Although to be fair, it turns out it's not really that simple to define "continent" and there are multiple models with different numbers of continents, so geologists/geographers might actually not have a problem with someone not knowing "all" the continents.

I’m pretty sure Justin knew the word german but didn't understand the question itself. That's probably because the question is phrased in a way that could be interpreted differently. As if the word german is being used as an adjective that people may use in a regional slang or something like that.
Also the interviewer kept on repeating "German? German for basketball?" and if you miss the beginning of the sentence that makes no sense haha
