nowdays foreigners have started loving indian culture and indian peoples have started loving western culture I dont know what to say it CULTURE or WAY OF LIVING
As a son , whose dad was abroad living alone, fending for us back in India, for 20 years and my mom saving every penny that he sent back so that me and my sister could have an amazing settled future, I once asked my dad "Was it worth it?". He said "If only you guys live a comfortable happy life." He passed away soon after that. On his deathbed he said his only regret is he couldn't spend enough time with his family, he couldn't see our children and rest for a while. Since then I sort of prioritised being with family and near and dear ones, familiar faces. Before my dad passed I spent a year in NY studying and felt we Indians stick together more there , hang out in groups, we show more camaraderie than what we usually show in India. As a family, we become more tight knit due to some sort of 'imposter in foreign land mentality'. If you don't believe me, just have a casual walk outside Newport station in New Jersey. Being from a stable 'mid upper' middle class family , taking my family and sustaining a life there worrying about expenses and living job to job just seemed too much . I mean 'what is better standard of living' if you always feel like an alien, I know third generation Indian Americans who are still racially abused . That one year abroad helped me understand at the end of the day people there watched more indian movies, attended more shows from any random indian celeb and follow cultural indoctrination to the T. Sometimes teenagers on Indian instagram are more west than them. So I decided I rather stay back home, without the worry of where my next dough would come from, stay with family and not 'miss home'. I'm at HOME. As far as money is concerned, hopefully we are spending and saving wisely as dad intended.
I completely agree with you. Wise decision I must say. Life is short and it feels long when you are living where you feel like an alien, where you are not truly happy and don't have belonging and love. God bless you and always keep you happy. 🙏🙏
Working abroad, traveling gets you a perspective and make you more knowledgeable. You respect India more and also gets you humbled as many a times your young mind is on high horse.
A few pointers from personal experience: 1. Start valuing home after you live abroad for a long time 2. You start to understand that abroad is not a heaven 3. You become more caring 4. At the end of the day if you have enough money living abroad is worthless
You can’t compete with a westerner, but remain better off abroad, don’t worry about exploitation, corruption and no fair competition/ opportunity: heat and dust of India, just chaotic atmosphere all over, no ethics- morally corrupt
I always regret moving away from family and doing job in US. It was tough time, people are mean especially to asians, so I suggest if some get better opportunity in India then there is no need to settle outside. Travelling is always recommended.

succinct summary. You have covered all facets. It gets more challenging if you want to come to India for medical treatments such as dental work or certain minor surgeries. Some house renovation and so on.... once in India your time is split between, friend parties, relatives party, Bank, Housing related, Mobile related, waterproofing, deciding who should get what gift, some financial planning, buying insurance, downloading apps which can only be downloaded in India , getting Bank OTP on Indian number, Buying things to take back to India like pressure cooker gaskets, safety valve, buying one of those fancy marble artefact, then juggling weights against permitted weight allowances by airlines then friends give you food/ gifts and you have a tough decision making to decide which one to leave behind and which one to take, handling phone calls once they know you are here all friends want to call, visiting your favorite places, for females they like to get clothes stitched in record time, even return and exchange clothes purchased, visiting temples, catching up on charity contributions, cleaning the house which has been locked for months... getting gas cylinder refills.... all in record 2 weeks time.....
Sir I really want to go abroad but I have the fear of losing love for my parents! I mean I would still love them but that attachment fades away. It's sad but true at the same time. I've seen people like that. One of the cousin brother of my dad hasn't even able to attend his mom's funeral
Hi Sir - I've theee questions for you -- 1) In which city in India did you come back, any particular reason why you like this particular city at India ? 2) Is there something called settlement in life - now that you left job how will you spend most of the time with ? 3) I'm a big fan of yours and have similar preference of life, would you still give career higher priority over family at this stage of life ?

Thank you Sir ji...🙏❤️
Chetan - This medium is helpful for folks. Thx
succinct summary.
Thank you sir for choosing this subject.
Thank you so much ..chetan ji..

Sir I really want to go abroad but I have the fear of losing love for my parents! I mean I would still love them but that attachment fades away. It's sad but true at the same time. I've seen people like that. One of the cousin brother of my dad hasn't even able to attend his mom's funeral
Wow sir , you are just touching the topics running on a youth mind 👌😁
Hi Sir - I've theee questions for you --
1) In which city in India did you come back, any particular reason why you like this particular city at India ?
2) Is there something called settlement in life - now that you left job how will you spend most of the time with ?
3) I'm a big fan of yours and have similar preference of life, would you still give career higher priority over family at this stage of life ?
Just my thoughts! You have explained it v well! V honest!

Looking forward to your video on abroad education and then earning a chance to work after completing the education. Because, students invest a humongous amount just to get a ticket to leave India.
