Final Fantasy X HD Remaster - Mini Game - The Valley Of The Cactuars - Complete Guide

- You will always receive the Mercury Sigil on completing this Mini Game, but the item in the 2nd chest will depend on how many Cactuars you defeat, you are able to lose at on test and still get the ultimate prize, a Friend Sphere.
Cactuar Locations:
1. Oasis - Next to save sphere.
2. Sanubia Desert - East - In the North West - Next to a chest.
3. Sanubia Desert - West - Behind 20% Off Sign.
4. Sanubia Desert - East - Examine the Save Sphere in the tent.
5&6. Sanubia Desert - Central - To the West running around in the centre.
7. Sanubia Desert - Central - In the South West - Examine the chest in the corner.
8. Sanubia Desert - East - In the Sinkhole Whirlpool - Spend time in this area to spawn him.
9. Oasis - Airship - Airship Deck - Where you fought Evrae.
10. Sanubia Desert - West - Will appear behind you after inserting the 9th Sphere.

If anyone is having trouble getting the guy in the sand pit to appear, just exit the area and go back in, he'll be there.

Thanks for the video guide, very helpful! I left encounters on and grinded out Tidus' Overdrives and also allowed me to have full overdrives for all the cactuar fights since they can't dodge them.

For the one in the hole, leave the area and come back. I figured that the game had trouble spawning them while you're in the area, so leaving would load it with it there and it did.
I just received the Mercury sigil from the treasure chest! Woohoo! It took awhile (I was surprised that I was able to save in between a few of the battles & even more so that I got the sigil at all due to failing at least three of the games), but I'm really glad that I took the time to do it.
Thanks for making the video. It was a lot better to see where they were, than to read vaguely worded walkthroughs everywhere else.

For the one which took 45 minutes to spawn, leave the area and then come back again; he will spawn straight away then.
Just replaying the original game on the PS2 over a decade after completing it, good times.

For the sand pit one. Just run into the first sand pit and keep running and you'll appear in the sand pit right next to the cactur for an easy win.

You don’t need to win any of the challenges to get the sigil, but if you do, you get a second chest that will contain better items depending on how many of the mini games you win. (For example, if you only win one,
You get like a potion. If you win all 10, you get a friend sphere)

Quick Tip: Isrra's it's not random nor you have to wait any time. You only have to leave the zone and re-enter, and it will appear, works 100% :)
Key tip. For the hole digger if you leave the zone and come back he spawns immediately.

I got a bunch of "Sphere del perdedor"
The cactaur in the crater at 8:05 - author says it took 45 mins to find. I saved the game and reloded it ran to the crated and the Cactaur was there. 90 secs :)
I love how the one challenge is called "THE ONE I CHOSE TO FAIL" because it is a bullshit challenge

For the one in the sand pit if he's not there, just leave the area and come back. He usually spawns the second time.
Patrick Cummings people are saying that so it must work, it definitely didn't work for me tho, i mean exiting and returning would be the first thing one would try as I did but to no avail. But whatever works!

Yeah I always just made my way to the south toward the The ruins and came back.
btw for the sanddune guy if u run into the hole and keep running u run under the sand and save alot of time doing so

I'm having problems with the last one. It doesn't say needle time at all. They just turn around and fail. So I stop before hand and still fail. Not making sense of it at all.

All this running back and forth: is there a way to skip all the random encounters? Ugh every 7 seconds!
Carolyn Hopper if you havent done so already, kill the entrance boss at the baaj temple, youll get a weapon with the "no encounter" perk on it. theres a video on youtube that shows how
