  • This video showcases Unused Guardians restored in Sonic Frontiers. There's the Arachnid, Beetle, and Ultimate Shinobi. Each guardian has new patterns, attacks, and appearances! Also included the Supreme fight with unused attacks and QTEs. Played with the Combat DX mod for harder difficulty.

    Now that I think about it, the caterpillar is the last remaining “golden variant” of any of the enemies, concept art shows there was meant to be gold versions for most enemy’s

      Gold Beetle would be fitting, as it matches the Gold Beetles from SA2. Hoping to see the unused enemies expanded on in the future.

    I love mods that tweak the enemies and seeing these unused bosses in action is a delight. I am extremely satisfied with the gameplay (even more than normal) that I got for this video. You guys are in for a treat!
    Somehow glitched out of the Arachnid's flying section. This was the only time I have ever done that in Spider or this mod as well. lol
    Figured I'd add Supreme as well, because you can play it without the announcer/voices now.

      @@justnicyk-v2607 Pretty sure the goal was to mimic the unused bosses, aren't the actual code of them. That's good enough for me, pretty cool none the less.

      Now its reported SEGA decided to offer Sonic Team a higher budget to make games now that Frontiers is the most successful game in the whole franchise
      I mean a higher budget doesnt always mean things'll get better, but the fact that SEGA gave them a minimal enough budget to begin with really shows how little faith they had in the devs - this game changed that but what they will do with that higher budget now, its too soon to tell

      I wouldn’t say that this game was unfinished, most game developers leave things on the cutting room floor simply because certain things just aren’t fun or aren’t worth the effort.

There a plenty of unfinished and rushed development decisions sonic team had to make that is revealed simply by playing the game. It was reported that the team had to contest SEGA’s idiotic demand to release the game a year early.

    Man, Ultimate Shinobi felt like a Super Boss, which is fitting since it's the first boss you fight in the game. I feel like the only other way to one-up that would be if there was a post-game secret Titan that shows up on Rhea Island for you to fight and it turns out that it's ANOTHER evolution of Ninja gone full Titan and now super huge, ready for one final showdown against Sonic.

    THE ULTIMATE SHINOBI FIGHT WENT SO FUCKING HARD, OMG MY LORD, ESPECIALLY AT THE END WHEN YOU HAD NO RINGS AND THE SHINOBI'S HP WAS LOW! INSANE 🔥
    Also, I hope for the love of god, Kishimoto adds timed parry in this game, you can see how vastly the game's combat benefits with greater difficulty.

    (Just to add this But I think that the spider boss that u fight in the air[ 0:15 ] is the one that's supposed to fire mines at u the mines u can ciloop to fire back at the spider to nock it to the ground

    Combat mods that increase hp pools wouldn't be needed if frontiers had scarlet nexus difficulty scaling. Scarlet Nexus has it so enemies are always on par with you and its quite nice when replaying older levels cause of this. Another route is the devs could have added a slider to tweak enemies to your own personal liking and a mod that lets you do that would go hard.

      @@sonicdml4175 I always found level up systems only rewarding for the new attacks and skills. Never loved the stats making you able to steamroll a game if you powergrind or do all the available sidequests at any given point. I play a lot of rpg's and its a common problem that happens when you grind classes and sidequests where all of a sudden out of nowhere you go from a 0 to a god. Level up system can still be rewarding even if enemies always match you by the rewards you are given. I would love to see more games take this approach instead of the power fantasy approaches done often.

      Frontiers levels and skill tree are completely seperate, so making enemies always match you would mean that Speed is the only stat worth anything at all.
      Extreme mode prevents level-ups completely anyway.

      @@dave9515 Well this might be to your personal liking but I'm quite the opposite of you on this topic I hate it when enemies scale with me.
      I want in the end of the game go back to level 1 and utterly steamroll everything that used to be a challenge.

    The arachnid boss looks super unfinished since it has no collision detection with the ground, but it looks awesome too. Probably my favorite unused boss.

    A lot of the gaurdians need more attacks and variations. Spider and caterpillar are the weakest. Also fortress does literally nothing interesting

    Man literal, estos jefes son muchos más difíciles, apúreme por fin se ve como un verdadero enemigo y no como una burla, aunque sigo instiendo en que debieron haber dejado el juego con la idea de que kronos, rhea y la última que no recuerdo como se llama fueran una solo isla, era mucho mejor, además que los combates de gigato y supremo serían mejores, ya que en ese video filtrado de la beta del juego, se ve que la batalla contra giganto iba a ser en toda la isla, hubiera sido mejor, además si querían lugares diferentes con distintos retos, podían hacer que cuando jugáramos la primera parte del juego los sectores de rhea y ouranos creo que se llama, estuvieran igual, normales, pero cuando llegara la parte de las torres ahí aparecerían en más lugares que las que aparecieron ya que habría más espacio, y para la última parte del juego pues podrían haber hecho que el panorama de la misma isla se alterara, como que se viera más destruido y con fetas más difíciles, para que así en la pelea contra supremo se viera mejor

      @@christopherford39 The parry works just fine for me. Now, the homing attacks act like they don't want to work sometimes. Sega definitely need better play testers I guess. Cause, now that I think about it, that might be why a lot of past games didn't go so well apart from the fact that Sonic fans never know what they want in a Sonic game.

      I'm pretty sure it's meant to be floating as it's webs holding it up. Also there's some beta footage of it in the air in Rhea's forest.

    Sonic team: alright we're finally finished with the game, now to drain it of all of its animations, bosses , cinematic cutscenes, and make the final boss a circle and we should have ourselves the perfect sonic game.

      A lot of this stuff was cut due to Sonic Team running out of time, Resources, Budget and since they only had 60 devs it’s still impressive all this was in the works, it’s unfortunate some of this has to be cut because of the lack of Time, Devs and Budget SEGA didn’t give Sonic Team. Seems though that the Director is working on fixing the Supreme Boss Fight and the Final Boss to fix its Anti Climacticness in the DLC Updates

    If youre comboing the enemy so much we cant even appreciate what's new... Its boring watching sonic destroy an enemy with the same moves everytime...

      I mean it's kind of a pick your poison, If you use regular Sonic (Especially at max level) you wouldn't even see half the moves the enemies do. It's really hard to balance because if you use combat DX on the later enemies, you almost need a level 20 attack or something for it to go faster.
      We need a mod where you can adjust the stats on the fly. That way for each enemy we can balance it abit better where it doesn't have too little health or to much health. (without having 100 save files)
