It seemed very superficial to me as well. Oprah comes off very mechanical when she is not rehearsed. She is very awkward. You have a good point that this was around the time of the last bits of Madonna's natural beauty.

The change in her demeanor was night and day. Once her kids grew up, she seemed rather discontent again and even more desperate for attention and validation in her 60s.
