i think Germany always had such players. in 70s they had like 4-5 players like this (10) (even their CB was flair player). in 80s there were Rumminige and Littbarski. in 90s Moeller, Hassler, Scholl. Problem maybe was that some coaches used them out of position quite a lot.

Doesn't mean anything. Germany does not appreciate Playmakers too much, they always talk about Müller Beckenbauer or Matthäus, but they have always produced so many Playmakers every decade. Nobody in Germany talks about Littbarski, Haßler, Möller or Uwe Bien to name a very few of so many Playmakers that Germany has had.

@@robertwill23 Exactly! That's my main point. German coaches didn't value them the way they should have because it's always about hard work over talent which I get but when you have players like Schuster or Netzer, you have to use them to the fullest.

Never won a major trophy with his clubs. He reach the cup finals with Roma and Karlsruhe. Roma only lost in on away goals rule. Rudi Völler won the cup with Roma in 1991.
