was fun watching you guys, the game is great. it's so much fun to explore and the world and the OST is just beautiful. the story is awesome too but it takes a long while before it really picks up, the beginning is quite meh. As this was my first gacha game there are a ton of mechanics I had no idea of and I got overwhelmed pretty quickly with new information, so just take it at your own pace and ask for help if you need it. especially concercing artifacts and weapons and such. enjoy. :)

The lip syncing is never actually good in any language, though it's originally Chinese. The only time the effort is put in to have mouth movements match dialogue is pre rendered cutscenes, then it matches well with pretty much any language.

@@david-wj330 Interesting, I feel like I noticed regular dialogue stuff where lip flaps stop early or go long. I have Chinese downloaded so I might try it out in some places, I like the language here and there over English.
They don't have this problem in HSR but I don't think they can implement that in GI because how big game now it is .
HSR uses AI to match lip flaps, its really cool actually. I dont see why it couldnt be added to genshin@@aliwi3476

You can actually do CO-OP Mode after reaching a certain Adventure Rank. Both of you can play in different accounts and visit each other's world. 😊

RPG is something that could theoretically be applied to most games, you are correct about that. In video games it typically means direct control of a character during progression of the game. Even with this more limited definition, most games out there could still be called an rpg

inazuma story wasnt better than liyue story tho... the fight at the jade palace was still one of the most epic scenes till now especially for me as Ningguang main xD
but yeah sumeru got alot more interesting ^^ didnt play much fontaine yet so hope it is as good as sumeru ^^

Just a small corection, the game is made by a Chinese company, so the original dub is Chinese, not Japanese. Also I cant wait for more videos on this game! The story and enviroment just keeps getting better as you progress

Hope you guys have fun, also just a warning, this game has a lot of text, specially side missions and there's no skip button. Some people will probably give you a hard time if you dont read saying that you'll miss the lore and while its true, dont feel bad if you want to click away th dialog, you should go and enjoy the game at your own pace.

This is one of my only complaints about Genshin. There is just too much unnecessary dialogue and padding.
i’ve been playing every single day for 3 years now and I love watching these kinds of videos. It’s as though i’m sharing the excitement with you guys all over again! :D New regions or parts of the map unlock every few months or so, and I can genuinely say it keeps getting better especially on the lore side of things. Glad to have you guys accompany us on the journey.
Edit: oh by the way! they’ve added a bunch of updates that make it way easier for new early game players compared to when I first started :)

Btw, Lumine, the character you chose, has a slightly stronger charged attack (hold attack) than Aether, the brother, but is slightly slower in movement speed. Negligible though.

Also, switching characters will become a key part of the game. For example, using a fire or Pyro attack from Amber and then switching to your main character to use the wind or anemo powers right afterwards is useful in battle. Also, you can equip artifacts but don’t worry about them at this point in the game. Leveling characters is more important. You can level weapons too, but try to level and use four star weapons. You will not be using three star weapons very long. I hope this is helpful! I do not mean to share too much, but it is great to see you enjoying the game.

I have 30mbps connection so fontaine update took like 6 hours to update fully (All that file integrity and update time included)

Gonna help you here, as a veteran in the RPG genre.
RPG(in video games), are games which heavy focus on story, character development and customization. Given the huge success of the genre, most games nowadays borrow elements from it.
However you can define an RPG by how much detail and importance each character's have within the story and how their actions shape the world around them. Only RPGs will allow your character to have that much influence. Western RPGs tend to focus on giving you the choices that will allow the character to change the world, Japanese games tend to focus on storytelling and give the character a well defined personality, in which you are merely the narrator or a spectator.

1) This game is very addictive. I myself started this only three months ago and I am addicted to it.
2) Gacha- It will take your money eventually. I have thankfully resisted it until now. I don't know how much time is left until I am not
When a character you really want shows up and you don't have enough primogems... Once in a year opportunity at best so you best get them during the banner.

Sorry, have to nerd a little. You're right that you play some a character in every game, "rpg" tends to focus more on skills and power building, equipment choice, that sort of thing. Genshin doesn't need you to get super-infested in that, you can experience all the story content with a half-decent team.

It's understandable why you thought it's a Japanese game, I thought so too at first. The Chinese company made it with anime aesthetics in mind, and it takes inspiration from Japanese games as well.

Genshins lore is very extensive and deep, and the story gets better and better in each region hope you guys enjoy btw it's actually a chinese game so its CRPG i suppose, also this is a HUGE game with loads of content, so do not try to rush it otherwise you guys will not have a good time.

but we have many exceptions depending on the game.
sometimes we'll trade off and take turns throughout a single video (like with A Little to the Left)
and sometimes only Peter plays (like with Hogwarts Legacy)

Just take the time to understand what the controls and settings are. It's not like you have to include it in your final video. You were concerned that there wouldn't be controller support but if you took 30 seconds in the settings menu, you would have found out. Altering options won't cause your computer to blow up. Not to mention you weren't paying attention to text and tutorial prompts, Speaking over voicelines?. _Oof._ Tell me, if you weren't recording, would you have played the same way?
Please understand, I say this out of love. You two seem to have a good dynamic and I love watching people people play new games and genres. I'm not saying to not provide commentary, because it's fun to hear the perspective of someone that's not played an Action-RPG. I'm not saying don't make mistakes, because I've been playing Genshin for 3 years and still manage to screw things up. I'm saying you should seek to smooth things out for the sake of your audience.
Look, maybe I'm just an uptight jackass and none of these concerns resonate with anyone else. If so, ignore me. One last piece of advice: don't let anyone pressure you into spending money in any gacha game, Genshin included. I've been playing for 3 years and the only money I've spent was $5 to get the latest character, Furina. Note: I didn't get her.

honestly, we could spend a whole video talking about the balance between entertaining voiceover, respecting/enjoying the fullness of a game, and patiently learning its mechanics and how THAT affects the entertainment value of the show.

The thing is that RPG understanding changed a lot, in Classical meaning Genshin is not an RPG game, cos you simple can't play a role and the whole story is told from third person perspective and Mainc Character (MC) is one standalone character that is used to build a bridge between player and the game's world and not the representation of the player itself, but today genres became useless, cos things go mixed and mixed a lot, so one game at the same time can be in tens of genres, but being in none of them at the same time, so genre meaning like RPG today transform into some sort of "Tags", so they point that game do have some elements of the specific genre, but it does not mean that it is in classical understanding of genre.... SO Genshin is what people do call an ARPG (Action Role Playing Game), but which is not exactly an ARPG in classical understanding of that, but is more Narrativelly-Immersive Archeology Adventure Action game, that contains a lot of genres in its specific way...
Also RPG meant that players can affect the world and change it with their choices, but there are very limited number of games that have possibility to change the world though choices and even they are quite limited and make more illusion of changes, but not as it was in DnD, when you literally can change entire world from what was created by GM(DM), so quite often today RPG are called games that have some progression there, do have characters and give possibility to create Headcanons to a player, so in this understanding Genshin really is an Action Role-Playing game (ARPG), even if the story is told from third person perspective....
So Genres became very complicated today for Videogames than it was in DnD era.
Note - in classical meaning Action RPG meant that combat was in real time and not turn based, today any action that have narration, progression and space for Headcanons have a Tag - ARPG....
Sorry for long text, but videogames became quite complicated to simply fit them into a specific and classical understanding of Genres, that were made to make things easier for a human to find and buy new products based on other products that he liked before, like if you like Limon so you will search it in Citrus fruit section of the market and not in Sweets section, and for something similar genres were created for music, movies and games, if you like FIFA for example, you search similar games in Sports genre section, but today games have mixed genres as I said before, so it is hard to place them into specific section and genres today are more used as Tags, as something that game partially have....
a tag that points towards the elements of the game ! wonderfully put.
also headcannons and real time combat makes a classic RPG ! i knew people would explain this well.
