"They literally call themselves Decepticons. That doesn't set off any red flags?" "John Cena would be excellent at CinemaSins" that should've been in there.
Hmm if although a negative sounding name does give one cause to consider.... If the decepticons were named "benevolons" or "friendlibots" would you trust them solely on their name?
Actually the ridiculous fact that the transformers 'species' names are in english, and have meanings that correspond to their nature should be the sin. Basically the decepticons should just have some weird alien faction names and the autobots too.
Even the empire in star wars doesnt call itself "the evil empire"
It would make more sense if it was "Dershektoo vs Rablaktri!" If need be Dershektobots and Rablaktrimechs.
Or if it had to be more englishy and not some made up alien speech, make it descriptive but not alluding to any demeanor. Like "tribe of optimus" and "megatronians" or something.
Even if the decepticons just had another name for themselves but the autobots named them decepticons, that would be cool too. But them naming themselves decepticons without some explanation of a ridiculous coincidence that the cybertronian language name for the followers of megatron just happens to sound like 'decepticon' in english makes it stupid and childish. They might just as well have called themself 'badbots' or 'evildroidz'
Just like in so many other sci-fi stories, the denizens have been watching Earth's broadcast television for decades, learning about our culture. Just like all of us, the Autobots and Decepticons find the G1 Transformers cartoon highly entertaining, so they adopted Earth-like forms on Cybertron. Think of it as the robot equivalent to cosplay.

You can always tell them apart by the color of their eyes.
Even then, I like how they sometimes change the eye colors, too. Like some can have purple or yellow, or Autobots can have red, and vise versa with Decepticons, etc. like, that’s also not the only thing that identifies them as either side. I think the main and obvious reason ANYONE can tell, is if they’re literally FIGHTING the other side xD
Tho I really wanna know more of an explanation about eye colors tbh, like why do Decepticons have red eyes? Is it cause they’ve tapped into their “evil” side-like it seems Bumblebee did-or just because? Why does Bumblebee change eye color? Maybe it’s when they’re angry? Are Decepticons always angry? xD

When maneuvering in a formation, everyone, including the guy in the rear gives the hand signal. Hand signals are given by the guy in the lead, then copied by everyone in the formation, to not only pass the command back but also show that you confirm that command. The guy in the rear is showing the sign, so if his team leader looks back, the team leader knows the guy in the rear saw the signal to halt

@@nthgth the fact that he turns into an earth jet probably means he also scanned the weaponry (missiles) of the jet meaning that they would integrate into his robot form somehow (his arms).
I think Transformers can naturally repair themselves overtime, that's why Bumblebee wasn't so damaged when Charlie got him

The live-action Transformers series has needed a reboot since the first film's first teaser trailer. But Bumblebee approached decent art quality levels.
@@alm2187 I still kinda like the first live-action Transformer film, but mainly as a simple popcorn flick. Yeah, it had it's dumb moments, but back then seeing those big robots fighting on the big screen like that was pretty damn cool. However, I can agree that the next several films ranged from incredibly stupid to pretty lukewarm.
Bumblebee on the other hand, I'm glad I saw that in the theater. I actually really liked it, and I hope that if more films are still planned that they take lessons from this film and not Transformers 2 through 5. At the very least, have Michael Bay simply produce the future films while having them directed by folks who don't try to pander to the lowest common denominator of audiences.

I recently found out that it’s done on purpose, because of copyright laws and impersonating an officer etc etc. It is also why some cars are called by their wrong model name but correct brand name, copyright issues.

@@antonio301 it may have not been an earth vehicular mode that Optimus could transform into on Cybertron, bumblebee resembled an earth sports car when he made his entrance but still very futuristic, probably Optimus could also transform into a truck like vehicle on Cybertron.
Can we just appreciate that a lot of this movie was inspired by the Iron Giant? I freaking love IG and I actually really like that they got inspiration from it.

Michael Bay was a producer on this movie, which means he still had a lot of say in what went on in the movie. Kinda like how Christopher Nolan was a producer on Man of Steel. You can still feel their presence, because they are paying for a chunk of the movie to be made.

Yes, that soldier in the back did have to give the halt symbol. Soldiers are trained to echo all hand signals to make sure everyone has seen it. So the nitpick should be that all of the other soldiers weren't echoing the halt signal!

The "Where are the missiles stored when he's in robot form" sin is invalid because we later see that the missiles are clearly stored in Blitzwing's arms when Bee uses it against him.

At 9:48, that song was popular IN EUROPE at the start of 1988 and didn't get released in the states until later than year. I remember it well as I was in the Netherlands for February of 88 and nobody knew what I was talking about when I got back to the states and told people about hearing his work (and how young the guy looked for his voice). When it got released in the US, friends of mine admitted they thought I was making it all up originally

I understand why you sinned it, but, for anyone that's curious, the last person in formation is absolutely supposed to put up the hand signals just like everyone else for two reasons: 1. Everyone is looking around in different directions, watching for hostiles, so someone might not notice the signal being given in front of them, so the more people hold it up, the better chance everyone will notice. 2. It serves as confirmation that each person has seen the signal.

Best thing about this movie is the action scenes are very well directed and so easy to understand. Travis Knight really showed Michael Bay how to direct a Transformers movie.

Blitzwing found it because he was following Bumblebee. Shatter & Dropkick found it because they traced Bumblebee's signal. Hell their entire plan once they got to Earth was to contact the decepticons & tell them where they are.
