Another masterpiece by the king of music
This album was and probably will always be the peak of Beck's career.
He's had several peaks, there's probably some oceanographic or topographical term that refers to a group of waves with giant crests of equal magnificence following one right after another but I just ain't got no fancy booklearnin to put it in the right...um....words.
I loved Mellow Gold and his indie albums that saw widespread release after he got well known, and then I was totally disappointed with Odelay! and kinda gave up. And then Midnight Vultures hit me like a tidal wave. And then some more ebbs and flows and I had pretty much stopped paying attention to new music altogether and then in 2017 I checked out Colors, his first album in a long time that I had given a shot having been immensely let down by Morrissey's attempt at electronic music which critics loved and I loathed, and I was blown away and wondered why I had ever stopped listening. And so no I have no more doubts on whether or not he still has plenty of great shit still yet to give to us all. Batten down the hatches lest your mind be swept away in his next hurricane like mine almost was.
