Welcome back guys! Today I’ll show you the double VTEC Crossover sound that my 8th Gen has now that I have TSX cams and a header. Sorry if the audio is only coming out of one side I’m not sure why that happened, might need a new mic.

That resonance sound before the actual crossover is the primary cam lobes reaching top efficiency before they drop off and the larger VTEC lobe engages, which has it's own seperate peak efficiency. I think they call it "on the cam" the point at which a particular cam profile is creating the most power at certain engine speeds. Sounds amazing!

Yeah I know they’re already phasing VTEC out and replacing it with turbo so we have to keep our fingers crossed

So from what ive seen in tuning with hondata you actually have a lower engagement of VTEC then actual VTEC. I dont know the correct terms in Hondata but thats probably why there are 2 stages
He has tsx cams so its a littel difference. I believe with hondata in a DOHC k20z3 it engages one set of cams then for the uper cam engages at a higher rpm whatever you may set it to. At a higher rpm vtec will be alot louder and noticeable.
There's only one VTEC command engagement from the ECU. The sound he's talking about has to do with the TSX cams lift and duration resulting in a sound a similar to VTEC at lower RPM than the actual VTEC.
How this looking on the dyno?
I wonder what the gas mileage is with those cams since vtec hits harder
Usually don’t calculate gas mileage doing VTEC pulls lol but I averaged about the same overall about 21 City

Yes and yes lol. They will run without a tune but I would definitely get a tune before upgrading cams and after. Tuning should be your first mod in my opinion

RDX Injectors is all you need at the bare minimum but they’re barely big enough I would recommend getting like 550cc injectors to be safe. You can upgrade the fuel pump if you want but don’t have to

@@k20z3keith7 numbers speak for themselves, the 90 degree bend the 3.5 whale slog does produce a good sound but with the v/stack on the half part is a true 3inch intake with better throttle response
@@DTuned559 Real shit I've been thinking about that. Might just buy a straight 3.5" coupler so it sits right behind the headlight but idk if it's worth it.
Do it. Gotta have some piping there but behind the headlight would be a decent location
