That’s fully dependent on the make/model of wife. Need to consult the user’s manual for that one.

Designing a starter motor gear made of plastic seems stupid at first. Then again, the "bean counters" save a few cents and force people to buy a new starter after a few years -- so it's smart from the company's viewpoint. Another example of the same process is where they make the engine cam gear out of plastic. Within a few years it breaks and may destroy the engine. OK, just buy another expensive engine. 😢
