Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver critics reviews are out, with their review embargo time seemingly the same time the show released, and you can see why! Staying at a 13% fresh rating despite the number of reviews doubling while I was recording the review summary isn't the best sign. With Zack Snyder admitting that he only listens to focus groups, primarily of friends and family rather than the audience, it's obvious while the movies never improve. Rebel Moon Part Two doubles downs on all the same problems as the first movie, and makes far less sense than it. I'll be doing a full review of this movie because most of it is entirely nonsensical at best, or insane at worst. Should be fun! But what do you think? So Zack admits to the public he doesn't take constructive critism. He just surrounds himself with an echo chamber of "yes" men. I always said he was a hack but to actually publicly admit he doesn't run his writing drafts by anyone sober is a new level of whale sh*t.
This is just like Paul W.S Anderson and his Resident Evil movies. He didn't listen to any constructive criticism at all, and each movie was subsequently worse than the previous one in every way. Yet, they always somehow managed to scrape together just enough of a profit to justify a sequel.

Six months to do ONE harvest!?! If the crops are not going to wilt in that time just harvest what you need and replant that area and repeat. They have a hell of a stable climate if they are not worried about winter or anything. That's farming on easy mode. Or Zack has absolutely no idea how crops work.

Anyway, the whole premise of a galactic empire needing grain from a remote village is stupid. Zhack wanted to copy the 7 samurai, without transposing it to his own universe. At least make the empire want some rare earths or something. This movie is so stupid...
Well... grain is also otherwise known as *seeds* ... and seeds are "designed" (evolved) to FALL OFF.
Long before they finish the harvest, there won't be any point in harvesting it, since the seeds/grain will be long gone.
Then, there's this "little" thing called rain.
When grain is ready to harvest, rain is BAD. It tends to cause things like mold, mildew, rot... and other things.
If they don't have to worry about rain for six months, then they also don't have to worry about being able to grow crops, unless they are irrigating... exclusively.

Either the single village is too insignificant to matter, or the bad guys have overwhelming resources making it impossible for them to win. We've seen the Warhammer knockoffs carpet bomb an entire planet just for harboring rebels, why would they not just solve this rebellion from orbit as well?

The Starship was coal powered.... the BIG gun was aimed by a dude winding wheels like a WW2 submarine - WTF!!!! The whole thing was dumb. I watched the first one a couple of times, trying to convince myself it was just ok. I won't be even trying that for this one.
I wish we just had Spelljammer/Treasure Planet space ships with solar sails and magic coal. Such an underrated esthetic.

Yeah, right now i'm watching British historical dramas from the 1970's and this is great shit. Zach Snyder movie probably has bigger catering budget than whole season of these series, but acting is mostly suberb and screenplays are written by professionals, not retarded diversity hires or directors whose talent sure as hell is not in writing. Now is the perfect time for everyone to get out of their comfort zone, because YT is full of good content from past decades...and it's free.

I liked his Justice League as well but aside from that his track record has been relatively bad at best

@@CerbyoI liked it because it actually felt like a Justice League story that took its stakes seriously rather than having the JL cracking Whedon/MCU jokes all day. I also appreciated that the story developed its characters and showed how the team gets through their trauma and becomes a family of sorts. Thats more than I can say for the cut we got in theaters lol.

If the only praise for a film is well... they got some actors from different countries in it than that's not exactly a huge milestone and the same applies to great visuals. Were they good characters? Did the visuals do any story telling? Would be like praising a road for having a few roundabouts, signs and a nice view. They are very useful and nice but if the road is just a car-wide muddy trench that is full of potholes with cars struggling to get to the end of it without breaking down. That's not a good road.
I watched the 13th Warrior last night about umpteenth time and marveled again of it's diverse casting from different countries...Spain, England, Czech, USA, Norway, Egypt, Sweden, Canada, Austria, Scotland, Denmark and India were all represented. That's what i call diversity.

Synder is like a middle schooler who makes action movies they think looks cool. It's style, special effects and music OVER characters, story, plot, character development and meaningful acting. All his movies are that way really. It's all visuals that Zack thinks look cool but nothing else.

I feel like there are some elements in Rebel Moon that could be focused into a decent story such as a universe where central authority has crumbled and a farming planet is being pillaged regularly by pirates then some young people find the Anthony Hopkins robot and reactivate it. Anthony then proceeds to tell them about the backstory for the universe and why everything sucks. Inspired by stories of the past the young people with Anthony Hopkins robot stand against the invading pirates defeat them and take their ship. From their your second movie could be exploring the decaying parts of what was once an empire or whatever and trying to find away to bring back order to the galaxy so lesser worlds can't be taken advantage of. It's a simpler story, but one that could be fleshed out quite easily.
I would definitely watch that version of Rebel Moon.
You put more thought into that comment than Zack Snyder did in the whole movie.
Now we have a for you the next death match, the Scargiver! Yeah there's no point in fearing this one because all you get from her is scars. No lethal wounds just scars.
Not even a Sydney Sweeney thumbnail can improve this movie.
