaring, Andy Knight producer: Robert Stigwood and the Bee Gees October 1971, IBC Studios, London A week later they recorded two very good and very different songs that were released. Robin had the day off, and Barry’s recording work was limited to vocal on one song. Barry commented in the Tales from the Brothers Gibb box set that he does not even recall writing ‘Alive’. Was it mainly Maurice’s song? As mastered for the LP, the inherent dynamic range in the vocal and piano has unfortunately been compressed almost out of existence, but it still comes across as a expressive ballad. Note Maurice’s descending bass guitar toward the end (almost lost in the mix). By Joseph Brennan

There’s nothing vile about Barry’s falsetto. In the world of falsettos it’s considered one of the best. This comment just makes you sound close-minded. To dismiss something completely like this just comes across as small. 🤷♀️ You don’t have to enjoy people using falsetto (hard to imagine why not-you’re missing out on some amazing songs), but try to have an open mind about it. I don’t always like Robin’s singing style, but I can at least appreciate it as something unusual and extraordinary. And sometimes I do like his voice, and I think he adds to most songs. I also really love Barry’s regular voice. It’s really strong, but can also be tender and beautiful. I doubt they would’ve gotten so big without Barry’s falsetto. It’s what sent them into the stratosphere. That’s why Robin and Co continued to ask him to use it, because it was leading to success. 💰 There are many songs, before and after Fever, where he doesn’t use it. And in many songs where he does use it, he also often uses his regular voice, adding the falsetto artistically. Once again, there’s nothing vile about his falsettos, but you don’t have to enjoy falsettos, even amazing ones. You could at least be able to acknowledge the exceptional skill, though. That’s being honest.
Su voz natural era buena pero el falsete en ocasiones era exagerado y hasta ridiculo ..la voz de Mo era muy linda y la de Robin hermosa nada que envidiar a su hermano mayor que tenia mucho de lider y de mandon
