    I'm only half way through this video, but I wanted to say how much this video resonates with me and it's a topic not many people talk about. I feel like so many people are scared to come out of a cycle of over-exercising and feeling super body conscious, so it's amazing to see how positively it has affected you to get to a healthy point in your life. Sending lots of love and wishing you a happy new year!

      i agree!! you don't often see people talk about this, and so that is why i thought it was really important to do so! honestly, thank you soooo so much for your support, cara, and i am sending all my love back your way 😉💚✨

    Dear Holly, thank you so much for this and I'm so proud of you. I was at my lowest weight due to stress and forgetting to eat 5 years ago as a teenager. A year later I slowly started to gain weight and I unfortunately restricted myself to go back to my lowest so that I could fit my clothing. At last, I just accepted it and got new clothes that fit my new weight. Even now becoming a proper adult I've put on more healthy weight but I don't think that much about it since I need food to keep my energy and happiness up. With that came love and appreciation for my body.

    I was very skinny in university and was so restrictive. But now I love my food and have so much more energy. I just hoovered a big plate of home made spaghetti bolognaise, and I’d used to feel so guilty about it, but now I am pleasantly full, and will sleep a lot better on a full tummy .

    I am so so glad you got so far. When I followed your channel you were at Cambridge and I am a recovered anorexic myself so I noticed that your "intuitive eating" wasn't really that. It actually triggered me a bit. I then went through another round of recovery myself and can say all the points you spoke about are true for me as well and it's amazing how much ones life can change. Hope it inspires more people to not only recover to a point of survival but to a point of happiness

    I am myself on my own weight gain journey, which I am talking about in my own youtube channel.
    I really want to bring awareness to normalise gaining weight

    Right Holly! You look more healthy now, never turn back. All the media attention and hype with being skinny and crash dieting is having a negative impact on people. When losing weight turns into obsession, this is definitely an alarm bell which has a negative impact on health. Those who want to lose weight, do it in a healthy way and when your body can't take it. Stop. We are all different and so is our body.

    • @HollyGabrielle
      @HollyGabrielle  Před rokem +1

      oh i won't ever, ever turn back! and i 100% agree! there are so so many pressures from the media, including social media, that make us feel as if we need to look or be a certain way . . . and this can have such a huge impact on our lives, mental health and relationships! it makes me really sad, but i just hope to be a small voice in doing something to change this! ✨

    I loved this video!! I was in the same boat as you and then I found full recovery and full freedom and it feels so good! And you're right, you just have to make the decision and stop at nothing until you get there! Gaining weight was my biggest fear, but it ended up being the best thing I've ever done and I'm happier than I ever thought possible 😊 Sending you lots of love and support from LA!! xoxo 🤗🥰👍❤💕💕

    I have been following you since the early Cambridge time and as a much older person (compared to you 😅) I can only say: It is so heartwarming to see you grow up and develop in soooo many directions ❤
    You are so wise already and it’s great how you manage to analyse yourself and the past.
    Go on Holly, you are great!!!

    Thank you so much for sharing this Holly. I can so much relate to the experience now that I have been through similar situation myself. I have been really obsessed with food intake ever since I started my weight control until I lost my period last year. It has been really hard to come in terms with that because I was no way near my goal. When I started to self reflect I realised that although I am not underweight at that point(maybe somewhere near the normal build but definitely not slim) I was always feeling tired because I over stressed myself with exercise and was definitely not eating enough. Now I understand that satiety is the key and I pretty much eat what I crave for. I also started to enjoy running not as a task but a way to de-stress. Now I am much happier with myself and I hope everyone who is sliding down this slippery slope can find their own way to save themselves❤️

So happy for you!!!✨ Would you mind sharing how you menaged to come so far? Did you get any professional help (psychiatrist/dietist/coach etc), or was it all through traveling and 'just' doing what you were afraid off?

    Thank you so much for making this video 🙏🏼 so important for more people to realise that weight loss is not necessarily healthy and weight gain in turn is not necessarily unhealthy - it can in fact be the healthiest thing for your body.
    Weight is just ONE of many factors that contribute to health!! Being able to enjoy food plays an equally (if not more) important role in overall well-being and it’s really not worth missing out on social occasions due to obsessing over the nutritional value of food (and if anything would cause more stress on the body which is increasingly linked to shortened lifespan..)
    Weight gain will only give you more ENERGY to reach your potential and show up fully for others ❤

    I heard that females have a pouch of fat on their abdomen about where their uterus is which is hard to get rid of. It’s because that pouch is added protection for the uterus and a store of high energy if females were to get pregnant. Having a bit of fat here and there isn’t bad, it’s the body’s way of storing extra energy, some insulation for the winter months and help you float when swimming.

    • @HollyGabrielle
      @HollyGabrielle  Před rokem +1

      this is very very true!! females store more body fat, and obviously genetics play a role in this too, but we do need to protect our reproductive organs through storing fat in this particular location especially . . . and we shouldn't therefore try and get rid of it!

    I have also lost my period due to sustaining a low body fat percentage. It’s really difficult for me to deal with because I don’t look like I have an ED so other people don’t really understand if/when I’m struggling. Thank you for being a friend to us, Holly. 🤍
