You guys captured some great moments of camaraderie! I hunted with Brian on my goat tag in '21, not only is he tougher than hammered hog-snot, his inherently genuine nature will not allow situations to be sugar coated and promotes conversation rich in healthy shit talking. Great video, guys!

I used to hunt Tolgate area back in early 80's,,,used to be the best area with Ton's of Elk. I moved to Alaska for 16 years, i got back in lower 48 and decided to go back there. Now its a Trophy Bull area and the herd has gone down Big time. What Happened ??? Congrats Fish and Game, you screwed up one of the best elk hunting area's in the World
There are few factors, but thanks to the introduction of wolves and other abundant predators calf recruitment is struggling along with predations of adult elk.
Oregon's wolf population keeps growing and growing.

The elk are moving around in large mileage circles. Thousands. They went with spike only for many years. Bull bulls were the result, and much higher cow/ calve pairs.
The cougars and wolves had become big predators by 1997.
Moose are back in tollgate and the bears are thick because they outlawed dogs to hunt cougars and bears.
I haven’t hunted there for 15 years but when
I go thru mushroom hunting, and to my cabin in the blues below( above cutsforth park) and I always see hundreds of elk. The herds were strong

Using bagels are the best instead of bread they hold up much better just put two in instead of one they're smaller obviously but they absorb mayonnaise and mustard much better they don't fall apart and don't get smashed as much

I wore the orange hat that day during the hunt, but then traded hats for pictures. Sometimes those blaze orange hats cause color grading issues in photographs.

Not a fan of using high power rifles when the game has zero chance of living . Bow and arrow is the mark of a true hunter . Just my opinion. Hunting with high power rifles and scopes has no art to it .
Hi Russ, you must be new to our channel as we are predominantly bow hunters for elk. We do enjoy expanding our season by picking up a rifle from time to time. To each their own. I feel like choosing sides of weapons for legal harvest of animals is a slippery slope. United we stand, divided we fall. Thanks for watching
