Staying focused yourself is a great way to help others focus, as a leader you need to be prepared to "go there first" So expressing at least some of your worshipful thoughts out loud during instrumental time or lead in time could help.

As you said, is up to the worship leader to remove all possible distractions that keep the focus out from God. But I think that this rule has to be adopted by all the musicians: your not playing for yourselves, nor you are making a concert. So, there must be a limit to the "virtuous stuff" musician play.

yes, limit guitar solos to 4-5 minutes...

We asked for some feedback after our first CZcams streamed service this last week, one of the things mentioned was making sure lyrics that are displayed are correct - spellings, grammar, and British spellings rather than American as we’re in the uk. I took the point as fair, something to look at, but not something that would cause a huge distraction for me, seemed to bother others a fair bit though.

Interesting, I've never thought about the spellings, I often see he UK "saviour" but don't usually change it.

@@stuff.church we get our lyrics through song select on pro presenter, so they are pretty much always Americanised spellings, changing the lyrics would be a fair bit of effort! It makes me wonder where you draw the line, like how much work is too much for something that might not bother loads of people? Want to be as accommodating as possible but does the congregation have a responsibility in distraction too

If at all possible, try to communicate with the attendees not to wander around when they come in late. It's really distracting for them to wander to search for the best seats, or looking for their husband after dropping off their kids

I think that this might draw attention toward the disturbance and raise the distraction level. Maybe if you know the person is looking for their spouse and you can see them just wave them toward each other and quickly move on?
