My first dog was a papillon. I had no idea! She was so smart. I could teach her tricks in less than five minutes. I taught her to roll over which she understood immediately. I had no experience at all with dogs. She followed me like a shadow, studied my body language. Boyshe loved to run, chase ball, long walks, and just was a bundle of happy, energetic, funny, affection.
I just got a papillon puppy a couple days ago!
I got one a month ago. Iâm in love with her. I didnât know much about them, she was a stray. My friendâs daughter was fostering her, looking for a home. Iâm the home & I love â Cricketâ Sheâs about a year old. We put signs up, adds in local papers, nobody came forward. Sheâs mine now. She gets along perfectly with my 2 cats. I canât believe how perfect she is.
A Papillon called Dylan was best in show at Crufts . The only Papillon to achieve this prestigious award.
Thatâs my baby girl in your video at 3:07 and 7:11! đ A lady once asked to take photos of her and now I see her everywhere. Super cute!
Aww â„ïž
Ăok Ćanslısin cok gĂŒzel bir papilion â€
What a compliment! She is helping me choose to get a Papillion. đ
I have a little female Pap and she's the smartest dog I've ever had. So loving and a bit willful too!â€
How do you socialize the papillon. Mine only likes me an barking at everyone else
I have a wonderful papillon male. Yote! Heâs so smart and cute.
Does many tricks and if I ask him what do you want he will show me exactly what he wants.
Also has to see whatâs on the dinning table everyday so he knows Iâm not hiding something special đ he even has his own you tube channel!
I have a half shih Tzu and half Papillon dog. how lucky and blessed I feelxx
I prefer pure breedsâŠ.X Breeds you donât know what you are gettingâŠI only adopt from Breeders who âShow their Papillonsâ & have numerous Imported Champion Dogs to stop inbreeding. Buying X Breeds it could be a close mating âŠwith a Father, Mother or Sibling - hence the poor puppy could have serous health problemsâŠbackyard & puppy farms are cruel it is all about $$$$
I am on my 2nd Pap - my 1st was a breeding dog in a puppymill and was never socialized with people and toys, so she wasn't THAT intelligent - she was in her mid-teens when I adopted her. However, my Spock, boy he is SMART AS A WHIP. He will do things that shock myself and other (when he does this, I call it "spocking" instead of shocking). He came from a breeder as it is rare to find these dogs in rescues/shelters and there are not many Papillon breeders in the tri-state area. In a way, this IS an advantage because it shows he was not overbreed as many toy breeds are. He had a tumor on his foot (he is 9 years old) and this was THE ONLY time he ever needed medical attention. Spock has NEVER come down with a cold or had any infections, such as cuts that didn't heal well.
Papillon and Phalene dogs are the best :) We enjoy their presence and zest for life every day! :)
Love Papillions! My Border collie/ Sheltie mix learned commands in 1 to 3 repetitions đ
Petronella my Phalene sheâs the best and smartest dog Iâve ever owned and Iâve had 13 Papillions â€
When teaching Spock tricks, he learned FIVE in maybe 4 days; with the help of Swiss cheese. After the 3rd time, he had the commands mastered. He is VERY HYPER - even going on 10 years of age. When teaching him the commands, I found it was important not to have other humans or dogs around to prevent him from being distracted. I will even say things to him and he will know to do it on first try.
yes
"RIJKSMUSEUM" in Amsterdam had some cool paintings with " Butterfly dogs" on it...oldest "best friend" to women in that century painted and living.
Love the breed! I have 3 of them!
Who doesnât love Papillons?!
The papillon can kill a squirrel in seconds biting through the head. Our papillon did just that.
Yikes. So you canât let them off leash in a park?
I love the Phalene â€
Do Papillons suffer from separation anxiety? I work from home but canât spend time with a dog. They would need to either be content to be at my feet or be able to entertain him/herself while I work. I would take them out for a walk in the morning, during lunchtime and after work though. Could an owner of Papillons please share your thoughts?
My pap had a chair next to me when I worked from home. He didn't like being alone but when I got cats he did much better. He seemed completely happy to be able to see me (he would watch me where ever I went and if I got out of view he would come "get" me). He had a spot on my couch and bed and when he passed away at 17 it was in his sleep in his spot on the couch. Currently I don't plan on getting another pap (I won't own another breed after him) until I am working from home again. They are fantastic dogs. I got him at 10 from a person who became the guardian of their small grandchildren so he needed a home without small chilren.
They need cats
@@aleksandrac9335 Mine tries to kill everything that moves, it's really hard to walk him, as we have a lot of cats, squirrels and skunks in my neighborhood. He has caught a robin and a bat before.
They are good lap dogs or will sleep at your feet in a dog bed. I have a hybrid work model. My papillon has anxiety when I go to the office but sheâs perfectly content to watch me work when I wfh. Start training them with commands early, especially quiet. They are known barkers. Thatâs the only command I canât get my papillon to always heed. Sheâs fine at home on the day to day but expect barking for deliveries, when guests first arrive, and out in public. Apart from that, she knows 20+ commands and is very obedient, so much so that neighbors donât mind watching her on anticipated long work days.
Mine is the only dog I have. I was fully wfh when I took her in. If you plan on being out of the house a lot, getting a companion when theyâre young would spare them the anxiety and probably help with socialization. She tends to get along best with other smart breeds.
Papillons are very loyal to their owner and may miss you while at work, but they donât really have separation anxiety. Youâre going to need to spend a lot of time training if you get a young pup, but theyâre definitely easier to train than most dogs. If your pup gets very little attention you may need another dog or cat to keep them happy. Otherwise. they are pretty independent and happy to lay around and chill with you as long as they get their exercise.
I need my Paps. I love my departed babies, so much. Loving, so sensitive and loyal. I am crushed. I miss my girlsâŠ

I was done after he pronounced Bacall as Back all.
I had to watch it with the sound off. The dogs are still cute
I adore my Papillon Ruby more than I enjoyed raising my Son's. They're definitely more loyal, much smarter, I'm never alone. Where my Son's have families and ignore the shit out of me.
And you expected your children to behave as your toy dogs? Of course they have their own life, come on!
Nah, she's right. Papillons are better than children.
Ditto~đ„°My Andre is the sweetest Papillon on the planet!
@@Dizelle I think the son'S dog was meant :)
my papillons name her name was also Sophie. she passed 2 years ago at 14.
Bless
Its pap-E-on But still cute
Donât need that music đ±
Chanson Papillon
Not sure if I can sit through this whole video of this guy saying "PUPeyon" way too much.
Lordy! I have Papillons, but can the narrator pronounce Papillon correctly?
He calls them Puppyawn.đ
It's PAP-ee-awn
No the correct French pronunciation it is 'Pa - pee - onh' with the emphasis on the 'pee' there is no long 'awn' at all. I have bred and shown Papillons for over 20 years.
Very peculiar pronunciation.
Don't believe it lol
Plenty of decent information, but the name is Pap-short A not Pop. Kirby comes from Lo-teee ki papillons. Not Lo- tecki. This drove me crazy the entire video. Also, the painters name is Ti-short I - tion , not Titan. Maybe read the info yourself instead of using a computer
Maybe try learning how to pronounce Papillon?
he said it right, iâm french
yup, if were going by the original french pronunciation, he said it 100% right
I just got a papillon puppy a couple days ago!
I have a border collie Papillon best dog I've ever met in my life. How's it going with yours?
